For years, Southern SW7 #8202 has sat in the shops of the Southeastern Railway Museum, where hard-working volunteers (including myself since last year) have worked to replace old components, assemble big pieces, and work out little bugs to return this vintage unit into service. And finally, over ten years, the beast returns to her work. I had the pleasure of being able to work at the museum on this wonderful Saturday and document the day of setting up 8202 for her first runs since the 2010s. Coupled with a kind gesture from one of the engineers and nice Norfolk Southern action, this was truly a day to remember, and I hope you enjoy seeing this vintage piece of history still alive in 2023.
