Hi there, thanks for taking the time to review charging at The Piper, Chester. We really appreciate customer feedback as we are always trying to improve the charging experience and are pleased to see that you found the process so simple. We are very sorry to see that the first attempts did not work. We have reviewed our logs and can see that the two failed attempts were due to handshake error between the vehicle and the charger, possibly due to a loose cable connection. We can see from our end there were successful sessions before and after these attempts. We encourage all our customers to call our 24/7 support team from the number on the charger if ever they are unsure or in need of assistance. We are glad you were able to successfully charge on the second charger on site and hope to see you both return to the Osprey network soon. Thanks, team Osprey.
So is an engineer on his/her way to the first charger to try and ensure that the loose cable problem doesn't plague the next driver who turns up? Also it was very fortunate that there was no-one on the second charger or else the lady may have been in for a very long wait. Sums up the reliability of the UK charging network. 50% reliable if you are lucky
I think the CCS connector may not have been appropriately connected due to the cable tension being applied to the connector. If the car had reversed into the bay, I think that the charging session would have worked the first time.
Things to do to charge diesel car. 1. Find pump. 2. Check if it is multi fuel , petrol only, etc. 3. Select correct nozzle and insert in filler. (are you close enough to the pump?) 4. Select payment method, do you have club card, credit card , fuel card, and so on. 5 Start fuelling, stand there for some time whilst diesel fuel is pumped into car, ( Wasted time) 6. Remove dripping nozzle from car and replace properly in pump to stop it. 7 Pay, (do you have to walk into pay kiosk) was there a £100 prepay ? The point is that first time doing any activity can be confusing. My experience of EV charging is that it is in the main quick, easy, reliable and clean. The biggest problem seems to be that people do not read read their own car manual , and declare a charge point defective when it is their own error that is to blame.
When your tutor remarks "it's not necessarily going to be completely straightforward" you know it's *definitely* not going to be at all straightforward, but well done Rosie! 🙃🙂👍
Normal people sharing real experiences. Fantastic. We had a MGZS EV and loved it. MG5 a better car I think. If you want wireless CarPlay you can get an adapter. We had car2play and there are others.
Hi Chaps, just want to say thanks to you both for putting this channel together. I think that the MG5 is particularly appealling for its feature set and pricing (the first proper electric estate) and it's really informative to have such a detailed and real world assessment of this car for all of us lurking would be owners - keep it up! Couple of questions - 1. Is the aircon unit a heat pump or an electric air con unit (I believe the heat pump unit is more efficient) 2. What are you missing out on by not having the Exclusive model?
Thanks for watching and thanks for the encouragement! On the questions: 1. No heat pump unfortunately in the mg5 2. I think the faux leather seats (although we actually prefer the material ones in the excite), no heated seats, no auto climate control, no auto and heated wing mirrors, no keyless entry, no roof rails. There might be more, I'd check out the mg5 forum on mgevs.com The exclusive does have some desirable features, but we wanted to keep the cost down.
@@OurEvUK Thanks for the quick reply; sure, keeping the cost down, I get that! I’ll check out the forum, thanks for the pointer. Looking forward to the next video…..
The Charging- System is not so good. I`t was better too pay with Visa or ad Credit-Cards. The loading must be easyer in the Future. This many diffrent System`s to pay are not good for the User`s. The new MG 5 loadet with 90 Kw!

When are you coming to India?

Great show we need more like this. People are scared of new stuff and this sort of thing helps a lot well done
Had my Enyaq a month now and not needed a public charger yet, so I thank you for your upload ..... it should be simple enough when the time comes.
Thank you for sharing.
No problem!

A very good point!

She did so well to work it out!
Great video, thanks
Thanks for watching!
Informative video for an EVwannabe, hoping I'll be free of dinosaur 🦕 juice sooner than later.
Look forward to your next vid.
Glad it was useful!
Great video
Thanks!
This fail rate sounds extremely irritating ... I hope my area has reliable charging stations
Yes, it can be a challenge. Ever tried to park with a smart? parking meter. They often refuse my card..
Did you get charged three authorization on you card ?
No, only the 1 payment!

I suspect your problem could have been the strain on the cable not allowing the plug to align with the locking pin in the cars charging port?
