Spoilers If you have not completed "What are they hiding?" in C:DDA (not a dealbreaker on watching, but you can only experience it once if you plan on playing) The USA is not in great shape. Every week more riots and psychos are making headlines, but normal people try and continue on with their daily lives. Its harder and harder to do so with stores routinely being sacked by looters. But here is where we meet our "protagonist" Eddy "Micro" 25M 6' 7" a gangly nerd. Eddie was always a smart guy. Maybe a bit too smart at times, smart enough he thought he could never get caught. A hacker, and a bit of a tinkerer, straight out of highschool he realized he could be making way more money exploiting systems than coding. It started small, but eventually he made a name for himself on the darker side of the internet. When the riots first started he went from small jobs for fun (and profit) to needing to do it to survive. And with that brought dark connections, coerced by the prospect of money, Eddie was contacted and "hired" by a gang looking to make it big intercepting valuable cargo shipments. He got right to work, and with so many shipping companies out there, he had plenty to choose from. Most of the companies he checked had laughable cyber security. He noted a few of the more valuable trucks, one with a large quantity of graphics cards, and another with a few crates of unreleased phones, even some trucks of food were considered. All he had to do was track down the route and pick a good place for his new "friends" to make away with the goods. Since he was promised a percentage of the profits, he decided to keep looking, when one specific company caught his eye. Transcoast Logistics. It was strange, they had significantly better cybersecurity than any of the other companies he had checked so far. Nothing out of his skill level though, and eventually he was in. At first it was extremely confusing, why all this security when the shipping logs had nothing but chemistry supplies. Thats where it started getting weird, digging deeper he saw large quantities of "animal samples" were in shipments as well. Then he started looking at where all this stuff was going, a... subway station? The side of the road seemingly in the middle of nowhere? He even checked the satellite images of the area, and all he could find was a gated sewer vent. But what really tipped him off was multiple deliveries to a TOWNHOUSE in the middle of the city? Why are there millions of dollars of chemicals and chemistry supplies going to places like this? He asked himself. He was so curious at this point he stopped caring about the job, he wanted to know what was going on. At this point the security started to worry him, and it honestly might have stopped him too. He was able to get some basic read access to one of the servers, which normally would not have done much, but something caught his eye. a text file somewhere it shouldn't have been, pw.txt. Had it been anything else he wouldn't have been able to keep investigating, but someone clearly broke the rules and stored a password in text. He was smart enough to know accessing password protected files especially remotely, would not go unnoticed if it really was as sus as he thought. He did his best to hide himself, and sent the access command. Whoevers account this was was going to be in a LOT of trouble, they clearly had no regard for data security. Skimming through the documents looking to work as quickly as possible, Eddie saw technical reports of experiments with strange names, closeups of dissections, some that looked close to human even, some animal as well. and then he saw it. A scanned PDF, something CLEARLY intended not to be so. The big red CLASSIFIED was visible from the thumbnail. He downloaded it instantly, wanting to get to the bottom of this, chemicalreferenceSCAN.PDF He was greeted by a page completely covered in security warnings, things like "DO NOT REPRODUCE" "DO NOT DISTRIBUTE" And the ominous sentence "Unauthorized reading of this document guarantees PERMANENT employment FOR LIFE" There was no going back at this point, and besides, he already downloaded it, and he took his precautions. He should be fine. And he opened it. There were hundreds of pages of advanced chemical recipes, detailed instructions on illicit substances like heroin and cocaine even. Was this some sort of drug trafficking ring? That would explain the chemical shipments. But what about the biological samples??? And then he got to the briefings, one titled "XE037" and the other titled "PE012". Is this some new sort of drug he thought to himself? It seemed too much like scientific research, and he didn't fully understand the implications. at the end there was a handwritten note, that was included in the scan. "We were able to isolate what we believe to be re-adapted XE037 from subject T3D's cadaver. We can pick it up on spectroscopy, but it has comparable physical properties to the samples of XE037 we obtained "abroad". Samples of the enhanced XE037, labeled PE012, have been sent to several researchers for further study." What is this stuff they are referring to as "mutagen"? He didn't realize how much time had passed as he was attempting to understand these advanced chemical briefings, and that's when he heard a knock at his door... woops. At least he has an honest job now, as a test subject... Will he be able to make it out? It had been weeks after they had done tests on him, but one day the food stopped coming, and he decided it was time to try and break out. This is where our adventure begins. Escaping the lab.
Heads up to anyone watching, I am currently editing the second episode (1/31/25 at 5 am lmao), should be done soonish maybe a day or two? I recorded a ton all at once and editing that much footage (like 14h of 1440p 60fps recording) is on the slow side even with my last gen TOTL rig. Anyways, a lot of words to say going forwards the episodes will probably be more like 2-3 hours each, or at least likely shorter. I dont like when series like this are split into 1 hour segments that much so Im doing it differently! cant decide if im going to keep the 1440p 60 or drop to 1080, most of it looks fine, but when the screen is all undiscovered like the lab it looks like ass so idk, the rest looks good, and it might not even look better rendered directly at 1080 so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ive spent a lot of time speeding up boring menuing in this next one, obviously things slowed down a touch as we get a base set up outside the city, but dont worry there is lots of exciting stuff to come! see you soon with a solution to the ammo problem, and a spicy night raid! also youtube, why the heck does this say 9:20:12??? Its 5 hours long. man has this site been buggy recently, especially with all the reply @ bugging stuff. anyways, thanks for watching, hope to see you in the second one!
