Tips for CO: -The bow always spawns in the bottom half of the challenge. -To progress in CO, pop the three orbs. This will make the cosmic jelly move off of the exit and begin to chase you, allowing you to go through. -It is best to find the exit jelly before you pop the third bubble. -The jellies in CO move quickly, but turn slowly. If you need a moment to breathe, juke one and stand still while it circles around you. -The cosmic ocean levels loop, so if you fall off of one downwards, you will end up back on the top. Likewise, if you jump off of the left side of one you will end up on the right. The area between the left and right is called "the loop" because things falling there will loop continuously. Very useful with cape/jetpack/hoverpack. -Note that the above applies to EVERYTHING. A rock in the loop is more than likely equivalent to an instakill, since it will send you hurtling to the ground in a stunned state. Try your best to avoid things getting stuck in the loop, and if they do, don't go through the loop unless its an emergency. -The orbs make a sound when popped. The sound get more intense the more you have popped, so the third one will be much louder than the first. Listen out for this sound in case an enemy or trap pops an orb offscreen, so you don't pop what you think is the second orb only for it to be the third and the jelly catches you unaware. -Yang will always have a turkey that you can use to kill him. Get on the turkey and stand just close enough to yang that the turkey will barely hit him. You don't want to be too close, or the key that he drops will stun you. Hit him with the turkey and stand above his body. Right as he is about to get up, jump and flutter with the turkey to stun him as soon as he gets up. Repeat until he is dead. -The easiest way to do the sun challenge is to go into one of the top corners and destroy the spawner there. A sticky bomb right on it, or two regular bombs placed under it at the same time will destroy it. -If you do the challenge in tide pool you can get the clone gun. Give the clone gun to one of the hired hands from Vlad's castle, or the one from the big fish in tide pool. Once you get to waddler in the ice caves, give him the clone gun. In sunken city, after you complete the sun challenge, you can use the clone gun to clone the resource bag that Tun gives you to get 99 ropes and 99 bombs. -In CO, instead of a ghost, another cosmic jelly will spawn after 3 minutes. Great vid as always and keep killing Yang!
Tip for the future: The funniest trick the cosmic ocean can pull on you, is to hide a really volatile enemy behind the astral jelly. So if you approach it just to scout out how the exit area looks like, beware that a Pangxie (Big cunking crab-dude) or something could clock you into next thursday and send you flying to your death.
CO tip: you can get an item that makes navigating the CO easier, here's how to get it... Help out Van Horsing in Volcana, then find him again in the Temple
well, here we are again fun fact: you can make the sun challenge way easier by running to one of the top corners, and backwhipping the enemies that come out of the spawner
To get to the next level in CO, you have to pop three orbs to get the jelly to attack you, then go to where it was waiting to leave. Random Chaos is the number 1 killer in CO. Its extra bad in CO because of the vertical and horizontal loops. Try to minimize the chaos and keep things away from the sides of the level where the looping happens. Everytime you enter a level, you have about a second where everything is frozen while the screen transitions in. During this time, scan the surrounding area to make sure there are no immediate threats. Finally, play online multiplayer. I learned about almost everything from playing with random people who did things Id never seen before. Good luck on beating Cosmic Ocean, you got this
You can farm infinite life in vlad’s castle by putting 2 vampires in the same place and throwing them something, that happens because the vampires regenerate by consuming blood
Yang is a menace. W vid! Tips: In CO (Cosmic Ocean) you have to pop a certain amount of orbs to get through the door. The place that the megajelly is sitting at is where the door is. There are also orbs randomly scattered across the level. (I'm not completely sure but i think it can be anywhere from 3-6 orbs in a level.) He will chase after you after you pop all the orbs, thereby, revealing the door. Also, the levels all loop around. So if you fall down the bottom you teleport to the top. Same the otherway around and same with horizontal movement too. Hope all this helped! EDIT: Also, uh, I'm still stuck on trying to beat Hundun. Any tips YOU can give ME?
Ahh, that’s where the door is, thank you! So for Hundun, I would say the spike shoes are the bare minimum you need. Get them in world 5 from the Yeti Queen if you’re still missing them. Get a lot of bombs and train a hired hand so they can hold items for you. The freeze gun can insta-kill Hundun and I think 3 or so bombs kills each head. Otherwise, a couple of well timed stomps with spike shoes should do it! Good luck!
