    A kids movie! You know, one with
    -brutal decapitation and dismemberment
    -betrayal
    -murder of women and children (lots of children)
    -boring political dialogue
    -horrible immolation and mutilation
    -electric torture
    -romantic scenes
    -choking of pregnant women
    You know, for kids!

      Even as a kid, in most sci-fi TV shows/games/movies, I wanted to see more of what _normal_ everyday life was like when there _wasn't_ this big threat, or there wasn't this grand adventure, or this unusual mystery, etc.

      Yeah, after all the clone troopers turned on the jedi, who were not only their commanders but more often than not their close friends. The jedi were the only ones who ever thought of the clones as people, and then the clones butchered them all. It was even more tragic to the clones, since they were programmed to enact the order. Once they realised what they had done, most of the clones suffered from tremendous guilt. There were even some clones who killed themselves or their fellow clones because of what they had done. Then to top it off, the empire kicked all the clones out of the military, leaving them completely devoid of any purpose in life.

    • @Krosstic
      @Krosstic 6 лет назад +9

      SerWarden the My didn’t kick them out...They stopped producing clones and eventually they all died off. From what I know, the only clone to survive the galactic empire was Kix. He survived because he got frozen in carbonite and was freed by pirates.

    • @HATExRecon
      @HATExRecon 6 лет назад +1

      According to star wars rebels, which is cannon, the clones who removed their chips lived well into the Empire time. This included Rex, Wolf, and Gregor. The clones were demoted and eventually relieved of duty because there was another order they were programmed with that would make them kill the Emperor. So, he abandoned them in favor of trained stormtroopers.

    • @fabianugalde3789
      @fabianugalde3789 3 года назад +1

      In the new season of Star Wars The Clone Wars you can see how Rex removed his chip with the help of Ahsoka, and they escaped. Sadly everyone else died.

      kids programming is violent deal with it. just think of the generation Disney is messing up with there star wars. lets start with rouge one, an entire city gets vaporized girl sees her dad blown up on a landing platform, mom shot by scary black troopers. bunch of dudes get the firing squad for something someone else did. some pretty gritty street combat on jedda. oh and some dude getting shot in the back in a back ally by some one who was supposed to rescue him, darthvader absolutely demolishing a hall way of rebels.
      the force awakens has a whole village rounded up and shot in like the first 5 min. dude kills his own dad (good message for kids) 5 planets get blown up.
      lets face it shows for kids are violent.

      "Murders 8 year old kids without hesitation"
      You mean the shot of Anakin's face and the sound of a lightsaber extending, then a cut to a different scene.
      Its implied that it happened, but if Star Wars was for adults they would have shown more than just a fucking shot of anakins face and then cutting to a different scene.

    I think the reason it was cut was that it's just too brutal. The clones are given an order to kill the Jedi but it goes too far in some places, most notably when Bariss is crushed by the AT-TE. It's just overkill and sort of ruins the tone that Lucas wanted.

      ARC Trooper Fives oh don’t get me wrong I’m thankful that he created the franchise and good for him that it’s made him extremely wealthy but most of the things that ppl love about Star Wars were done by other ppl for example the reason why A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back were so good was because he didn’t have full control over them other writers and directors did and while I love Return of the Jedi you can tell something is different about it from the previous films that’s cause he had more control in it and all the comics and stories that are extremely popular in Legends were done by actual writers not Lucas so to reiterate grateful for Lucas but his ideas are extremely questionable and downright stupid when he’s in charge case in example the prequels

      Lol, the people who were on his team helped make an amazing franchise. They steered him away from a lot of stupid ideas that he had for the original trilogy, and the reasons the prequels sucked was due to his ability to have everything in it that he wanted.

    I feel it's a bit too spectacular, all this. The way it was portrayed in the movies it was a purge, the jedi had to die. This Alternative Order 66 feels too indulgent and almost comedic. The cold efficiency of the purge is what was so emotional for me in the movies, how these Clones whom the Jedi had led for years and whom the Clones had a great respect for (most of them at least) just turned on a dime and executed them before they had any notion of what was happening

      juicy papito Well in the movies they are brainwashed to think the Republic has to always come first no matter who they served. Think of it like the Greek Spartans of the City State of Sparta they are taken from their mothers at the age of 5-7 and taught to serve and die for Sparta. There's not a difference here, the clones are born for war and are trained to stay loyal to the Republic and only the Republic. In the movie they had no emotions, they never did. In the Clone Wars T.V show they do but not here. I'm not surprised a bunch of brainwashed clones took out their Generals without any second thoughts.

