Hi, You can change just the chain and the tensioner . They sell the kit ,just use the old chain to pass the new one trough. I now know I guy that comes to your house and does it there and them.
IF U cant find any new tensioner just get some round bar or a bolt and try to rebuild it .try to put atleas 1/2 inch on it and try to weld it finish it with a grider to make it smooth,
Richard Holloway had the same issue on mine and all i did was change out the tensioner and it fixed the problem! The reason for that is your tensioner is worn out thats why its not pushing the timing chain in place. Let me know if it worked..goodluck.

Never thought about that, using the old chain to pass the new. Won’t have to desensamble the engine. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 saved me at least $800
