Small fact, Elon Musk is from South Africa yet we cannot buy a Tesla here...
I had to edit this... I know all the reasons why we don't have Tesla's in South Africa. This was merely just a statement saying that we cannot buy them here.- (Read the goddamn first 2 words) It is a factual statement not a question on why we cannot buy them)
He hates us jk well maybe🤷🏾♂️

I've lived in South Africa my whole life but I just found out that South Africa has two islands far from the actual country.
I was 41 when I learnt this. Definitely not something they thought to mention in geography class LOL
Even me
Wasn't there more than 2? Robben Island, Marion Island and another one as well? ;)
Joshua September bro what really??? that wild
I've also lived in South Africa all my life, and knew about those two islands for a long time.

Not gonna lie you need to fact check some of your facts, I'm from South Africa and some of these weren't true like the flags colour not having a meaning
And the "whites own 72% of farm land".. Whites own 70% of 30%.. The rest is owned by the black government..
@@scruffasax Not quite true.
You have to break it down to farm land, sectional titles (part ownership in estates), urban land and the rest.
Whites own the largest portion in each category, but the gap is muuch smaller with urban land and estates.
The 70% statistic only applies to farm lands.
@@QuentinWatt I like your youtube channel, you should upload more.. With That out of the way... As I know it, the government owns the majority of the farmland, I got the 70-30 stat from an interview Ernst roets did.. Yes that does mean that whites own the majority of privately owned farmlands, but only 30% of the farmland is private..
@@scruffasax If you believe Ernst Roets, you probably believe in the easter bunny too. Quentin Watt Tutorials is closer to the truth.
Actually it's true, The South African Flag doesn't have any official meaning to it, all of these other meanings are just theories that people came up with.

I'm also South African. I'm a teen and I would like to know how LeSotho stayed independent all through the 19th and 20th centuries? Did the British and Boers just ignore the country? Were they scared to even attempt colonizing it because the Sotho nation was that strong?

@lwandile dube I'm from god damn South Africa bruh I'm looking out for the homies The country's crime is clearly not at a good level nor is it's economy in perfect shape very much needs work
@lwandile dube not everyone is as "lucky" as you. There are 60 REPORTED murders per day , 114 REPORTED rape incidents per day , 444 REPORTED assaults per day , 142 REPORTED common robberies per day , 605 house robberies per day , not to mention the thousands of petty crimes we face DAILY. And all of this based on reports , MOST people dont reported shit in south africa , why ? Because nothing fucking happens. The crime in South Africa is one of THE highest in the world. Nothing wrong with the country itself , just the people managing it. Eskom is a load of shit , we have loadshedding most of the year , our water is only clean in some places , the roads are terrible , and yet you defend this country like its top class ? Nothing works here , because if it where we would be a 1st world country , and sadly we are far from that. And if you find it difficult to believe my statistics , do yourself a favor and research. We are THIRD on the list for worst crime and crime rates in the WORLD. Open your eyes , its not always sunshine and rainbows.

As a South African, I was sorta hoping for a mention of the massive level of corruption and all that
There is a lot more bad that needs to said but yeah, corruption is a big issue.
But is that historic. He is looking at pinnacle talking points. Is being corrupt a point of conjecture ?
It is like saying man sins. This is childish to cry about corruption. Man sins everywhere everyday...that is corruption. Do something by voting the bad apples out!
The G in “Groot” is pronounced with phlegm. It’s an Afrikaans word that means “big”
So translated literally, it’s just “big river” in Afrikaans 😂
It’s also a Dutch word that means ‘big’. Although it’s pronounced ‘groat’ but with the same phlegmy ‘g’.

Just going to add, coloured isn't a racist term here in South Africa, its just a word we use here for people who are between white and black, Trevor Noah isn't Black here for example but he is coloured. The people wear the term with pride.
The historical relationships and interactions between the foraging, herding and farming societies is more complicated than Bantu-speaking groups displacing Khoekhoe and Bushman groups. Things like the clicks in Xhosa and Zulu and the traditional cattle-based economic cultures, for example, derive from the mixing and absorption of pastoralist Khoekhoe into agriculturalist Bantu-speaking communities.
Also, during colonisation, the Dutch brought in thousands of Africans and Asians as slaves. South Africans classified/identifying as Coloured are the descendants of those slaves as well as the remaining Khoekhoe and Bushman people who were living within the Cape Colony. They also make up the majority of Afrikaans-speakers and Afrikaans owes much of its development to the Dutch of the slaves and Khoekhoe.
You forget one of the best facts ,the Coelacanth (Selekant) was found in alive(was classified as extinct for 65mil years) on the coast of South-Africa
