  • "Spit Out the Bone" is a standout track from Metallica's tenth studio album, *Hardwired... to Self-Destruct*, released on November 18, 2016. The song delves into themes of technological singularity and the fear of humans becoming obsolete due to the rise of machines. Written by James Hetfield, the lyrics paint a dystopian picture where technological advancements surpass and eventually replace humanity, emphasizing a future where machines eliminate human inefficiency.
Musically, "Spit Out the Bone" harks back to Metallica's thrash metal roots, featuring a fast tempo, aggressive drumming, and rapid guitar riffs. Its intensity and complexity have drawn comparisons to the band's earlier work from the 1980s, making it one of the more vigorous and intricate tracks on the album.
Critics and fans alike have praised the song for its energetic composition and return to the band's classic sound. It has been highlighted as one of the album's standout tracks and has become a favorite in Metallica's live performances, known for its powerful and electrifying renditions.
The band members contributing to the track include James Hetfield on vocals and rhythm guitar, Lars Ulrich on drums, Kirk Hammett on lead guitar, and Robert Trujillo on bass guitar. The title "Spit Out the Bone" serves as a metaphor for the removal of the human element in favor of machines, suggesting that humans will be discarded once they are deemed unnecessary in the wake of technological evolution.
"Spit Out the Bone" is celebrated for its return to Metallica's thrash metal roots while addressing contemporary concerns about technology and humanity, solidifying its place as a modern classic in the band's discography.

Nice reaction. :) Metallica always have a round stage now a days. Except for festivals etc. A huge round stage with a big whole in the middle that can fit up to 1 000 fans. :) The band move a round on the stage a lot, and Lars have more than one drumkit of which he goes back and forth to. And they are facing each other a lot and it seems to be a very good spirit in the band the last few years. :)
