Hey everyone this guy don't tell you that if you are taking that 7mm bolt off on the passenger side and you have to take that passenger side airbag cover off. There are 3 bolts you HAVE to take off underneath it. You have to drop the glovebox to get to them. They are 3 black 8mm or 5/16. Depending on your preference. It will save you a lot of headache. And you won't tear up your airbag cover like I did. Just wanting to help everyone out.
Pull the airbag out of the glovebox, makes life so much easier. Open the glovebox completely and you'll find 3 10mm bolts if you look directly up; they're in the shape of a triangle. Undo those puppies and from the outside GENTLY release pressure around the edges of the airbag cover, then reach back inside and push the airbag outward just enough to get the other 7mm hidden behind the cover to completely remove the silver air vent trim panel. All of this needs to be done with the negative terminal of the battery disconnected. This way you're not flexing the living bejesus out of the trim panels and risk cracking or warping them. Save your breath telling me it's dangerous. I'm a Ford technician and have done this at least 100 times to put Sirius add on's into them and I've never had an issue except for having to reset a clock.
Joe~ I have a 2010 F150 Lariat. I would like to wrap the fake silver area by the ac vents and under the steering wheel. As a Ford Tech you would know the best way to do this. Can you give me some hints....like where screws may be etc? Thank you
Could you include some model numbers for the Scoshe or Metra kits for this particular dash? My son and I are trying to weigh our options for installing 2 12's under the seat and we need to see what we need to buy to do this. Any information would be appreciated.
Instruction how to remove panel is good, however the speed fan control is stock on high wont turn off is that the dash panel or need different part to resolve the speed control knob
Are there are RCA pre outs on the back of the head unit of a factory 2013 14 XLT Ford F150 radio I'm wanting to add a amp and sub I've already upgraded the speakers in the doors I would like to keep the factory radio but I do not want to have to take anything apart if the head unit does not have what I need to tie into the amp
With my vehicle radio being same as per this video, can the radio display screen "only" be replaced? My radio etc. works fine but the screen has gone bonkers, and Ford says the screen need replacing. Whom can I purchase the screen from, and then I'll follow your video instructions to change on my own. Appreciated.
So is there a blend door actuator under the dash? My 2013 F150 5.0 has one bad I think. Makes the usual loud clicking noise under the dash when switching heat to cold air. Changed the one behind the stereo already but didn't fix it
anyone know the part # for the factory radio/cd player with sync? My cd player skips and rarely plays cds and is hard to load/eject cds in my 2013 XLT 5.0. Cleaner discs were useless and would get stuck too. Ebay is showing different factory stereos for the 2013.
How do you remove the dash panel and radio in a 2014 silverado work truck? I have the screen but no navigation or onstar. Also what's the best shallow mount sub
Those stock stereos are junk. Replaced mine in my 2013 after the up, down, left, right setting buttons stuck in and wouldn't pop back out. The CD player quit working as well.
I've replaced all mine twice now along with the water pump and heater motor...twice. These 09-14 are junk. So many issues with them. Shocked when I found over 1000 issues on the forums.
Next is to remove the seats and entire dash if you need to access the heater core. Mine leaks where the heater hoses attach. First Ford truck and definitely my last Ford truck. So many issues with these shitbox 09-14 models.
Fantastic video, mate! Thank you for posting this. Straight to the point without missing important details.
Exactly what I needed to see to make an alteration to the left panel with the AC vent. Well done!!

Great video thanks for the help I'm rty to replace the heat and a/c controls on my 2013 and will save $400 doing this myself
Please show how to remove silver side panels. My truck still has both 7mm screws at the top holding the panel in place.

By removing the Dash on the F-150, 2013. Does this give you access to replace the USB Plug just down below?
I have the exact same truck and factory sync/stereo. Do you know if thier are rca's in the back to plug in a sub?
Is there a way to remove the ‘drop down’ USB (and other terminals) cover right below this panel?
Thanks. You're video helped me figure that the overlapping panel wasn't letting it clip back in place

If you have dual control, there's a second blend door against the floor for the passenger side. Its even harder to replace... Good luck.

Try Rockford fosgate p3 slim or there powered subwoofer
Why do engineers need to overcomplicate shit so badly?
This is different than my 2013 stx.....

sweet Drinking game. For every time he says "ahhh" or "Go Ahead" you must drink. Unscripted videos from "professionals" CAN be useful!
Naw
Metric bolts on an American truck? Shouldn't it be an SAE bolt?
A seven millimeter screw, equates to a 9/32 screw.

This was a gay vid
