Out of all of the newer age actors that seemingly get "pushed" into any blockbuster roll for marketing, Timothee is probably the only one I feel deserves it. His passion definitely comes through.
Deeply talented and charismatic beyond his time! As I listen and watch I'm teary eyed! Timothee is a stellar kid! I will be going to watch him on the 25th and a few more times after!
It seems like a rare thing for a young actor to be so thoughtful and so articulate, with a deep fascination/curiosity about his chosen profession. His ability to closely examine a subject and his connection with it is notable.
It seems to me a long tradition of actors from NYC getting deep into the plays, characters, situation, psychology (Al Pacino, etc) starting in the 60s, 50s maybe ? (Actor's studio influence)
@@jeprosand he spoke the same way at 21. Go watch his actors on actors roundtable with Chadwick boseman and hugh Jackman. Also 28 is still young. If you look at what Johnny Depp and leo where doing at 28 you'll realise how young that is.
I think he got into acting for the artistry of it. He sounds like a geek when he talks about it. Which is good. Because he’s not in it for other reasons.
Timothee behaves in interviews like an actor who either did not receive media training or received it but did not take it seriously and I LOVE that. Most actors often sound bland and shallow when speaking about their roles , and he truly speaks from his heart about his projects.
He’s very authentic & very humble. As humble as a young guy in his late twenties in his position can be. He’s a good guy! I’ve always thought he was very impressive. Love Timothee 👏🏻😊
Timothee likely gets media training. It's really easy to slip up and have people really run after little things you say. Also it doesn't stop you from being yourself. I still feel like he's being careful but he's almost 30 so he knows how to have a nice conversation too. In combination with trusting the interviewer to not let him slip up either. He only did this when it was the right environment. The only difference is that Timothee truly loves what he did here and likely all the movies he's been in. Other actors, especially older ones, are not always in love with what they're doing. So they have nothing to really say and hence come across bland.
I think he 100% has media training and takes it seriously; he's pretty careful to avoid being offensive. But... he's also a rambling, kinda awkward dude. He even said in this interview that he doesn't feel he's a great speaker (I'd disagree, but he fo show can be very awk). What makes him so appealing imo is his positivity and enthusiasm, despite being a bit of a derp at times.
Timothée is so bold for choosing to start this press tour his way on his own terms. You could tell he just embodies Bob Dylan's spirit, this film is gonna be something truly amazing.

Tim is more diverse and impressive actor. Until I see Paul Mescal pull off singing and dancing in a Roald Dahl musical and then be the lead in the best sci fri epic of the decade in the same year then I will change my mind 😂❤
Love the irony of Timmy saying he always feels like his castmates are so much more articulate and well spoken in interviews. I know what he means - he does a million interviews a year how could you nail every single one? - but he has never been more thoughtful and articulate and switched on than he is here!!! Maybe it’s maturity, maybe it’s pure passion and enthusiasm for the subject matter he now knows so intimately - but he spoke to this project beautifully. Love ya TC ❤
Such a beautiful Interview! so good to hear Lowe and Chalamet have such an intellectual and personal conversation, whilst being knowledgeable and respectful of Dylan! Great approach to promoting the movie in an unpretentious and unfiltered way - respecting the art of Dylan’s work over a commercial approach, letting the music and Chalamet’s experience speak for itself! Absolutely love that the first interview was with Zane Lowe as someone who’s really passionate about the music and Chalamet’s understanding/ interpretation of Dylan himself.
as a young guy from minnesota, it was so cool to hear him tell the story of landing at msp and being sort of in awe of the experience from the jump. then he goes and rents a toyota truck, and heads up i-35 in the winter with some ice involved, while listening to sun records' greatest hits, to go learn about and feel what bob felt and see the things he saw. then he confirms "minnesota nice" is still a thing, which warms my heart. it's just nice to feel seen sort of, as cliche as that is, cause its not often people like him come here in the winter to go on a road trip by themselves. honestly he was a little crazy to do that but at least it sounded like he got a true minnesota experience. im excited to see this film and im gonna continue to learn about bob and continue with his discogrpahy in the meantime.
Timothee Chalamet proves yet again why he is one of the finest actors in the industry, sticks strictly to his craft( I know he doesn't use that term when he talks about his acting and doesn't like calling it that | but for a lack of a better word) brings forth true integrity of an actor and the discipline that is needed to keep your head in the game. I am currently in a completely different career path, but his discipline translates through the screen every time to remind me to stay consistently disciplined in my quest to achieve better results. Thank you Zane for this amazing chat, and ofc mine and our fav Sir Chalamet.
What an unbelievably passionate, knowledgeable and talented person timmy is, not to say humble! He has one thing on his mind and that is perfecting every role he plays, he is a sponge that wants to keep learning his craft from the people in the industry he most admires. Such a great guy, love him ❤️
Perhaps the most handsome superfan of Bob Dylan alive. All kidding aside, I love that TC has taken a deep dive here. He so sincerely expresses his appreciation of Dylan. I'm looking forward to seeing the film.
I could sit and listen to these two chat all day long. There's something so magnetic about people getting the space and freedom to openly share their passions.
