I had been playing on hm up to the orgueille (ch3 Boss), where I took a break and came back after 2 years on normal, because... well that specific fight had me traumatized and fearing what was next to come. The thing is, after the orgueille, I got access to the cat suit and other broken stuff and the game became a cakewalk for me, so I banned myself from using earth guard effects, which in term meant I wouldn’t use kevin.... a shame, since he is really cool and apparently he has a lot of extra dialogue during the final segment of the game. Maybe for trails in the sky third I‘ll go back to hm so I don’t have to feel bad for using him.

I just beat Leonhardt and finished SC for the first time. What a fantastic experience! I will never not be thankful for this video pointing me in its direction

Late response here but...after playing CSII, I feel like this is a growing trend in the trails series lol. Nightmare run with no new game + on CSII. Some divine knight fights were a bit of a challenge, but nothing compared to McBurn. Oh, you interrupted my sol-eruption? Great. Heres an unblockable s-craft that just so happens to wipe your entire team out. ffs... If Alisa's angel master quartz wasn't a thing I don't know what I'd do lol...
Mcburn was intended to be the strongest thing in the damned game. He's the Almighty Conflagration and the strongest Enforcer in Ourobouros, rivaling Arianrhod in power. Of course a pack of students and one measly Bracer would struggle against him. And they of course had to be bailed out when he unleashed the Blazing Demon.
LeonGun8 Sara is the youngest person in the history of the guild to achieve A rank status, so she's no mere bracer. Though I suppose that means little when compared to the enforcers.
I actually found Weismann 's 2nd form harder than Leonhardt. I must have gotten lucky on Leonhardt. Lol. Or my party set-up was better configured for Leonhardt but not Weismann. Estelle/Joshua/Olivier/Kloe.
Falcom NPC well I agree this one is great x) but I wouldn't say something like that x) because imo there are some arrangements that are really good and which I prefer more than the originals (Silver will super arrange in mind for example x) ) The base given from this though is extremely good though x)
Matthew NPC No spoilers too much but if you have played the third it was super disappointing to hear the arranged version used in SC instead of thos piece. It felt very underwhelming for that battle. Original is best song.

The actual title was meant to be "Sword Emperor" since the enforcer numbers and titles correspond the tarot cards. "Blade Lord" and "Sword Emperor" use the same kanji in the original but when they used "Lord" instead of "Emperor" the reference was lost. Don't know why did XSeed change the titles as they were perfectly laid out for them in the wallpapers!!

I'm a nostalgic person. I really miss the times of being a kid and having a blast discovering stuff. The game I vividly remember is Lufia 2, a SNES turn based RPG. Now, Trails in the sky managed to do the unthinkable. When fighting Loewe, I enjoyed the whole thing (setting, music, fight) so much, I had fun like back then. For a miserable person like me, thats more valuable than probably anything.

I believe I'm late to this I think she just challenged him and spammed the retry offset 99 times until she was able solo him or the continue without beating him option finally appeared after the 100th loss out of pity. Gameplay joke.

Playing nightmare is a freaking torture. Even though I completed FC, and SC on nightmare, pretty much give up on the rest of the series and just play on hard. I pretty much die on normal monsters by accident more than I die from boss. Except for the last boss, that's quite painful too.
3rd is pretty brutal on nightmare indeed though in the other arcs, I think Nightmare is slightly better balanced because the games give you more options x)

