Rebecca Landwehr discusses municipal funding instruments for green roofs and façades in Germany. Her presentation covers the varying levels of expertise and handling of funding instruments among cities, as well as the multiple benefits of building greening. She outlines both direct financial subsidies and indirect promotion methods, highlighting a comprehensive municipal promotion strategy that includes demanding, promoting, and informing. The current state of funding opportunities in Germany is also presented.
Pavel Dostal addresses the benefits of green roofs and walls, which are often privately funded despite their societal advantages. His presentation explores the need for regulation and incentivization of building greening at municipal and national levels. Using various examples from the Czech Republic and other countries, he discusses traditional and novel approaches to supporting building greening initiatives by both public and private sectors.
