Rescued Lab Chimps Hug and Smile as They Venture Outside for the First Time

- Former research chimpanzees hug and celebrate as they venture outside for the first time! One by one the chimps look outside of their home at Project Chimps, but who would be brave enough to venture out first? Once they got more acquainted with their new surroundings, it was time to play! Project Chimps is a 236-acre sanctuary for chimpanzees that have been used in biomedical research. InsideEdition.com's Keleigh Nealon ( / keleighnealon ) has more. #InsideEdition
Respect for the first chimp that went outside to make sure it was safe for everyone! That's bravery!
Indeed, more bravery than we can imagine. I can't imagine what the world must be like to a species enslaved by another race for most of their life without any comprehension of what was going on.
Chimpion!
Yea that dude was cool, you see him pat the other on the back as he strides by him like he's saying aye... told ya it'd be cool man..real cool!
Heartbreaking. So glad they've been rescued.
Leaving death row is wonderful.
They were hanging on to each other screaming in fear. Fortunately, their curiosity won out and it was a joyful experience.
Actually that’s not necessarily true. I’ve seen chimps literally Use the same body language when excited about a birthday cake and presents they were about to get. They were so excited that they were hugging and jumping up and down.
@@cindyl4325 Oh, okay. I feel better about it now. I hope they're excited and not terrified.
@@watsonspuzzle It was most probably a mixture of both.
@@tylerchambers6246 It probably was.
@watsonspuzzle Don't let the idiot fool you. That was terror in those chimps.
That's so sweet how he held out his hand. What a fantastic reserve! ❤
poor babies , I hope them all the best
Just to be clear these chimps aren't happy and celebrating. That wide "grin" is a fear grin they do when they're scared and when they hug its not to celebrate. Chimps do that usually when scared to reassure each other since they're scared. They do that hugging a lot when chimps have big fights and the chimps on the same side will hug each other during the fighting to let them know they're on the same side and once again to reassure since there's fear. So these chimps were scared because they had rough lives and thought something bad might happen. But the good news for them is something good is happening.
@@jenniferredinchgohe was looking for reassurance
@@texaswrestling9249 Exactly, the way people anthropomorphize chimps is so ignorant.
yea I thought the same thing. they were very frightened not happy. glad you set the record straight
That hand out to show the others it was ok and ‘join me’ was so absolutely precious!
Animals have feelings and minds just like your kids.😢
Yeah, thats why they bite people's faces off
@@Harry-bn5mpyes those that have been cruel and selfish to them,i hope.
@@Harry-bn5mpexactly
Oh. Wow. Thanks for clearing that up. We thought they were emotionless robots
@@Harry-bn5mp Well, humans have done more vicious things than just biting people's faces, so does it mean we should put you in a cage??
Adorable, precious, & irresistible, those great chimpanzees 😍😍
Nothing but Tears, and joy, happy for them
Love to see them smile. They're AWESOME
Til they kill you
honestly, their smiles look terrifying
@@AhtoNajeebRashied a lot of things can kill you, fool.
This touched my heart if only I had unlimited money I would promise I would free those animals from circus and zoos especially from those labs. Also for tbe people as well
Then don’t go to the hospital or use medicine.
If you had unlimited money, money would be worth nothing as a medium of exchange.
The responses to the original comment show some negative iq truly. And literally tons of medicine is not tested on animals.
@@mandarina4157Truly a low IQ since FDA wouldnt let medicines continue to human trials without first doing animal trials. Maybe you should try to read FDA guidelines about medicine approvals, that should expand your brain a little bit....
@@octovina911 Most people either can't afford to or get denied by their insurance anyway.
So adorable 😍
I hope they live many years in peace.
Man still has to destroy everything he touches.
1:06 is one of the most humanlike "AWESOME!" expressions I have ever seen in an animal.
Yeah that’s a smile for sure. No mistaking it.
Em..you both know that most animals, including chimps, smile and bare teeth as a sign if aggression not happiness right?
No Animal deserves to live in a cage and be used for testing EVER ! They have feelings and emotions much like we do.
So glad they get a chance to live and feel safe. ❤
Every Life Matters !!!
No animal should have to be trapped in a lab and tested on 😭😭😭
So stop posting crying emojis and go save ALL wildlife in captivity if it bothers you that much. Talk is cheap. Action speaks louder than words
This makes me so happy for them!
We have to stop using these poor animals to experiment on.🤯🤬😢😢🐒
agree!
Definitely... 😢😥
That's so cruel, I wish they would lock up the keepers and not them see daylight. Unbelievable cruelty 😢
You're also cruel to wish that upon anyone. If that's your idea of Justice I give you permission to be ashamed of yourself
Yeah the scientists and all who experiment with animals will get their Karma... No one can do harm- without it returning to them... 🙏🙏
@@C-Hereyo chill if it wasn’t for scientist you wouldn’t know nothing about chimps but I’m not saying what they do is right
