The zone cluster which you died to goes way back to vanilla Shadow of Chernobyl, it was placed there so you would go (coming from the other side) into these underground garage where a bunch of mono would have waited for you

@@samourtr Not really. It derives from the "Zone", and someone who goes on to the zone can be called zoner says my ass, also he adds that the recent "Boomer, Zoomer, Coomer" terms has had its influence as well. I mixed them all out and shat it out. Why am I even explaining this lmao
One lesson I've learned from Gamma - only go for artefacts in anomalies you know well. Army Warehouses and Garbage ones for me, personally. The rest just aren't worth it, especially once you've got the ones you've need fully empowered.

because the anomalies are usually broken or bugged in some way and that's the only reason they're a "challenge"

They work perfectly as intended, the issue is that people don’t know how to throw bolts correctly lmao, also you can hear certain anomalies and there is always a slight visual indicator to their presence (in every case), I.e. whirligigs having the leaves flying around, burners having heat distortion, etc.
Running in an electrical field with the minimal electrical res : not a good idea 😢

@@MrAsmoka I mean, this is literally a wall of death that i doubt even the white(electro res) SSP 99 suit will allow you to cross it. It's seriously fixed in there as a wall of death, i doubt those 4 slots would help you there's at least 2 anomalies of thickness to that wall but i think it's actually 3 and they're in a "teeth"/"zip" pattern so like :-:-:-:-: where every dot or dash is one electro anomaly. No gaps between them, every anomaly is touched by at least 3 other anomalies (2 if we're talking about the ones touching walls) and the ones in the middle each touch 4 other anomalies.
Yeah, no, this is a death wall. Not even white SSP suit with 4 electric res attachments/arts will help you out with this one.

@@Gobble-mike-hawk Yeah but that's beyond the point, and the point was you can't just walk in, whatever suit you have. As you said if you want to get anywhere near the other side you need to strategize it first there, throw a bolt and then sprint-jump through.

One thing regarding quest/certain faction NPC's I found out the hard way is that if you set the random stalker quad chance to 100 it will make a bunch of NPC's disappear for some reason, but only if you have that faction unchecked as an option for which factions can spawn random squads.
Engine still has squad limit and every time new squad spawns old one gets deleted. As far as i understand separate traders are one man squads and can dissapear also.

I remember completing my Ironman run after a little less than a week of game time and choosing not to keep playing and just save my file somewhere, he survived too much to die after that gauntlet

Hmmm, glad you called it out as I have been noticing the same - traditionally difficult areas are easy and light on enemies and it feels like something was messed up. Did toggling mutant spawns help or make any actual change? Is there an option I should be turning on?
Traditionally difficult areas are either difficult by virtue of scripts or progression based on the games (atleast in the original stalker games)
Then Anomaly removes some of those scripts and changes how maps and areas preform due to their Location in the whole map
Then Mods + GAMMA change balance of Mutants and their spawns and rates change it even more.
Hell there's a mod included in GAMMA that remove Exo-Skeleton guys from southern areas, which means all the Southern AI are usually pretty weak when under fire or attack by mutants.
I havent played for a long time, I started around the end of last month. but that area you tried to go through is a hard spawn electric anomaly. I found a way where you can pass through it safely, which is at the far left. You would need to jump over the rise (if you don't, you will get stuck and die) after setting off the anomaly. Sucks your run ended like that. A Svarog detector would have helped you in showing you there was a lot of anomalies.
Apparently another comment has said that it's from Vanilla Shadow Of Chernobyl, Which makes you have to go through a Garage in the Story that leads to a Scripted Monolith Spawn/Ambush (But in SOC you'd come from/approach from the other side in the first place)

I remember Death Lamp from 'Road to the North" modpack, back before Anomaly was made.
Nice to see it still being in the game...
The very first time I encountered this artefact in the Anomaly - as a Dutyer, in Zaton, near the gas station anomalies. I don't know how to explain it, nor I was able to replicate it by finding it more times in different runs... but. The moment I picked it up - I found myself high up in the air, near the huge rift (where snorks are). Like I was teleported or something. The height was lethal, except I was in an exoskeleton (no fall damage), since it's Zaton, meaning late-game. At that moment I thought that this "Death Lamp" has a feature of trying to kill you if you touch it.
I am dumbfounded. What logic must one utilize upon entering a deep electra zone with a whopping NO electric protection?

