There might be a fan in there but that plate is probably a Peltier radiator, a type of thermoelectric cooler. There could be a fan in there to help move heat quicker but in general that plate will get very cold and resting on your skin helps you feel a bit cooler. Not sure why this video doesn't care to explain what technology it uses or how it works. Literally doesn't even go into the device itself but just talks about how to clip it on and when to use it. Come on. The title is also misleading because it is not an air conditioner in the usual context.
The other side of the peltier gets hot. Peltiers have 2 sides it takes heat from side and sends it to another, the other side needs to get cooled to reduce power consumption
@@BN99239 yes you'll find the same setup in chips, peltiers can get freezing cold pretty quick if given the power but I don't know if they'll be effective in cooling the whole body, the reon t shirt thing with just the fan is gonna work way better because its gonna suck air out from the tshirt and pull more air in through the holes, that will not only give you a breeze but also dry sweat quicker
@@shivamarya5225 Exactly, that's what I was thinking. Sure, the plate will get very cold but it's not enough to move that much heat. I guess it could give you the sensation of being cooler, such as holding an ice cube in each hand on a hot day. There are much cheaper belt fans that are exactly that, just moving air.
@@BN99239 no not belt fans, they're just portable fans which has the same limitation, this certainly moves a lot of heat, a battery has a lot of energy. but the problem is its limited to a small area. The better option is the shirt they made with this thing because its air tight in certain places and open in places where you sweat more like underarms, when you attach a suction to the shirt its gonna pull air from the underarms and that's gonna dry sweat and make you cool. What we really need is tshirt is like that with more powerful fans, exactly like how ventilated car seats work and those seats actually work in it keeping cool
119 ponds= almost $150 in American dollars. I'm old and need something to cool me down while I'm mowing my lawn and want to know if that thing will work for me or is it just a waste of money? I was interested when it was announced several years ago until I realized it wasn't sold in America.
Gives a whole new meaning for "Sending chills down my spine" Missed opportunity there Troy. j/k. We know bone is a good heat conductor(relative to a human body), how creative and smart of them to applicate this.
I have the third version and my biggest issue was the battery life, I'm glad the newer versions have much longer battery life and I might upgrade to this!
@muamnfattah6353 I haven't used it in super hot days yet(haven't had one to experience it with), but on hot days it's nice and helps cool you down a bit. It's not an end all be all fix, but it does help cooler you off a bit, especially if you're out in the sun for a while
I've yet to find a video showing how this works. Instead every other video is should I f***ing buy it or how to use it. Why can't I find one single freaking video on how this little piece of sh1t can possibly work? I'm a skeptic which explains my impatient answer-seeking
It's a peltier cooler. The cooling plate that touches your skin is cold, heat on the other side is blown out the top by a fan. In practice, it feels like an ice cube down your back.
Interesting product, thanks for presentation. By the way, the watch strap visible (for your AW ultra) in this video seems pretty cool, could you share the model if it's possible ? Many thanks!
Hello.. If anyone wants to sell the device or return it to the company, you can send it to me and I will pay the price of the device as well as the shipping cost.
*PRICE UPDATE* Reon 5 - £139 and Reon Neckband - £25.
Ahhhh, price is up another £19. Oh well I'll wait for a sale I guess! I want to try one I am always excessively sweating for no reason ha.

But how EFFECTIVE is it???? Isn't that the whole point!
I only got a short time with it. I'll be getting one to test out properly soon.

This is a brilliant and innovative device. This is the weird creative SONY we all want
i had to check the date to see if it isn't from first of april.

Pretty poor review. No explanation of how good it is, just detailed the info on the side of the box
It will be so useful, here in Saudi Arabia the temperature reaches 45 - 50° c
I saw a video of him a year ago. A week ago, I was looking for it, but I was sad when I learned that it was not sold in my area😔
How does it actually cool? Anything designated ‘air con’ is usually noisy. Or is it just a fan?
Fan + heatsink? Blowing air through a heatsink does drop temps. Modern fans are getting more and more quiet and smaller.
been out in Japan for ages...and this is the 5th model they done...so it must be good...or they would of scraped it by now...interesting...looks ok
I think these could sell well at the airports once people actually see how good they are.
Yes, but the Japanese are not like you and I.
Dude, what was the name of that game with the character at the and of your comment in it? I was crazy about that game 👾 .

It's just peltier technology. It's not going to do massive cooling, it more tricks your body into feeling cooler.
Does this really work ? Does it cool you in summer times ?

That 3am embargo
Yeh, that was a killer. I didn't even realise until yesterday evening 😂 had to scramble to put this one together
How can I get in India, temperature feel like 51
You could import it from Japan or maybe from Europe
WTF was that loud noise at 3:49...
A sweaty gamer mashing the keyboard
Would this work in the middle East summer?
Yes! Definitely. I'm in Mexico at the moment, and it's been a game changer here. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes

Do you have to keep your phone in your pocket whilst using this?

this review was useless
Looks fake to me
Sony reon pocket 4 is really useless. Its like an ice on your neck which does nothing in a hot weather.