Zane Lowe, dam I love you!!!! Honestly, I am 65 and am so grateful for the music we grew up with and continue to. I was so surprised to see you with Timothee, I first saw him in "King".... I watch every interview I can with you and want to sincerely thank you!!! You mean everything to our culture!!!! oxoxoxoxoxoxo
all i can say is ‘wow’. both timmy and bob are massive inspirations to me as an artist and just hearing this in depth, raw ramble about acting and music, two things im extremely passionate about… idk it just struck a chord in me (no pun intended). i respect timmy more and more with every project he does.
Timothy speaks beyond his years! He is so intelligent and well articulated - it's inspiring for a younger person like myself. Also a beautiful interview!
Timothee Chalamet to me is, the expression that comes to mind, a breathe of fresh air. He’s tackles so many diverse roles with an incredible enthusiasm and unique qualities. I don’t believe he will ever have to worry about being stuck in certain roles. His voice is crystal clear, his facial expressions, and body language are perfect for the characters. He definitely brings the characters to life. I’ve noticed he has grown in talent with each movie. After watching the trailers on RUclips I wanted the dvds for my collection. I’m still looking for the “King” and “Beautiful Boy” … wish me luck.
As a Gen Z who grew up on him, I'm super excited to see this introduce a younger audience who may only be familiar with mainstream hip-hop/pop to Dylan. I think he's about to make yet another generation think critically, and that is just what we need right now.
I could listen to timmy talk for hours, days, years about his passions, roles, life, and I would be happy. He was the boy who gave me my philosophy homework.
When timmy shuts the ruckus about him with his passion for his craft and eloquence, clearly this man does intensive research for his roles. Honestly, before I got to know him and his works, I really wondered why people had these sorts of hype about him but after seeing his works (like literally watching his films almost chronologically), I must say dang he's worth all the hype and admiration.
Just a tremendous interview. My tastebuds are wetted to see the movie. Always loved Chalamet, it's really nice to get a real view of him, great person. Was really absorbed in his connection to who and where Bob Dylan is, in his own education and perspective about him. This idea - the beauty in/of the moment, is why.
This is a brilliant interview, for those that wrote how they didn't get what he was saying-just think of those perfect imperfectly moments that have bled onto the path you have been led and are currently on; while looking back to see what you have made of your world in regards to what has made you; YOU. This interview is brilliant in the sense that life is a mirror with the contributions that your role has made. This interview is a simile as a retrospect.
I yearn for more actors that appreciate the art as much as this man. Keep doing what you do, Timothée!! I will watch anything you do because I know you will do it justice. Also, as someone who grew up on Bob Dylan thanks to their dad, I cannot wait to watch this film!
A Dylan fan since a long time and a Chalamet fan since a long time. In different yet indifferent ways they are both unique and magnificent legends that truly know how to make people feel more deeply.
Love Bob Dylan and I’m a fan of the people involved with this film, but I wasn’t that interested in seeing this story get a biopic treatment….until I saw this interview and realized the amount of work and passion that went into it. Now it’s on my most anticipated list
The trailer for the movie is enough to give goosebumps to those of us who grew up, listening to Dylan. I can only hope the rest of the movie is as good as the trailer!
I spend last 24 years reading interviews, and though some time at work watching the best journalists do their work. Following Zane since I cant even remember... 20+ years, so I can easily say - that was one of his top interviews ever. This is a conversation, and Zane gave Tim space to express. Masterpiece on its own. I dont remember when I first heard of Bob and his music - my dad is a music freak and he raised me with his belowed music around. But I remember, like 17 yo, looking for answer about future in Bob albums. Not to mention but his and I personalities are very alike... Cant wait for this movie. Honestly, how can you not be a fan of Tim, such a beautiful career and the best is yet to come. Thank you Tim, Zane, Apple Music and Bob Dylan and music lovers ths most. ❤
It’s great to hear Timothee continue to get so deeply involved in his work and express it so intelligently and eloquently. He’s a chameleon and there’s an endless list of different roles he can play. His agent/manager has guided him well and he has always worked with talented directors. I’ve seen just about all of his films and I’m excited to see this one. I think he’ll be great.
Fascinating interview to get some insight on Bob Dylan biopic..huge respect to Timothee Chalamet explaining how he got himself to a place of authenticity to be able to step into that character that is a bit like watching paint dry.. but in turn a genius musician..i'm so stoked for this film..it sounds like we're in for a real treat. Such a great guy, love him ❤️
I love how Timothée keeps relating back to Bob Dylan when talking about important parts of his life
Perhaps the most handsome superfan of Bob Dylan alive. All kidding aside, I love that TC has taken a deep dive here. He so sincerely expresses his appreciation of Dylan. I'm looking forward to seeing the film.
Timothee is SOOOO into Bob u can tell
I love when an actor actually likes the person they're playing
The character always turns out better
As a Huge Bob Dylan fan and ofc Timotheé Chalamet, I'm just so grateful that it's Timotheé who's playing him. Super excited 👏
I could sit and listen to these two chat all day long. There's something so magnetic about people getting the space and freedom to openly share their passions.
