    Nice one, Marieta! Looking forward to the DCTL video. Would also love to see a video with stock tools only as nowadays it often feels like you need to but plugin after plugin to get decent looks

    So great! But How possible is it that we can achieve this if just using built in tools ?

    • @marietafarfarova
      @marietafarfarova  23 дня назад +3

      Thank you! Of course, you can replace most of the tools used:
      - Filmic Tone Curve = Custom Curves
      - QT Charts - There are some test charts available within Resolve under Generators, on Mononodes: mononodes.com/test-charts/ , The NOIR Generator: svenhegen.com/dctl-generator/
      - RGBCMY Crosstalk = RGB Mixer
      - QT Color Compressor - This one is more time consuming and difficult to recreate but a mix of Lift, Gamma, Gain, Log, Custom Curves can absolutely get you a similar result.
      - Iris Pro Hue = Hue vs Hue curves
      - Tetra+ = I'd use Color Warper in HSV or Color Slice if I had to replicate the effect of this DCTL

    That defocus technique is sick! Snagging that for sure. I’m curious is there a reason you applied Denoise & sharpening before your IDT? Was it just for speed to apply across the whole group or do you get better denoising results if you apply in the cameras original color space?

    • @marietafarfarova
      @marietafarfarova  23 дня назад +1

      I'm so glad you found that technique useful, I love it too! That's a great question. The reason why I apply a small amount of noise reduction in the Group Pre-Clip is to apply it throughout the entire group. And if there are any clips with a significant amount of noise that need more work - I have another NR node in the Clip level so I would address those individually either with Resolve's NR or NeatVideo. In terms of why I place NR and Sharpen before the IDT - to be honest, that's the how I've been taught to do it but I don't think it matters. Both are texture adjustments so, technically, it shouldn't matter whether they go before or after the IDT.

      Do you mean how to zoom in/out into specific regions of your viewer? If so, you just simply move your cursor over the viewer and use your mouse scroller to do so.

      Thanks for your comment. As stated in the video, I'm in the process of testing Iridescent Color's DCTLs for a review video hence the excessive use of external tools. All the steps can be replicated using built-in Resolve tools and I'm in no way implying this is the only way to grade. Choose your tools as you see fit and feel free to take my process with as much pinch of salt as you'd like.
