How many died in rollovers in these early race cars, they thought about aerodynamics but not about driver safety. I guess it was a macho guy image thing at the time, scarfs wrapped around their necks, big glasses and the pedal to the metal! 😅

pre-selector gearboxes were used a lot for racing especially in the UK. It allowed lightning fast gear changes while keeping both hands on the steering wheel

I like those gearboxes. They are quirky and interesting. Don’t know if I would enjoy driving one, but I would be happy to try..!