I love that Zane is so patient just letting him speak. Timothee is a great conversationalist. He seems like someone who you wouldn’t get bored with 😂
he's so passionate and knows so many details about everything like hes a film nerd DOWN
This guy deserves an Oscar … great great actor !!! He amazes me.
Right with the eloquence aspect, but: beyond his years? He's almost 30...
Very true, he does....but he speaks too fast and slurring the words...
Man i love timothee as an actor so much. Hes so passionate and loves his work so much, and has so much respect hes amazing!
As a Gen Z who grew up on him, I'm super excited to see this introduce a younger audience who may only be familiar with mainstream hip-hop/pop to Dylan. I think he's about to make yet another generation think critically, and that is just what we need right now.
His first movie was like 5 years ago how did you grow up on him..
@ Dylan. I grew up on Dylan.
@ ohhh I was like how oh my gosh 😅
@@MIRRORTHIEF yes I think I’ll watch the movie maybe to learn about the musician (more excited for Marty Supreme)
@@Musicalnotes9678 LOLOL I can see how you read it that way, no worries
I could listen to timmy talk for hours, days, years about his passions, roles, life, and I would be happy. He was the boy who gave me my philosophy homework.
When timmy shuts the ruckus about him with his passion for his craft and eloquence, clearly this man does intensive research for his roles. Honestly, before I got to know him and his works, I really wondered why people had these sorts of hype about him but after seeing his works (like literally watching his films almost chronologically), I must say dang he's worth all the hype and admiration.
Timothee’s passion in his work is so beautiful, he deserves all the praise and success ❤
I love how the interview just really let him talk about his passions and how he actually reaches into his characters
Zane Lowe has finally met his match in the loquacious department. Loved the chat.
I can only hope the rest of the movie is as good as the trailer!
he is a beautiful person.
The talent and passion this man possesses.
God, your mind Timothée. I would love to see the world the way you see it.
Wow. This was a really fantastic interview. Super impressive how knowledgeable Timothy is on all this.
Ok i love you bro the fact that you haven’t got an oscar already is criminal
There's people predicting already that he could get his second nomination for this role.
This is, honestly, THEE most adhd interview I think I’ve ever seen Zane Lowe facilitate 😂😂😂
Gotta love Timmy Tim! 😅
Thanks to Zane Lowe for always coming up with goods 👏🏽
This is endearing. As someone who’s spent at lot of time at the church of Bob I hope I love it.
i could sit and listen to him talk about anything, i swear
So glad you found your juice, Timmy! It's so heartwarming to hear you speak so passionately and articulate about your work and acting. You are a true gem, a pefect mix of goofball and intelligent thespian. I've been a fan since CMBYN and will be forever in ave of your work.
so happy for him. he’s definitely a humanist and deserves all his success. Generous soul. Can’t wait to see what he does.
He is so mature now. Such a pro in the show biz.
Great interview. I'm impressed with Timothee's dedication to playing Bob and his years of research going into it. Im excited for this film to bring Bob's music to a new generation.
Absolutely awesome interview..
As a younger millennial, I am so excited to experience the wave of new Dylan fans that this movie is sure to bring in!
24:35 yk that's exactly why I still have so much respect for Timmy he is still very much humble even tho he proved himself many times since CMBYN
The transformation within his work is mind-blowing
Didn’t think he could pull this off! Was wrong! Fabulous!
The most important, impactful actor of our generation. He is so brilliant.
He is one of the best actors of his generation.
Timothee has the ability to be totally present wherever he is .wonderful gift..no wantng tp be somewhere else or distracted is 100% there....enaged and ready he listens too.. im.envious. im.old guy who wants to be lke timothee when i grow up
Beautiful beautiful interview. Thank you. Timmy is a real artist 🥹👏 excited to see the film
the range and genuineness of this man wow timmy you never fail to amaze me and your fan base
I can hear in Chalamet’s voice the “s” pronunciation that Dylan has. It’s so interesting how changing your speech for a certain period of time can have an effect on your initial speech.
! around 3:50 I noticed it and looked for this comment, you’re so right!!
well i know tim has always had a slight lisp. if you go back to some of his red carpet interviews during 2018/2019 when he gets very excited it pops out big time. idk if this is what you mean here but if so, the lisp is all his lmaooo
i love the interstellar story, its funny everytime he brings it up
I wonder too. What about those Iconic movies Dune, Wonka, Bob Dylan? He is Iconic actor in those films.
He was at his lowest point during the "Interstellar" era, those challenges really shaped him, he was in such a massive film while still being a complete unknown
nice closing pun there
An very honest and.. calm Interview. Thank u apple! Meeting Tim one day would be a dream come true..
TIMMY IS INSANELY TALENTED...I LOVE HIM SO MUCH🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🥹😍❤️🔥🫶🏻💙✌🏻
It's rare to see actors so passionate about what they do and the actual art of it nowadays. Timothée is a breath of fresh air amongst it all.
This is a really sweet interview :) it's nice to hear timothee reminiscing and talking about how he relates to Dylan
I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation. Timothèe has matured so authentically in his craft and person!
