National Happy Singapore Day
SUIIIIIII
Tomorrow's here today is the best ndp song for my opinion
Happy B Day
Lol I’m also a Singaporean
happy national day :D
Honestly, I love One Singapore.
Idc if it’s cringe especially the rap part as teenagers has changed over the years (changed so much), I will still love it because just hearing a lot of people singing and also the part after “together we shine” is something I love the most.
One Singapore was my primary school jam 🥲 i remember dancing so enthusiastically with my cohort during ndp celebrations 😭😭
@@athanoraa me too!! p1 me went wild when they played it
Same
YES,idc what you say after 10 years i will still the dance for one singapore
i agree! it’s such a nostalgic song that will always have my heart no matter what people say about it 🥲
Where I Belong is a very underrated NDP song. Think its even better than Home
Shame that it isn't played much at NDPs
I think among every Singaporean they think its top tier too
@@jugemujugemugokonosurikire4735
I agree.
I actually think 'Where I Belong' is the BEST NDP song ever. Easier to follow & more upbeat than 'Home'
Wonder how many of us would agree on this too
Top tier for me in my list too
So agree, an SS tier for me
i wonder why cus the radio sure plays it often enough.
ndp celebration this year whole school deadass became a rave with tomorrow's here today, everyone jumping and screaming all LMAO teachers played it another time cause they realized how much we liked it THT slaps so hard
r u from my school 😭😭😭
@@nana.addict.t ij? if so then probs HAHAHH
Lmao same thing happened in my school. Tomorrow’s here today really is the Singaporean version of a rave song lol
@@Natt0chi frfr such good vibes
FR EVERYONE VIBED SO HARD TO IT
I was in the stream when you're watching my mosquito song animation. knew you couldn't survive the cringe and stop the song halfway lmao...
they should play “stand up for Singapore” when discussing about increasing birth rate
"reach out for your fellow man..." 😂😏
@@LamZL1 This is for the repeal of 377A
@@LamZL1 😂😂
man of culture I see
Unlikely when this country is so fucking expensive
I like how there are some peak ones and some that are just downright bad. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
Im surprised that Song for Singapore and Love at First Light ranked pretty lowly... both were ranked pretty well in most Singaporean eyes when it first came out
But I'm pretty happy that We will get there/一起走到 was ranked SSSSSS+, that song has been pretty much forgotten placed underneath Home and The Road Ahead
Backtracking with no ranking order to my numbering, the best (legendary-grade) NDP themes of all times should be the following six. 1. The Road Ahead (2021, Linying) 2. Love at First Light (2012, Olivia Ong) 3. Song for Singapore (2010, Corrine May) 4. We will get there (2002, Stefanie Sun) 5. Where I belong (2001, Tanya Chua) 6. Home (1998, Kit Chan) [And if anyone notice a trend, the above songs are all sang by our powerhouse home-grown female singers]
Sushi should sing all the ndp songs and make it into one video
You did my boys dirty for ranking "What Do You See" as C tier... The song encompasses the boy band vibe of that time period so well!
The original "Home" will always be my ultimate favourite NDP song.
"What do you see" is an S tier song man you done it dirty
I totally agree, he did not listen to the guitar solo part. IT IS SO GOOD.
the CHORUS
@@YellowFr3ak4ever Nah, the one that gets me is the guitar solo.
HARD AGREE
@@YellowFr3ak4ever SEE THE MOON AND THE STARSSSS
Tbh the road ahead is one of the best ndp songs ever
Mine too
It’s one of the ndp songs ever
Not ever. But at least for the past 10-15 years
Yassssss
I will say this, imo the best NDP songs do one of two things:
1) Evoke the true emotion towards Singapore that we all have, that even though it's a rough place sometimes we still call it home and love it deep down. Songs like Home and The Road Ahead do that perfectly, and in most instances this is the easier of the two to do (although it has to be relatable; Home is legendary because it perfectly evokes that love for Singapore no matter where you are)
2) Be an anthem, something people can rally behind. Songs like Count on Me Singapore fall into this category, where it is a celebration of Singapore and bringing people together to do it. The problem with this, as we see with songs like One Singapore (2013), is that you can't modernize it too much or it becomes cringe. Tomorrow's Here Today may not be my personal favourite, but I appreciate that it is still trying to be a rallying anthem while not doing too many new things to be cringey.
That's why most of the songs from 2012-2020 were mediocre and forgettable, they didn't do either of those things enough.
