    Need the same video but with the tenor solo in there. I know it’s improvised but still it would be nice

      Hey, thanks for the question. The tenor solo was improvised, so originally it wasn't written down. However, a few people have asked about it, so I wrote out a transcription of the solo here, if you're interested. esquartet.com/sheetmusic/sugar_rum_cherry_solo_transcription.pdf

      Hi! The recording sticks pretty close to what's written, I just provided chord changes in case someone wanted to try their own bass line instead.

      Hi! You can find the sheet music here: esquartet.com/repertoire.html
      On that page you can also download a play-along recording that has all the parts except for Alto Sax, look for the column that says "minus Alto 2". So you can play along with us!

      This arrangement is based on Duke Ellington's version, which is titled "Sugar Rum Cherry": ruclips.net/video/ekigfOROsc0/видео.html

      The "Cherry" should give it away. What is a plum cherry? It's either a cherry or a plum. ;)

    This is good but it lacks a true alto part. The alto part is really a sopranno II part as written.

    • @Harlem55
      @Harlem55 3 года назад

      @Keanan The problem is that the alto notes fall, for the most part, above the "sweet spot" for the alto range. Think what it would look like if we used the alto clef. Rather, the alto part in this is properly a low soprano part.

      Hi. The tenor solo was improvised during the recording, so it was never written down. The chord changes are written in the part so people can create their own solo.
