      Certainly, if in fact we actually were literally flying an aircraft on another planet. Sadly NASA is filming flying a drone on a volcano summit through a red lens and stating it is Mars so they can continue to steal billions from taxpayers.

    Looks like Mars has more of an atmosphere than we initially thought.

      Mars is around the same atmosphere as earth 100,000 feet up

      If you check the original data before orange lensing became a standard for NASA to overlay on pictures it always showed blue sky and clouds
      Unaltered Hubble and fly by pictures also show plenty of atmosphere
      There's even pictures showing what looks to be trees and bushes from orbit in some places

      The martian dust super storms suggest more of an active system than we are lead to believe.

    This is so surprising a fact how a man-made intelligent helicopter keeps flying on the surface of the Mars with the instructions from the Earth.

      Actualy, the most problem is the long distance away to be in Mars. Other technical problems are scientifically 'no problem' to those scientist engineers in Nasa.

      Most of the information is already on board the rovers and helicopter mainly bc they cant control anything in mars in real time bc of the delay basically wat im saying is that its programmed to do that stuff

    It occurs to me that on occasions where Perseverance may collect dust the down-draft of the small copter may remove occulting dust from the solar array.

    I wonder if they could use the rotors to keep dust off the solar panels during dust devils. That would be amazing. You could literally have a long term craft available with no interference for recharging purposes

    Here on earth 150 mph winds throw cars around like toys,but on Mars 400 mph winds don't even move the rover ,which weight's less than a car! You can decide if the rover is on Mars or not

      You need to take more physics courses. The force of the wind depends on the density of the atmosphere. When the wind blows on Mars, less stuff is hitting you and imparting an impulse (dig?) If the atmosphere is only 1% as thick as on Earth, what do you think that means for the force of the winds on Mars? And by the way, the maximum wind speeds on Mars are about 60 mph, not 400mph.

      I f sealed bearings are used than it should not be a problem.

      Military helicopters are designed for the conditions based on particles, particle count, as well as moisture.

    We are lucky that we are able to see such wonderful videos of other planet sitting in a corner of the earth, thanks to human intelligence. I wish I had lived long enough to see many more such marvellous scenes.

    I'm just wondering it takes so many millions of km travelling from Earth to Mars. So those taken photos from Mars and it takes how long reach back to Earth and how about other technical issues. Please enlighten us.

    I thought the whole point of putting a drone on Mars was so it could spot points of interest for perseverance to explore and identify obstacles for it to avoid.

    One assisting the other. A collection of assistances will be so awe inspiring. Great minds do achieve success. Absolutely simple but so highly important. My eyes are actually seeing the ground and of another world. Wonderful days and years are a blessing. I will never be able to go physically but feel as though I'm sharing a conscious presence with the mechanical engineering functioning it's objectives. Encapsulating! Monumental baby steps are maturing gradually.

    Ingenuity type landing can also be planned for landing the rover or combination of present technology and ingenuity landing technology.

    But the really amusing thing is how can that drone fly?
    The Martian atmospheric pressure of 0.095 psi would not be enough for the props to "propel" any gas let alone create lift.
    Earth's atmospheric pressure @ sea level is 14.7 psi.

      That was the question the Ingenuity team set out to answer 6 years ago, and after a lot of work developing prototypes, and tests in chambers simulating the martian atmosphere, the answer is a resounding yes!