Shinobi Kev honestly i think from crossbell onwards, nightmare mode is the definitive way to play these games. The difficulty feels perfect especially in zero/ao. After playing it i really cant go back to lower difficulties lol
Haven't fought him yet in SC, but in FC..Man. I actually did beat him but it took quite a bit. I was spamming Earth Wall with Kloe and Shera while attacking with Estelle. And even then, I needed the right Accessories for it. I pity those who don't grind if they want to beat this dude.
Major spoilers for Trails in the Sky FC and SC: | | | Loewe was the real antagonist of Trails in the Sky FC and SC in sorta the same way Azula was in Avatar The Last Airbender. Or Darth Vader was in Star Wars. He may not have been the one in charge, but he was by far the most complex and focused on of all the villainous characters, on top of which, he's the recurring penultimate boss of both games and both times he is, BY FAR, the toughest fight in either game, far exceeding the difficulty of the actual final bosses. The confrontations with him feel like the true thematic climaxes of these games, where Estelle and Joshua's philosophies are put to the ultimate test. And that these fights are set to this absolutely amazing, epic theme of his, which I'd argue is even better and more memorable than the actual final boss themes of these games (not that they were bad on their own merits, far from it, especially in SC) truly elevate them to something amazing and memorable.
Loewe is kind, ambitious, confidence, cool personality ,tragic ,sadness, he do his own free will.. I rember him save the orphan in fc.. reduced damage from the dragon in sc.. Overed flowers and pray to agate sister... I wouldn't call him villain i think loewe is the anti hero
For fire emblem fans, play this game. The only way I could describe its gameplay is like if you mixed ffvii, chrono trigger, and fire emblem. The story is also pretty good.
Since apparently the composer of this beautiful track died, I wonder is that why they don't bring this guy and his theme back (in that case he's one of the few main characters that suffers from life and death in this series 😅 but ethier way, I'd love to hear a cold steel twist on this)

If not, It's probably best not to worry about it(and for the lead up to the end end of cs4 semantically with Loewe before you kick off the final day of doing side quests.... Ah, yes when you can get extra BP from winning against Loewe but can only use Estelle, Scherazard and Kloe and Loewe is immune from almost all status. The memories of getting massacred is coming back that's for sure, haha.
You even get an achievement for it on the Steam version if you pull it off. I managed to do it on my second try, but just barely, and only because I was warned about it ahead of time.
Nad Rahcassi There are complaints about 3rd? I haven't beat the game yet(at the last chapter before phantasma castle) but everything before has been so awesome. Its basically the epilogue fans wanted to SC. Its also so versatile with how many characters you can choose and the moon/star doors. Its a damn good game.
I actually liked the game a bit more than I would've BECAUSE of it being focused around Kevin. After that game he easily became one of my all time favorite characters.
@Mxs yeah there were complaints but mostly from the hardcore EstellexJoshua fanbase that can’t get the Crossbell Arc because it hs no English version. I guess they just want an epilogue of them getting married or something, kinda like Cold Steel 3’s transition to Adult Rean
Lowe is so strong you can't skip him in SC the button to skip the fight before Weissman has a skip button but on PC it doesn't work so you have to beat Lowe
I was too busy raging at the fight to enjoy this theme lmao. A boss using S-crafts is one thing, but not only being able to spam them as well as create loads of clones and shit? Made the fight unfun tbh
I honestly don't get the powerscalling in Trails, Leondhart is supposed to be at the level of McBurn but also weaker then Arionhrood significantly and Arionrhood is supposed to be weaker or equal to Aurelia so by this Aurelia should be able to beat Mcburn pretty easily but I doubt that strongly. They should have either not made Leondhart relative to Mcburn or not made Arionrhood relative to Aurelia or made Leondhart relative to Arionrhood. This one piece of Trails scalling always bugged me. I suppose it's maybe cause Leondhart got Kernviter after he fought Arionrhood so that would have been a significant boost but still Arionhrood says if he lived he would have gotten stronger meaning even with the Kernviter he still wasn't her level I beilive
I assume you played sen 3 and 4 and maybe hajimari If you did so I will tell you something worse. We fight the whole stahlritter on sen 3 and who do we have only as a reinforcement ? Aurelia. So they mean to tell us, Arianrhod and her unit can be bested simply because we have this woman ? Lol I mean Aurelia is pretty stronk but I dont think this stronk but anyways man Rean and co. Nakama power haha this thing is inconsistent and Rean solves anything with power of friendship anyways so imo atm falcom killed their "power charts"

IIRC Ouroboros replace Anguis but don't replace Enforcers, like currently they have 4 spot left (Loewe, Joshua, Sharon and Renne) they recruit new enforcers but never replace their position.

