I've done recording session for laugh tracks. It's an interesting experience and I'd recommend people to do it if they get a chance. We were watching Tyler Perry's for better or worse and they just told us to laugh and react when it was natural. It took a minute for the momentum to build, but once we all got on the same wavelength it became the funniest show ever. I went back and tried to watch some later on my own on the other hand and was bored out of my mind.

the show actually is kind of dark comedy in a lot of ways when you break it down. the actor that plays Hank saw it as a dark comedy and auditioned for it that way.
That's not uncommon for non-emergency dispatch calls. And it wasn't even that long. Grilled cheese takes like six minutes to cook and 30 seconds to eat. That's pretty fast for not using the sirens.