Think Sad Coffee theorized that it's too difficult coming up with hits annually, & back in the 20th century when we say that the NDP songs were better, there weren't new ones every year, unlike now
We Will Get There, 2002, will always be my favourite NDP song, not just 'cause it's a great song, but also 'cause it's somehow nostalgic for me :)
1:52 The fact that Sushi gave What Do You See C tier ;(
It deserves S tier man such a great song 👍
Yeah, it is a great song
Agree!!
Glad to see so many people agreeing on one of my fav NDP songs
Woah, thanks for all the likes ya'll! It's so good to see so many agreements!
@@dingus42 I am as glad as you too.
When he played Singapore Town I was literally like “ok not bad”, then it got to the chorus and I was like “OHH DIS SONG YESSSS BEAUTIFUL”
I was forced to sing and dance along to one singapore when i was p2. I still have trauma
oh shit fellow 05?
@@ThyRandomGuy Count me in
@@ThyRandomGuy ayyy 05?
we had to sing a bit of it on national day
none of us did
What a weakling!!!!!! You got trauma from this?
Petition to get dubstep version of all the ndp songs.
petition for jazz version bro all the cafe can play in august
@@kaeyaalberich1605 Technically there's already lofi versions on spotify but jazz would be cool as well haha
dubstep is dead since 2012
@@VicugnaPacos didnt know that lol
@@kaeyaalberich1605
Just wait for 2050, clearly there are going to be a bunch of songcopywriters who will remake the ndp songs.
Cool, definitely more entertaining than the one I did last year. I am glad you also like Singapore Town, it was my favorite one back in primary school, and felt sad when they stopped playing it in secondary school. (although it probably needs an update given how many new things came to Singapore in the last 15 years)
Reach Out For The Skies was our elementary graduation day song and I'm not even from Singapore. Happy National Day to you guys!
What country are you from? :)
@@PearlPurrincess I'm from the Philippines!

I personally love reach out for the skies. It doesnt get play much though which saddens me. The dance and the song is just top tier iconic.
Same for where i belong, they should play that more often too
Road Ahead last year is literally a Favourite amongst my schoolmates because we were all made to do the workout last year and the “See this Island, every grain of sand” move was remembered by LITERALLY EVERYONE.
I actually really enjoyed this. Not alot of people recognize Singapores amazing songs. Alot of songs have meanings behind it to represent Singapores past
OUR SCHOOL BLASTED ALL THESE SONGS CONTINUOUSLY FOR 3 HOURS 😭😭 I DREADED NATIONAL DAY
Lol same

I'm in RP and they didn't play them...
I prefer the Mr Brown’s version of “What do you see”. It is much more Singaporean than the Original. It’s also very hilarious. 😁
if the road ahead isnt S tier im gonna flip, will edit my comment once im done watching the video
edit: didnt even need to finish watching the video but anyway sushii valid as hell
the road ahead is a song i would unironically put in my playlist thats how good it is
yasss the road ahead is a song that has so much passion put into it
The Road Ahead will age very well.
no one is gonna talk about 7:41?? like how it was so well-edited???!!
Sushii, you're super funny leh. Have been binge watching your vids over the long weekend. Dayum, you're awesome
Low key Tomorrow’s Here Today is a banger. Of the more “anthem” style songs it is one of the best.
Love this vid, my fellow Singaporean!!! You could've made this 30 mins long, I would've watched the whole thing!!!
i like the part when he said one shitty song was plain there was an image of prata with curry but the curry was removed when he said "plain"
2007 also had a 2nd NDP song called Will You which I quite liked although it sounds more pop-ish
Petition for sushi to sing all the songs in s and ss tier
2016 best, love at first light is so nostalgic
THE DISRESPECT ON ONE SINGAPORE
AND IN A HEARTBEAT LIKE BRUH
Finally someone made a vid of this
Fav is , love at first sight
Hmmm did you forget Moments of Magic? Obscure but definitely another gem by Tanya ahha
I can't believe this guy put Stronger Together in Tier B.I'm so mad rn.
I do hope that Jeffrey gets well soon.
One Singapore got one part sounds like some NS song we were forced to sing - the OH OH OH part
fun fact: NDP 2013 (aka the year of One Singapore) was directed by Selena Tan aka one of the Dim Sum Dollies. Because of that alot of the people who worked on NDP that year were theater people, including the writer of One Singapore, who used to write alot for the theater company W!LD RICE. How do I know this? I was apart of the kids cast for W!LD RICE's annual christmas pantomimes from 2011-2014, so when you asked, "who wrote this (One Singapore)?" I actually do know the answer to that.
