What a sweet momma and her baby! She is so well tempered she got her nails done and fed her baby! She's a busy momma for sure. 😄😄 Thanks for sharing another great trim! I enjoy your videos because they help me chill out after a busy day, weird I know but they do. Have a blessed day!
That mare is a good judge of character, showed no apprehension about you being that close to her foal. Well done as always Sheldon,I hope your enjoying some nice weather with the family!
It's called being curious and that's how learning happens. That goes for both horses and people (children). I'm surprised that the mom isn't more nervous about what's happening to her with her baby right there.
@@84953 some mares don’t fret a lot. My mares dam was always like “take her away.” But if you met my horse and knew her as a baby you’d understand why her mom wanted a break.
Nicely done and really like the attention to detail as you balance the hooves. Plus that is a rock solid mom of a horse to get trimmed and let her baby get a snack.
Aww, I think the mare was teaching her baby by example - “be calm, don’t wiggle, and see it doesn’t hurt to get your feet trimmed.” Interesting that the 4 footed spectator wanted some milk instead of a yummy piece of hoof trimmings to chew.
You have so many" interesting" shoeings that you do to help save feet and solve problems and everything else that it's kind of a relief to see you do just a normal trimming, as I bet it was for you. Great video!
When he said: "Hard to see but the baby is sneaking a drink" Why was I expecting to see a baby horse face to come out of the mother for a drink? Like please, I know I'm stupid but I wasn't expecting me to be THAT stupid. Like I know how horses work- (kind of) Btw: I thought this because I read the title wrong and that that the horse was only pregnant, with no baby already
Omg I'm so glad i wasn't the only person who thought this, i was slightly freaking out on how the baby was drinking from the inside only to realize it's a baby on the outside
Sheldon has a large RUclips following, some of whom aren’t horse people. I appreciate his comment because it helps people who know very little about horses to notice what’s happening.
Hi, Im from Russia. Dont know how did I get there but this channel is interesting and informative. And also note the clear English speech( In other videos xD) - it helps to learn it
Was just watching the video, looking for the curious, shy baby. But was distracted for awhile by the ad that was telling me that farts burn fat. Then my kiddo heard it and piped up with, 'yeah mom, that's why I'm in such great shape!' 😂 good grief RUclips
You know, I am a Russian woman of 39 and I can do my manicure myself. But looking at your work , I really want to be a horse and I wish somebody carefully holds my leg or arm and tries to make my hooves beautiful...

Yes, I used have a shoer that always trimmed my gelding way too short and every time he was sore for a week after his trim. Needless to say I fired that guy.
I appreciate how you let us know what you are seeing, like the flared hoof and the dark mark where perhaps an old abscess blew out. Very informative. Loved seeing the foal.
The cameraman stealing glimpses of the baby horse throughout the entire video was the sweetest thing!! In the middle of the process he’d just pan the camera to the baby’s face for a second or two before returning back to what was going on. Awww
It's very satisfying to see her feet all properly trimmed up neat and tidy. When I look at any horse, one of the first things I do is look at their hooves. If they haven't had any attention in a long time, my next thought is, "Oops! Time to call the farrier." Props and kudos to all farriers. They are wonder workers. 😃
What do you do when you have a horse that keeps pulling its leg or putting it down? Also thank you for putting in the extra working on videos when you explain the disease, infection, etc. when you didn’t have to!! I love learning about those kinds of things!!💖
Exactly what I needed to reinvigorate me in the middle of a rough day! Seeing the baby's curiosity made me wonder, how young are horses on average when they get their first trim/shoeing? Do they get their feet handled younger so they're already a little desensitized to the process?

Good job taking care of the mama mare with her foal in tow. The little one seemed very curious about your work, wondering what you were doing to Mommy's hooves. I hope it didn't get in the way. 🐴🙂
I think mum will have been glad to get her post-natal pedicure and she was so calm despite you being near her foal ❤️However...... where is the buttery-biscuit-base-smooth Sheldon voiceover? I sure missed that in today’s video! :( Keep up the great shoeing work 👍
I know it's not, but I can't help but to think how painful that looks for the horse. All that scraping and digging and peeling and tugging. They never flinch a bit though. Some real troopers
I always like watching you. You do such a efficient job. And you do it quite fast. I hope that horse felt as good as I do when I go get my nails done! Lol

I watch them to wind down before bed.. Kind of like soap cutting but for hooves its sort of satisfying relaxing.

You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for taking us along Sheldon. Hope school is going well.
Just lovely with the inquisitive foal. Thanks from the UK on a cold, wet and windy day.

The cute little face sneaking in to see what’s going with mom’s hoof. One of the bonus of this kind of job.
I brain keeps trying to tell me that the tail is the farrier’s long hair that needs pinned up before this sort of work. Lol.
Mine too. Especially, as that tail matches my hair pretty closely...
It makes me happy to see a normal hoof appear as you work on them. You do a great job, and I enjoy watching you

You know that weird feeling you get when you trim your nails or hair short for the first time in a while? Do horses get that feeling with their feet?

from what I know it's recommended to not ride the horse the day they get trimmed, so they can get used to the feeling. So they probably feel it!
