I actually think the voice she has now is probably closer to her real voice, but it’s also connected to the fact that she is literally Glinda in Wicked. It plays well into the character that she would speak with a high pitched voice. Overall I think all celebs do this a bit whether it be a minor change in their voice or a whole style. Like, I really think that Jojo Siwa is acting in a way to separate herself from her old character with her new self which is causing people to talk all about her.
personally my voice changes on who I'm around usually being higher pitched when talking to strangers and deeper when talking to people I'm more relaxed with
She's just a singer.. Their voices will change based on what songs they are practicing. This used to happen to me when i was a child in church choir and i also noticed it in the army when i started volunteering to sing cadences during running if i did it consistently
Its probably because of the voice she uses im wicked. Which makes her change her voice, making it harder to sound "normal" again because of the getting used to. Or its just a voice she uses to save up her voice power for upcoming performances. Its a common technique i believe.
people seem to forget celebrities lives are giant preformances, its not unusual for a celebrity to subconciously adjut how they speak to match the event they are at and/or the image they are currently giving to the media rn
Actors will talk a certain way for a role. Arianna in wicked is using a higher voice and constantly switching your voice from normal and resting to how you need to preform can be hard. This just helps actors adjust their voices for role and is totally Norma.
I hate when people say speaking in that certain accent is cultural appropriation. For that particular accent, sure it originated from black culture, but nowadays? All the basic girlies on tiktok speak like that because it's just what they're exposed to. It originated from black women, which then spread into POC queer culture, then into the main stream because of RuPaul's drag race. Which is an extremely popular show. Not to mention the already prominent presence of popular black women artists in pop culture and black movies and television. At certain we have to stop claiming it's cultural appropriation, when we're exposed to it I'm daily life, the Internet and media. It's just a subset of American culture that any skin color should be able to use. It's actually messed up to tell someone they can't speak like that because they don't look like someone that should.
I think it because back then in like 2016 and around that time. Hip hop and rap where going through like a renaissance era, and it was cooler than ever to associate yourself to be as such. “Black”
She had also stated in a RECENT interview that she had to ditch pop star Ari to focus on Glinda which meant, doing certain mannerisms, talking like her, moving like her for months while filming. It happens to a lot of actors/actresses. But most importantly, she can do whatever she wants because she’s grown.
It’s a polite voice, whenever I meet new people or I bump into someone I always speak with a softer voice meanwhile my friends don’t get that treatment
It’s just bc of the trends at the time … Urban/Pop/Hip Hop (?) was popular up until the pandemic and then it became the Clean girl/Old money trend …. Everyone changes with trends hers is just a bit stronger - especially playing Glinda
Well she’s worked really hard for the role of Glenda, I think she’s starting to sound like Glenda in real life, she’s one of those people that starts sounding like the character they play.
I remember when you would just dance with every person in the club dancing at the same time and a guy would come up behind you and start trying to dance or grind. Lol It was always so funny seeing the girl finally turn around and give the judgment lmao! Hilarious. Those were great times. Just pure fun and no awkwardness because everyone sucked at dancing and still danced and got drunk. Its so transactional now. A guy doesn't try to buy you a drink for anything but to get laid and like, you cant even accept one unless you want to possibly go home with him. It's messed up. Girls took advantage of guys and guys are too transactional now. Yall ruined it! 😢❤

That’s how people talk these days. It’s mostly common amongst people who converse over social media.
It’s a theatre thing, sometimes we forget our own voices and it just changes
personally my voice changes on who I'm around usually being higher pitched when talking to strangers and deeper when talking to people I'm more relaxed with
she went from Gangsta in da hood to Cat the redhead
Changing your voice for a hair color is wild💀
I also have two different voices, if I talk while being excited or to teachers or stuff I talk higher than when I relax my voice
Because she played cat for so long, she kinda adapted that voice
If yall want an answer that bad, just go watch wicked once it releases.
Everything dude, everything.
Bro is a voice impressionist
It’s a polite voice, whenever I meet new people or I bump into someone I always speak with a softer voice meanwhile my friends don’t get that treatment
It’s just bc of the trends at the time … Urban/Pop/Hip Hop (?) was popular up until the pandemic and then it became the Clean girl/Old money trend …. Everyone changes with trends hers is just a bit stronger - especially playing Glinda
Well she’s worked really hard for the role of Glenda, I think she’s starting to sound like Glenda in real life, she’s one of those people that starts sounding like the character they play.
Sounds like me when I’m asking the teacher to use the restroom
Omg our favorite Nigerian, Japanese, White, and Mexican queen 😍
She's back on the helium
The first one sounded like some other singers voice but I forgot their name
Reminds me of when my friends got shocked bc i was talking in deep voice with british accent. Its normal to switch accents unconsciously