Think this is also the 1st NDP song to use the millennial whoop?
one thing i gotta say, in a heartbeat sounds like something you would hear in high school musical when gabriella and troy got in some drama between each other cause gabriella moving out LMAOOOO
imagien being a kid proud to be a singaporean taking part in a ndp song video only for some “sushi kor kor” guy to roast you 20 years later
The Road Ahead should be in the SSS* tier because it's superior to all the other NDP songs 😭😭
The Old NDP songs: bruh
our singapore deserves better 😔😔
honestly i wish they’ll make a rock song for ndp
What Do You See (2009) is your best bet. It uses guitars, drums and those instruments that make a good rock song!
@@alezlukee I’m sure 2005 used e-guitars as well
2016's Tomorrow's here Today comes close too
I'm very disappointed you did not roast, I mean, review, Moments of Magic.
during the National Day celebration at my school, we all got hyped and me and my friends started singing loudly until we lost our voices
I love how most of the verses don’t exist in our heads, just choruses….well, except Home. That is the definition of Singaporean nostalgia
Ayo I love Home, The Road Ahead and The First light
Me too
The way he used plain prata as a symbol of bland LOL
3:44 I was at that bus stop before
This video is just sushii vibing to ndp songs and getting hit with copyright strikes
the uncle went into the universe
ive been waiting somebody like you to make a video like this-
back here in 2024
yeah happy national day Singapore! also question what was your fav part about the national day and what part do you think they can work on :) -totally did not want to fall asleep and some point-
Sushii just cured my anxiety and depression
What do you see chorus really hits me deeply please do it some justice
5:35 Mosquito Song-Singapore starts playin
My favourite is love at first light
The road ahead is UNDENIABLY ONE OF THE BEST
"I'll put it in S." That's what he said.
Happy bday Singapore!Majulah!
2021 deserves a guiness record 👏👏👏👏
2021 song>>>>>
My whole school just like started singing the road ahead like straight up shouting
I think sing a song for singapore and tomorrows here today are pretty good
I started this stupid thing last year in my school where we would just randomly stop outside classes and do the hand thing and scream SEE THIS IIIIISSSSLAAAAANDDDD
LMAO
Its not even good bro 2006 + 2009 + 2011 wipes the floor
@@beepbeep5153 did i ask tho
As a millennial, all the late 90s and early 2000s are SS+ pls (except shine on me, idek that song wut). But holy shit, The Road Ahead is fucking amazing, I actually cried wtf.
Imlike the "we are fire trough the light"
Watch as sushii listens to stronger together a bit more and starts to like it.
I have a phobia of listening to some of these songs already at the malls, supermarket, subway stations some hawker centers and its too much already and really one whole month is a lot. A looott!
when you pulled that merlion next to her hahahahahah. that slide in too fast for me bro. 🤣
Honestly the road ahead is just legit a masterpiece bro like its da best
It's starting to bother me that there's a video lag lol. like I hear the words come out of Sushi's mouth a split second before I see his mouth move. could you guys like... shift the video forward by a few frames while editing lol. that'll do the trick.
Stand up for Singapore has become a meme for tiko pek.
i like the part when he says oh yeah and wooh ohoh 2:35 its so funny
SUSHII OPPA SHOULDVE INCLUDED THE NON OFFICIAL NDP SONG BY SGAG MAN
My personal ranking:
1. The Road Ahead
2. Home
3. We Will Get There
my fav is 2019’s ndp song
idk lmao
love this vid lol
Brother you forgot Groove Coverage-Million Tears
2:30 oh oh oh oh
#Dance2TheRoadAhead Yassss I'm pretty sure that's like the best SG theme song
Everyone was rocking out to it when we heard it in our class last year
Man i would have loved to see you rate 5 stars arising theres just that one part thats so good
what u think of Home MV (extended version) - 39 Singaporean singers (2011)?
Ay let's go , right after ndp then we another video from sushi.
NOOOO IN A HEARTBEAT
I remember dancing to home in Kindergarten for I don’t know what reason and we also had to SING. WHY.
Either ways my friends are singing The Road Ahead non-stop because they just celebrated National Day while I was dying having my feet burned from the ground because of a funeral
i needed this for my dinner
when road ahead is ss+ but singapore town is a 💀💀😂
Anyone thinks that One United Singapore by Stefanie Sun is underrated?
The guy staring at the old uncle in the 2012 NDP is in Jian Hao tan
Finally someone who appreciates this years song for what it is
5:45 Here we have Miss Merlion ✨✨