I love every version of this song but goddamn the original is just so easy to jump in to. Its always active , its always bursting with that moment of all songs but also always building up for that burst. Like it can be used on a sad scene or an action filled scene.
justo got into this series a couple of days ago, started it on hard mode cuz I'm not a pussy, got to this guy's boss fight at Grancel Castle and he destroyed my fucking ass, I made some pretty decent damage to him but after the first 4 full heals I realized I was supposed to lose... Imagine my face when I realized I wasted a couple of Reviving Balms and my time with this fucker

I can't believe such an amazing franchise with beautiful music become a waifu dating sim, it's kinda sad to see this franchise suffering. For me Cold Steel is just a non-canon spinoff games.
not a fan of the waifu sim either, and while IMO Sky is the peak of the series in terms of writing and emotion, Crossbell and Cold Steel still do stay faithful to the world and move the story along in an effective way, despite some problems with certain things (for me personally). id say the series is still going strong story and character wise. just sad that we will never see a canon relationship like we did with the amazing one that is joshua x estelle again.
on the one hand, i do agree the freedom of choice is doing more harm in making the story and character development weaker, than it is doing good in trying to be as inclusive of various shippers as possible. that said, falcom is not very good at being impartial of who they would've chosen as canon ship, and the story is still pretty good otherwise, so I'm not too bothered overall.

I believe I'm late to this I think she just challenged him and spammed the retry offset 99 times until she was able solo him or the continue without beating him option finally appeared after the 100th loss out of pity. Gameplay joke.

Either you won't get the chance to hear enough of the song because *S-BREAK* , or this extension won't be enough for the long and grueling fight to come; there's no middle ground.
Playing nightmare is a freaking torture. Even though I completed FC, and SC on nightmare, pretty much give up on the rest of the series and just play on hard. I pretty much die on normal monsters by accident more than I die from boss. Except for the last boss, that's quite painful too.
3rd is pretty brutal on nightmare indeed though in the other arcs, I think Nightmare is slightly better balanced because the games give you more options x)

@@naranlerlop8205 it's more manageable imo yes you have more options, for zero no kiseki and ao no kiseki though it's more manageable than nightmare from sky, cold steel series being more manageable than crossbell nightmare series though
Shinobi Kev honestly i think from crossbell onwards, nightmare mode is the definitive way to play these games. The difficulty feels perfect especially in zero/ao. After playing it i really cant go back to lower difficulties lol

Haven't fought him yet in SC, but in FC..Man. I actually did beat him but it took quite a bit. I was spamming Earth Wall with Kloe and Shera while attacking with Estelle. And even then, I needed the right Accessories for it.
I pity those who don't grind if they want to beat this dude.

Loewe was the real antagonist of Trails in the Sky FC and SC in sorta the same way Azula was in Avatar The Last Airbender. Or Darth Vader was in Star Wars. He may not have been the one in charge, but he was by far the most complex and focused on of all the villainous characters, on top of which, he's the recurring penultimate boss of both games and both times he is, BY FAR, the toughest fight in either game, far exceeding the difficulty of the actual final bosses. The confrontations with him feel like the true thematic climaxes of these games, where Estelle and Joshua's philosophies are put to the ultimate test. And that these fights are set to this absolutely amazing, epic theme of his, which I'd argue is even better and more memorable than the actual final boss themes of these games (not that they were bad on their own merits, far from it, especially in SC) truly elevate them to something amazing and memorable.
Loewe is kind, ambitious, confidence, cool personality ,tragic ,sadness, he do his own free will.. I rember him save the orphan in fc.. reduced damage from the dragon in sc.. Overed flowers and pray to agate sister... I wouldn't call him villain i think loewe is the anti hero

Since apparently the composer of this beautiful track died, I wonder is that why they don't bring this guy and his theme back (in that case he's one of the few main characters that suffers from life and death in this series 😅 but ethier way, I'd love to hear a cold steel twist on this)

If not, It's probably best not to worry about it(and for the lead up to the end end of cs4 semantically with Loewe before you kick off the final day of doing side quests.... when you can get extra BP from winning against Loewe but can only use Estelle, Scherazard and Kloe and Loewe is immune from almost all status.
The memories of getting massacred is coming back that's for sure, haha.
You even get an achievement for it on the Steam version if you pull it off. I managed to do it on my second try, but just barely, and only because I was warned about it ahead of time.