In Shadow of Chernobyl this anomaly kills you instantly. Its basically a wall.
I think even npcs you come here with tell you that this is a dead end and they should find another way around.
I also died to this exact anomaly, felt weird to me too. I think this road might be "blocked" to make you go the longer way around. Meaning its designed to always kill you.
You would've already known that if you played Shadow of Chernobyl.

@@bennib6697 It's apart of the Vanilla Story from SOC and has been kept in. Was made to make you use a detour in the Story to fight a Scripted Monolith Ambush.
Hard to remember but even still Electrical Anomalies shouldn't be messed with when you have low-resistance either way.

I'm playing Ironman with 0.7 stalker pop, 0.5 mutants pop, respawn 3 hours and stalker size squad 1.3. This way I have encounters of enemy squad from 5 to 12 enemies, sometimes there are many squads of different factions one after the other, so at the end I have something like 30 kills. And with population of 0.7 I don't hit on performance too much. But the key setting is setting to OFF the offline combat, because it really makes no difference for the gameplay, but a lot of difference for the Zone population and enemy encounter (this is the default for EFP too).
Try something similar. I can't wait to see your next playthrough.
that electro wall I just ignore at all times
Not only did you literally just casually walk into an anomaly wall and then asked "did one spawn on me?", but it's also an anomaly wall that's always there, like, it's literally fixed. This wall of electro is always there, and it's always a wall, it has no holes and if you'd just spend 1 second looking at it (you can even see it on the video) it stretches from building to building and covers the entire area between them, it literally just killed two mutants and you walked into it while looking at it discharge quietly like 3 times before you got your first hit.
Seriously, i thought you just had a stroke. Cause i dunno what other end did you expect walking into that wall of death like that. I mean, starting at 22:25 you can clearly see every single little electro anomaly that makes this wall blink, you could easily count them and find out that not only there are no holes, they're even put in a zig-zag/zip/teeth pattern so that every three anomalies touch forming even a double wall. It's super uncrossable and yet you, looking straight at it, walked right into it. It was there in SoC and is still there in Anomaly, it was specifically made to be uncrossable, and i don't think you could sprint through it in a full electro-proof SSP suit while healing constantly. It's literally a two-anomaly thick wall with no holes.
So yeah, i guess this is how you died- suicide.

tbf im of the mind that the storyline sucks for difficulty progression normally anyways, you go from wandering around the swamps and quickly wandering into agroprom to sitting around waiting for a helmet to going and fighting tonnes of monolith, feels like it needs more inbetween, more fluff and missions that arent just raiding different locations
I very recommend new Arrival mod, it makes anomalies way more noticeable, damn

4:29 I didn't even face monolith soldiers but right here my game froze, i went back and stumbled on sin stalkers in top gear protected with artifacts, they had their weapons raised which makes me believe they had known i was coming
If you were in GAMMA it might've spawned a Bounty Hunter Squad (?) I dunno
You might want to try clicking install on the mod pack again, all my spawns have been normal so far. (after watching more, it's probably just full sim with low pop)
Dude.. you had like.. 2% protection from Electra anomaly. If in this mod Electra anomaly has a base value max_start_power = 1.0 and your character have shock_protection 0.02 protection, that imply it would deal precisely 0.98 damage to you, which is equal to 1 hit being so strong that it will completely immobilize, and second hit will kill you with guarantee. That's why you really need shock protection if you really want to play with EXO and armor plates. You can keep avoiding these anomalies ignoring shock protection like you did most of a time... but eventually THIS will happen.

When I just did the radar raid there were two bloodsuckers on the way in and 26 monolith on the way out
you need to look at your setting there is a distance that the simulation works on is not the entire zone, you have to put the distance the default is 140 meters around you
Kinda wish they had more dynamic animations for going into the Dying state.

What I'd do to see some ragdoll into dying state stuff, or playing dead even. But maybe that'd be stretching the engine a little thin

Klean, I am surprised you don’t use Magazines addon for weapons. It is fully supported by GAMMA, but switched off by default.
He said he doesn't use it because Stalker's gameplay is not really meant to be used with a magazine system, and using it just feels weird to him
yea recently in my playthrough, everything north of army warehouse was pretty much dead. I've had very similar experience as you, except I did have monolith guarding the generator for X-8. Something is wrong for sure

Has gamma been updated? This looks a lot better fidelity wise than when I played a few months ago.
Exos and electricity dont mix. They have the worst electric resistances due to their frame and electronics.
Take a svarog next time, youd have avoided the anomalies
Which mod is that detector model and animation from? It looks like the dltx device pack but i dont recall its name, nor do i remember it changing the hold animation. Actually a list of the extra mods you use on top of gamma would be pretty sick.
