Why are you omitting the negative on the left side of (x^3 - x^2), (-4x^2 + 4x), and (-5x + 5)? Also, why is something I learned in elementary school so complicated even now? WTF.
uh, im younger than you, so sorry if you're annoyed by a reply 3 years late, but lots of teachers just omit the subtraction symbol, and no one loses marks, lol hope this helps 3 years late
You’d divide with the highest term(i.e. x^2, x^3) and then multiply the quotient with the other terms. Pretty much the same thing, but with more terms to multiply and subtract.
I'll tell you what has always made learning very difficult for me as I was growing up. It's non-sensical names academicians gave to things. In this case, Long and "Synthetic" division. Really? Synthetic? Does that even make sense? If the longer method was called "Long" division, then what would you call the method that takes less time, is easier to do, and is SHORTER? Anyone? Any takers? I'll give you a hint: It, too begins with an "S", but it's not "Synthetic". (By the way... Nice video)
the issue with synthetic is that if they dont give you the number to divide it by you have to guess which number its divided so you do more work then if you just did long division method
You put -4x^2-x+5 --------------- -4x^2+4x You were supposed to make the 4x^2 positive when you bring it down because the way you did it would come out as -8x^2 not zero
Thank you so much, you teach better than my teacher with 20+ years of experience
please tell me I am not the only one who laughed that "Paul" is doing "Polynomials" (Paulynomials)
Thanks! That was really helpful!
Thanks I have an exam on Monday ! Really helped

Hey,
Thank you for the vedio, i really understand the both of division, may you make a vedio about partial fraction.. please
are you wrong about the negative part
How would you solve it If, there was More than 2 terms in the dividend? What do you do then?
You’d divide with the highest term(i.e. x^2, x^3) and then multiply the quotient with the other terms. Pretty much the same thing, but with more terms to multiply and subtract.
so why would you use long division?

Wow amazing tutorial on the long division.
How comes the quotient is negative
is it possible to synthetic division if the nth term is greater than 1
thank-you so much ,this video helped me a lot 😃😃
Why ddnt you put a -1 as a
how do you know when to use which method
or just use the grid method?
Nice printing.
Is synthetic division the same as long division??
only works when dividing by expression in form (x-a)
can u please solve x^3-7x^2+4x-5
Very clear, thanks
Thanks mr ♥
Awesome

--------------- -4x^2+4x
You were supposed to make the 4x^2 positive when you bring it down because the way you did it would come out as -8x^2 not zero
-4x^2 - (-4x^2) = 0
nice bro