Nad Rahcassi There are complaints about 3rd? I haven't beat the game yet(at the last chapter before phantasma castle) but everything before has been so awesome. Its basically the epilogue fans wanted to SC. Its also so versatile with how many characters you can choose and the moon/star doors. Its a damn good game.
I actually liked the game a bit more than I would've BECAUSE of it being focused around Kevin. After that game he easily became one of my all time favorite characters.
@Mxs yeah there were complaints but mostly from the hardcore EstellexJoshua fanbase that can’t get the Crossbell Arc because it hs no English version. I guess they just want an epilogue of them getting married or something, kinda like Cold Steel 3’s transition to Adult Rean
Lowe is so strong you can't skip him in SC the button to skip the fight before Weissman has a skip button but on PC it doesn't work so you have to beat Lowe

I honestly don't get the powerscalling in Trails, Leondhart is supposed to be at the level of McBurn but also weaker then Arionhrood significantly and Arionrhood is supposed to be weaker or equal to Aurelia so by this Aurelia should be able to beat Mcburn pretty easily but I doubt that strongly. They should have either not made Leondhart relative to Mcburn or not made Arionrhood relative to Aurelia or made Leondhart relative to Arionrhood. This one piece of Trails scalling always bugged me. I suppose it's maybe cause Leondhart got Kernviter after he fought Arionrhood so that would have been a significant boost but still Arionhrood says if he lived he would have gotten stronger meaning even with the Kernviter he still wasn't her level I beilive

Nakama power haha this thing is inconsistent and Rean solves anything with power of friendship anyways so imo atm falcom killed their "power charts"
@@ShinobiKev Actually haven't played anything past CS III demo cause I am not financially able to afford to buy any Trails games (well my parents since I don't have a job yet) I know all of this from RUclips videos of Trails lol watched it like anime. The irony is CS III demo being the first Trails game I played I thought Rean would be like a Naruto EOS case where he's blatantly more overpowered then most good guys especially cause they seemed to hype him up so much in the demo and Aurelia seemed like some random general background character I honestly thought if the two fought he'd destroy her lol how wrong I was

Another change from CS3 is Kreuger's title from Severing Chains to Severing Eclipse. Though Chains sounds better when you are bound by a contract. Eclipse is when you are free from a contract.

justo got into this series a couple of days ago, started it on hard mode cuz I'm not a pussy, got to this guy's boss fight at Grancel Castle and he destroyed my fucking ass, I made some pretty decent damage to him but after the first 4 full heals I realized I was supposed to lose... I can't believe such an amazing franchise with beautiful music become a waifu dating sim, it's kinda sad to see this franchise suffering. For me Cold Steel is just a non-canon spinoff games.
not a fan of the waifu sim either, and while IMO Sky is the peak of the series in terms of writing and emotion, Crossbell and Cold Steel still do stay faithful to the world and move the story along in an effective way, despite some problems with certain things (for me personally). id say the series is still going strong story and character wise. just sad that we will never see a canon relationship like we did with the amazing one that is joshua x estelle again.

on the one hand, i do agree the freedom of choice is doing more harm in making the story and character development weaker, than it is doing good in trying to be as inclusive of various shippers as possible. that said, falcom is not very good at being impartial of who they would've chosen as canon ship, and the story is still pretty good otherwise, so I'm not too bothered overall.
To think the only two who could beat him are Joshua and mcburn number 2 for a good reason
