- One of my favorite running jokes in all of Fantasy High is Fig's "relationship" with Goldenrod... I mean Goldenhoard.

tbf goldenrod was a pretty chill dude that fig just liked messing with until the big reveal
They technically went to aguefort first and then he killed himself so they had to find someone else. I feel like Brennan maybe was leading them there.
The way this nickname actually got her out of trouble several times simply because it drove him away is just the best.

I like to think Goldenhoard being the Big Bad wasn't originally Brennan's plan, but Fig gave him so much shit he became the only logical choice to want to destroy them all.

fun fact: goldenrod flowers can symbolise caution. admittedly they can also symbolise encouragement and good fortune, but i'm choosing to ignore those- though, they could also fit if u stretch it a little

What I find interesting is that Goldenrod correctly wondered if Adaine has a medical condition (anxiety attacks) 2:53. The Big Bad, someone who hates children in general, still is more aware of her condition than her own parents.
Can you imagine if he wasn't the bad guy? We would have him being flirted upon by Fig and feeling very uncomfortable for the whole second season. This and Gorgug's "are you my dad" thing was the funniest thing

I wonder if it was originally Brennan’s plan to make Goldenhoard the ultimate bad guy in the end. Prior to Fig deciding she hated him, he was usually portrayed as being very reasonable and compassionate. I wonder if her vendetta against him changed the direction Brennan planned for him.
