    It's great how when Shappi reveals that Robert calls David "My David", David looks genuinely horrified haha XD

    I always love seeing Robert and David together, but the "my David part" was my favorite moment of the series

    Funny thing is that in Richard Herrings Leicester Square Theatre Podcast interview with Robert Webb. He said "My David" before muttering "fucking hell"

    I've noticed that ANYTHING that David Mitchell presents or is a regular in, whether it's The Bubble, Was It Something I Said or Would I Lie To You, it is guaranteed that Robert always pops up on at least one episode! You can tell that they love working together by just looking at how they interact with each other and enjoy each other's sense of humour. And you can see that they are genuine friends because they were best man at each other's wedding.

    • @supremebuffalo6322

      easy guest I guess, Producer just asks David to get his mate Robert to come on, and they have a laugh and its a day's pay. Everybody wins

    • @beckyboulton2362
      @beckyboulton2362 9 лет назад +6

      Supreme Buffalo Must be brilliant, doing work that you enjoy doing a job that you enjoy with your best mate isn't it? Why can't I have that? haha

    • @supremebuffalo6322
      @supremebuffalo6322 9 лет назад +4

      Whats that saying? "The day you find a job you love is the day you stop working"

    • @beckyboulton2362
      @beckyboulton2362 9 лет назад +3

      Yeah, I remember Ant and Dec saying that the best thing about their job is waking up everyday with the thought of them feeling as if they are not working each day because they are with their best friend.

    • @501archer
      @501archer 9 лет назад +1

      +Supreme Buffalo Exactly. David does more of these panel type shows than Robert and it's not like Robert is getting tons of work these days so it's totally understandable that he'd be a frequent guest on whatever David is hosting.

  • @oliverholmes-gunning2400

    The premise of this show sounds like something Mitchell and Webb would dream up for one of their sketches.

    • @OnlyTheGreatMany
      @OnlyTheGreatMany 8 лет назад +22

      Except all the news stories are about horrible tragedies and murders and it's very awkward. Would have made a great sketch actually.

    • @oliverholmes-gunning2400
      @oliverholmes-gunning2400 8 лет назад +10

      Exactly! And it would end with one of those beautifully awkward moments as David Mitchell cheerfully reveals the last news item: "Robert Webb's Entire Family Brutally Murdered" or something like that and Webb slowly collapses, sobbing, with Mitchell looking uncomfortably at the camera. It would have made a pretty good sketch, but makes a terrible tv show premise instead. I'm disappointed M and W agreed to be in something this crap.

      Before their sketch shows, my US Midwestern mom who homeschooled me used to have me collect implausible news stories and then write a fake one, and the rest of the family would try to guess the fake story.
      It was a lot of fun for me as an ADHD kid interested in reading and writing, and excellent practice in mimicking the tone and format of a formal news story.

  • @rondon9897

    It is really irritating that Robert Webb isn't as frequently seen on TV as David. They're both fantastic but i feel Robert just isn't on enough.

    • @thesimpsons17
      @thesimpsons17 10 лет назад +36

      I think the problem Webb has is people see him as dumb because of the character he plays in Peep Show so he doesn't get the kind of offers Mitchell does who is seen as intelligent. In actual fact they are both equally intelligent and hilarious, its just one of those things unfortunately. Don't think we have to worry bout him too much hes doing alright for himself lol

    • @kenzyfiona
      @kenzyfiona 10 лет назад +17

      thesimpsons17 That's ridiculous! People know Robert and know that unlike David, he is nothing like his character. It could probably be because Robert has i think 2 children and is busy, maybe? And if that were true David would at least would try to have him on "Would I Lie To You?" again lol. It's probably by his choice that he hasn't been TV as frequently as David has. I'm sure that he will come back with something. But yeah, he is doing pretty well as of now :)

    That's not right, that if nobody guesses correctly, David keeps all the points. They should be given to charity or humanely destroyed to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

    • @CyrusTheFrog
      @CyrusTheFrog 9 лет назад +22

      I agree, one can't be too careful. At the very least, I would like some assurances that the proper taxes have been paid on all points, and that the rest of the hard-working UK citizenry aren't subsidizing these points while the fat cats sit back and collect.

    • @DodderingOldMan
      @DodderingOldMan 9 лет назад +34

      +tom wagner I've got a confession. I work in TV, on this show in fact, as a cameraman, and once this series ended I, um, may have taken the leftover points home. And then... I'm really ashamed of this... I foolishly put them next to some of the nega-points I stole from Pointless, and they cancelled each other out. They kind of annihilated each other, like matter and anti-matter.
      ...Sorry...

    • @CyrusTheFrog
      @CyrusTheFrog 9 лет назад +11

      Buffoon1980 Well, the past is the past, and I hope that the point-implosion incident has sorted out the Karmic aspects. I hope this whole thing has made it clear to you and everyone else that no good can come of the misappropriation of points funded by the license fee.

    Too much Robert and David and not nearly enough Shappi.

    Unhappy Shappi? She seemed subdued and didn't smile or laugh as much as the others, especially in the first half.

      She started out as a soccer player for Queen' s Park Rangers, but none of her teammates were able to run past her as she happens to be Lady Diana's tallest cousin.

    The concept of this show is pretty lame, but they have really good casting.

      I think the concept is great! (it's obviously a lot better when originally broadcast and the news stories are very familiar to the viewer)

    I don't quite get why they put the ladies there. Rob would have been more than enough for this show.

    The show is a bit on the boring side, and it costs three people a week of their lives...

      I think most of the contestants see it more as a holiday. Must be nice to go without all the media and stuff for a whole week, and getting paid to do so!

      +soberhippie That's why they didn't make a second series. It's not a bad idea but it doesn't translate into exciting television.

      soberhippie I'm sure they had an orgy.
