    FAQs-
    Q: "Where is this?"
A: Our fire house is located in the town of Willow Street, just south of Lancaster City, Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
Q: "What is the spinning thing?"
A: That is called the "Roto-Ray," it is a spinning light designed to catch drivers attention.
Q: "Why is the call so far away?" or "Why does it take so long to get there?"
A: Many of our responses, or at least many of the ones that are uploaded are responding to assist other departments. Usually another firehouse can be seen or is passed by who is already on the call. We can reach the far end of our first due in West Lampeter Twp within 5 minutes, and in Providence Twp about 7.
Q: "What camera are you using?"
A: For dash cams I use a GoPro Hero 7, helmet cam videos I use a FireCam 1080

First time I’ve seen an emergency vehicle encounter a school bus offloading children. Excellent job!

It's pa law we must cut all lights and sirens when encountering a school bus loading or unloading kids

They did it by the textbook. You can pass all kinds of vehicles, but it's important to never pass a school bus with its stop sign out.

@@jonathan248 absolutely. Our SOP is to turn off all lights and sirens until the bus’s lights turn off.

I feel like the SOP of school bus drivers is if you see a fier truck w/ lights and sirens coming, to not let kids go out of the bus. Emergency vehicles should have priority, always. @@MrLazyAmerica

@@RealDoctorMuffins I get that, but state law in PA is School Buses have priority over an emergency vehicle. Kids’ safety is always the top priority.

What do you do when you encounter an Amish buggy as far as the siren?

I've seen it before on another video; on that one they cut the (electronic) siren and hit the brake on the Q.

Was that another fire station at 4:40? Aren't they closer to the call? Why not make them respond instead. Unless they were busy

You have to keep in mind that unfortunately almost all of this area is volunteer so you're reliant on who is available durning the day, dispatch may of toned them first and they may of "failed" which means nobody came when paged or it may be a weird situation with how their first due map is laid out 😊

Maybe that other apparatus that is on site first was from that station? They did have a bay door open.

      @zookethan 9 месяцев назад +6

Just a guess, but given the open door at the station and Engine 542 is on scene already when Engine 502 arrives, they did respond as well.

@@youmadbro742the way it works near me is each VFD “clears” over the radio to dispatch after they get toned out. And if they fail to clear or request manpower, they page us a second time. The tones are literally “Attention _____ and -second department-, Second page for _____-“
It’s a neat system, dunno if these departments have a similar one. I don’t doubt they do though.