@@depo420 Oh, ok, I must have been playing with randomizer on. Also, yes I know it is called the celestial jelly but the entity name is called mega_jellyfish and i just prefer calling it that.
Sun Challenge is never perfect but by tucking yourself in the corner and never letting the enemies get up you can avoid a lot of strife. Maybe bomb a dispenser at the level below the corner to keep the jungle priests from cursing you
In cosmic ocean: you have to destroy 3 orbes then when that jellyfish start attacking you can escape through the exit (you also need to clear 99 levels) Good luck
Cosmic Ocean actually lasts for 94 levels. The first four levels of world 7 are Sunken City, and level 7-99 doesn't actually exist. Once you go through the exit in 7-98, you win, and your run is considered to have ended on 7-99.
the easiest way i’ve seen to do sun challenge is to go up to the spawned in the top corner, and place two bombs from against the wall. the bomb cascade will blow up the spawned so you can just chill on the frog trap
Word of advice. Try to get to 7-10 and no further. If you didn’t know already cosmic ocean is a series of randomly generated levels going all the way to 7-99. It’s a literal suicude mission to try to get to the end.
Well if you can make it to 7-10 why not try for 7-11? And then why not 7-12? You're right that it's unreasonable to _expect_ to finish it, or _require_ yourself to finish it, but part of the beauty of a roguelike that goes on for 116 levels is that you can just try to improve your PB if you want. If you lose interest or get overwhelmed, great, you can tell people you made it to CO and that's an achievement. But until then you might as well keep trying. (Also, if you've played the game this much, then you're well used to every run feeling like a suicide mission. The odds of success being even lower than before can just make it easier to accept ahead of time that your run will almost definitely end in death.)
6:45 I like jetpack a little more personally, the extra manoeuvrability is worth the risk imo, all my good CO runs have been with jetpack, but a good chunk of people prefer cape with good reason since it's less volatile
there is easier ways to do the sun challenge, what most people do is bomb the spawner at the top on the side you enter on, by either using 1 sticky bomb on it, or two unsticky bombs right under it. after doing that you stand on top of the edge spear trap right beside, and usually it's a fairly easy sun challenge
You don't need to do the sun challenge for arrow of light, but doing it gives you the bomb/rope mega bag from tun, which can be used with the clone gun for 99 resources each
spectacles give 2x vision in dark levels and if you're using udjat eye on the drill, it'll let you see things in wall which you would miss if you didn't have them or udjat eyes

I'm a little sad that the comments told you where the exit is hiding in Cosmic Ocean, because it might have been a cool moment to see you notice the edges of the door tile around the jelly or something. But then again if it resulted in another 7-5 death it would have sucked for you, so maybe not worth the risk.
@NelsonManfella It's a little RNG dependent but here we go. (1) find a level with both a Kali Alter and a Present item. (there is a guaranteed present in 4-2's giant fish, but it isn't the most helpful) (2) place the Present on the Kali Alter and you get an eggplant. (It breaks to most damage it takes, even a 1 block drop, so be super careful) (3) in 5-1 (snow world) there is a purple alter. Place the eggplant on said alter, and enter the hidden door and you will meet the eggplant child. (it is recommended you use Waddler at Olmec since he is in both 3-1 and 5-1) (4) escort the eggplant child to 7-1 (Sunken City). And place him on the hands of the statue of a woman. (eggplant kid has the similar ai and hired hands. So it is highly recommended you find them a safe spot in any given level and drop them on the floor making them sleep while you beat said level) (4) you have reached the eggplant world! Kill the king and steal his crown. The crown changes you whip, which is cool.
All my homies hate Yang
*oil up
Also you have slight invincibility when leaving a door. So much so that you could’ve run through quillback that one time you bombed him
You could try to get the alien compass, which points to the exit of cosmic ocean. The ocean loops btw, and with your cape you can go between them.
Thank you for the tips!
I hate 2's Yang, but not HD's
Fun fact: today I've reached for the first time the Cosmic Ocean

Spiked shoes do more damage the longer you are in the air.
