  • In this episode, we start building suspension on a 1994 Ford Bronco. For the rear suspension, we are fabricating a triangulated 4 link for offroad. It is getting 16-inch coilover shocks and a sterling rear axle swapped in with the suspension.

    Top shelf content. I like that you included the little details of the teardown along with the build. That's usually glossed over in fab videos. And you didn't try to act like experts on the geometry.

    Very well done on the welds, look nice and deep/clean. Might want to tighten up that frame by welding in like 2 or 3 inch wide strips every 4 or 5 inches as a quick 'boxing' of them. Not a ton of steel and it really helps it out.

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage

      Thanks. I’ve been practicing quite a bit. We won’t be boxing the frame, but we will be adding some more cross members/bracing.

    I can tell how much more effort you put into the editing on this one. This is a quality episode. Keep it up.
    I'm interested to see how the frame holds up to flex from a 4 link, because mine flexes like a wet noodle on the stock leaves :).

      That’s a telltale sign Chris edited the video. 👍🏻
      The factory frame flexes quite a bit, but this will have a few added supports due to the shock hoop bracing and link cross member.

    I see some TIG time made it in. I'm assuming Kris quickly realized just how much slower it is than MIG, and moved back to that for the rest of the stuff. My one personal preference and suggestion would be TIG for the links if you're gonna do it anywhere. Nice work, and keep it up. We'll catch you... Staying reckless on the trail ;)

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  3 года назад +1

      Conveniently, the owner approved of me practicing TIG on this, so most of the truss work is TIG. The frame side brackets are tig welded together, then covered by MIG just to be safe. I plan to get more TIG practice where I can, but I want to make sure it’s going to hold together as well. 😁