    I just LOVE how the gigantic laser-minigun on the tank just goes apeshit on the other tank right in front of it the instant they spot the Jedi.
    It's like two mates walk up to each other, and one of them has a spider on the chin. They both know it's there, and it's like they can't decide whether or not they should say "hi" first, or do something about the spider, and then the other guy just suddenly beats his mate to death with a lead pipe trying to get the spider.
    It's like the gunner went through training hoping to end up in the artillery crops, and he was making the absolute most out of it.

And yes he tries to defend himself but at that point it's like his heart isn't even that into it, he's still in shock.

    So is all the hatred directed at the prequels because people who were kids during the original trilogy expected it to continue to cater to their age, such as with a darker version like this?

    • @DJGTheAwesome
      @DJGTheAwesome  7 лет назад +16

    • @FirstEcho
      @FirstEcho 7 лет назад +4

      One of the first scenes in the original trilogy is Luke's aunt and uncle burnt to a crisp. "Star Wars is for kids ecks dee". Star Wars shouldn't have been directed toward adults or children, that's one of the things that made the originals great. It was easy enough for the whole family to enjoy them. But then the prequels came along, with shit like midichlorians and Jar Jar Binks. It didn't have to cater to adults, but in its attempt to cater to children, it became unappealing to old fans and new fans. Also, the dialogue in all three of the prequels was cringey as shit. Try and deny it.

    So is that why Revenge of the Sith was PG-13? Was that why there were children being murdered by clones? Not just Anakin killing those younglings off screen. I mean straight up dead. On screen.
    I know Star Wars is marketed to kids the most, but saying George Lucas toned down Order 66 because Star Wars was for kids is wrong. Order 66 was still plenty brutal. Anaking burning alive was brutal! This was a movie! Not a toy!

    I actually prefer the scene we got of the Jedi executions in the final film to the way the Jedi that are shown executed in the final film being killed in this original cut. The battles of Utapau, Mygeeto, Felucia, Cato-Neimoidia, Saleucami and Kashyyyk looked cooler and had better pacing. But I still wish it could have lasted a little longer though with a few more executions. But I think the executions of Barris, Luminara and Quinlan Vos were replaced by the scenes with Obi-Wan, Yoda, the younglings and Zett Jukassa so maybe it would have still been the same length.

    Is it me, or is it that after order 66, the clones care less about each other?

    • @cptTK421
      @cptTK421 6 лет назад

      Here's my dual explanation:
      Pre-Filoni Clone Wars show: The clones were trained to obey orders without fault much like droids do, but were ultimately still human, and still possessed emotions; so gunning down a bunch of folks that you fought by, even if you thought of them as traitors, must weigh heavy on the mind. You know how a lot of people grow cold and distant after a traumatic experience? Basically that.
      Post-Filoni Clone Wars show: The clones had chips, basically switches to be flipped by receiving the verbal command "Execute Order 66." It is quite possible the chip went further, and instilled a mindless-drone quality in the clones that still had the chip at the time. The Emperor wanted an obedient legion, and could very well have had such an aspect added to the chip's function to help secure it (especially because the clones still had emotions and independent thoughts, if unchipped like Rex, loyalty may have been an issue).

    I say that major stuff of star wars franchise is for kids(battles,lightsaber battles,armys)....
    But it have dark scenes more for teens(13-25)specially the prequels...they have a sad,dark and more inmerse history telling and plots.
    My god...those kids or ...padme's death or count dooku....or even some clones....
    Fuck....
    It makes me sad...
    And TCW shows you how dark war could be,and clone deaths are saaadd(they seems to be more open and happy than regular humans)
    That's why i love prequels.
    And i like the OT a little bit to.
    But Ep7 is just not ok...i mean...i mean,they have awesome stuff,plots,characters, and new era!
    Just to make it like OT...that's bullshit.
    We don't live anymore in the 80's!we want something new for everyone,not the same thing over and over!.
    I still have hopes for Ep8.
    I hope so hard that will not be like ep5 pls!!

      Ikanite Thank you. I was going to comment that.
      For anyone interested:
      This isn't a rough cut or unfinished scenes. Around this time, filmmakers began using 3d animatics to storyboard their movies, and get an impression of what the scene will truly look like when they go to film it.
      The actual order 66 scenes contain sets, miniatures, actors, and some locations, and all that stuff needs to be built and actors brought in before they can film it.
      They create these back at Lucasfilm/Skywalker Sound(or wherever its done) so that they can more efficiently use their time when they go to the studio in England(or Australia) and actually film.

    Na, they were stupid ideas, order 66 was 'the Jedi have betrayed us- kill them' and the chips in their head made them carry out that command with cold blood. I don't think the chips that have been programmed by a computer(a prime example of cold efficiency) would force a clone to over kill them but to just shoot them.
