See I think the percussion is a great addition, not a distraction, because it gets my head and feet bopping! But that's my opinion. Great song as usual. TWICE never disappoints me!

As someone who's from New Jersey... I enjoy the part where they sing the lyrics "Give me the freedom to chase" and then the Jersey Club beat plays for a few seconds. That's one of my favorite parts of the video...... especially when Momo was killing the choreo to the Jersey Club part of the song

I am a Twice fan and Korean.
The reason I liked TWICE's song is because JYP NATION's vocals were audible.
The reason I like Park Jin-young, Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM, 2AM, and Miss A is because their voices are clearer than the music. However, as a fan of Twice, I liked the song, but it was a little disappointing. As I listened to the song several times, it was difficult to concentrate and listen because the voices and instruments were heard together.
When listening to a song, you have to pay close attention to feel the emotions. However, I did feel some emotions in this song, but it was just that.
I think the music is good, but I think it leaves something to be desired.
Without the percussion I think that would be very basic instrumental and a little bit boring !!
I'm confused you want the chorus to be different and adding the percussion makes it different but it distracts, but then what you don't want it to be different, huh. As you say to each his own but I have to say your explanation is more confusing than just saying you didn't like the song which I accept and completely disagree with you on. Their voices hold their own against the percussion which to me is the point and makes the song exceptional. I do agree with you on one thing, god Jihyo and she's not even on my wrecker line. I probably wasn't as articulate as I could have been. The percussion was fine, but the same tempo and same percussive rhythm was carried from the verse and into the chorus; it made the chorus feel less powerful to me. The level of differentiation that the interludes bring are very well done and I just wish the chorus stood apart from the verses in the same way, that's all. But also, thanks for the discussion. It's nice when people can express a difference of opinions in a respectful manner-- that's not always the case.
Well that I understand, still disagree because I felt that the verse was actually the built up to the chorus so it felt good to me but maybe if they had ended the build up sooner and let the last beats in the verse not be the same as the start of the chorus you might have enjoyed it more but as we've both said tomatoe tamotoe. I'm very old and in my day we didn't have this finality of opinions and two things could actually be true at the same time. OT9 forever (TIMELESS).@@ThisRoscoe
@@ThisRoscoeI understand exactly what you are describing, cuz I had the same (minor) issue at first. However, after a few listens I can't imagine changing it now lmaoooo. The chorus hits so hard for me now hahahha

I am so glad you mentioned the fast percussion beat!!! I love them but why does EVERY kpop girl group new songs now have this same fast drum beat ever since New Jeans it seems? They are all doing it now! I don’t even know how to describe it but you know it when you hear it. LE SSERAFIM started doing this a little on Perfect Night and I even hear it on one or two of (G)I-DLE’s new B-sides. This sound is getting old really fast. It is making every song sound the same and unoriginal. Again, I love them but I tend to skip these songs now on my playlists. Just my opinion and observation. Am I the only one who is noticing this lately?
