The soil will quickly fill the voids between the gravel, then you just have the same problem. Except now you have gravel in your soil also.

I think it would be far more effective in the long run if there was a plastic perforated tile being installed under the gravel

yes we built it ourselves, we are pulling it now with a 140hp crawler and its working well. the wee TM was to fast believe it or not.

what happens when u plow? u hit the rocks?

davetileguy, except the rocks are very large the plough will pull them out of the ground and we fill the hole left behind with gravel.

if you are to plough there is adjustment so that the stone in the drain can be set to finish below ground level.