@@30shots317
"Without scientists we wouldn't know nothing about chimps"??? Do you see any native people experimenting on animals? To see how they work? One can live in harmony with animals- without the need to do scientific things to them!! You must be a city person who's never had the love of an animal...
Yes, let's lock up scientists performing vital research that sustains society because you see a video online and fall for it.
Notice the way the "forever incarcerated" chimp climbed effortlessly? Yeah, it hasn't been in a cage its whole life. Its muscles would have never developed that ability.
It's clickbait.
Look at those big "smiles"
So sweet
So so sweet!! You know they must have depended on each other so much for comfort in the lab so they wholly trust each other. ❤ So thankful for the people that got them to a safe place.
NO MORE USING ANIMALS FOR TESTS!😢😢
Yeah. Your crying emojis will change everything.
Just say no more cancer too and see how that works out.
This is the way these poor animals should be living.....free❤❤❤
Thank you whomever freed them
Happy for them. There's a lot of human-like reactions in them, and they deserve a Life.
Freedom to explore- I’m so glad they could get out there.♥️
So precious to see them encouraging each other.
Absolutely beautiful to watch 💕
Pray they have a wonderful life.
Sooo cute~ 💖!
Took guts to come out first! After so many years of abuse and torment. Welcome to your new home!
😭 SO wonderful!
How as humans can we treat another life like this .
Thank you for the people who helped these beautiful chimps.
Long life to you my beautiful chimps❤
Sorry this was done to you .
Wow this makes me so happy to see them free❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🤗finally they can climb how sad it was to watch but yet there was happiness for them ,that is the most beautiful part 💝💝💝💝
The fact that their muscles allow them to climb in the first place suggests they've been climbing their whole lives. IE -- not even in a cage.
ABSOLUTELY brilliant god bless you and of course these beautiful chimps ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You can tell they spent years with humans by their reactions.
You can tell they clearly didn't, judging by the fact that their musculature is FULLY developed for climbing, implying that they have at least several years of same under their belts. It's likely clickbait
Them hugging 🤗
so happy
It’s so cruel what we do to our beautiful animals.
Mother nature is watching humans! Don't treat beings so wrong. May the enjoy their limited freeddm!
I follow these chimps and all others who have been rescued from the deadly, torturous clutches of a cruel life into the loving, peaceful hands of a heavenly one. I understand that some people think the best thing would be to release them back into the wild where there isn't a fence around them, but that would almost be positively a death sentence. Because they have have more than likely been either born in a lab or lived there since they were babies. Because of that they lack everything they need socially and physically to survive in the wild.
100% agree. It would be so good to see animals released fully into the wild but it’s not practical because as you said, they wouldn’t have adequate survival skills. This is the best option.
@@ella9063 I agree as well. Here they get good food. Toys to play with, they get to choose what they want to do. These chimps have blossomed in places like this. After what they have been through it is the least humans can do for them.
Beautiful ♡
Great story. At last something positive
This makes me so happy & sad all at the same time.
Aww they're so happy 💗😊
This is lesson for us to see that animals have emotional intelligence and expirrence feelings just as we do. Poor things
That smiling in chimps is a fear uncertainty reaction
@tomricketts7821 Exactly. ✔ It's called a 'grimace.' _Some_ people think it's a smile to show happiness because that's what _we humans_ do, but you're right. 💯
What a wonderful sight!
Heartbreaking, but finally a kind of free
Look at those smiles!
God Bless them ❤️
Made me cry. All have wonderful lives now
That is adorable
God bless them.
This is no Different than what the US had done to many Glad to see them back in there play grounds

God Bless All Animals and Creatures!!! 🐕🙏❤
*That's AWESOME* 🐒🐒🐒🐒
Glad someone helped them
Why?
How beautiful.❤
What a wonderful video.
Danke 😘😘
Heartwarming !!!🥰
Heart. Breaking to see how scared a couple of the chimps were. They didn't understand at first why they were opening the gate for them.
Smiling is a fear reaction in chimps, folks. This is a great sanctuary though. Been following them for years!
It is feeling apprehension and excitement at the same time. I have felt that when letting go. Apprehensive and excited at the same time.
Thankyou awee 💋♡
They weren’t scared of simply going outside. They were afraid of getting punished by their former handlers for trying to escape.
Aww, they're so cute, although they'd rip me to shreds if I were outside there with them!
God bless these beautiful creatures. How dare we experiment on them.😢
be free & happy chimps
💖❤️🔥 for the rescues 👍👏🏼🙏 .
Yeah so happy for them the last chimp with the ear to ear smile😊

Awww!!!! 😭

The initial "smiles" arent smiles. They're fear
Aww they look so dang happy !

Im so sick of all this poor animal abuse, life will sort you out
Every animal have the right to live a free and happy life just as much as humans demands it.
