I love this film. I think what sets it apart from other giant snake films is the combination of animatronics and cgi, as opposed to pure cgi used by other films.
Im not super sure about that, I work a lot with anacondas. the eyes are not correct, the look too human and too far forward on the face. And the colors are movie magic, there’s only two types of anacondas, the green and yellow kind, and this one looks nothing like either, maybe if it was really old and about to shed it could but it would be a stretch. The snakes we see in one scene are real anacondas.

Winston always made solid animatronics, and the cgi is decent for 1997. I think the only problem is the vast difference in movement between the two… in cgi the snake is a hyper-speed parkour ninja, but in practical it’s a slow lumbering creature.

The CGI on the reveal shot still looks insanely good! Better than big budget films in 2021

I love this film. I think what sets it apart from other giant snake films is the combination of animatronics and cgi, as opposed to pure cgi used by other films.
My fear of snakes exists because of all the times I watched this film as a child. It scared me, but it was so entertaining!
