@@surreallane9730 its difficult for many unfortunately… I was protesting against antisemitism since the 80s, later that was going further - it was against all hate and racism no matter which. Thise who were always involved in those issues know exactly whats going on, but unfortunately many never really cared, they were just somehow anti-nazi and now the right wing is turning that around because of problems with muslims… on top they never followed the politics down in the middle east - I was in living in Beirut until I was 3yrs old in the 70s bc of my Dad doing business, we were later often in Saudi, the UAE, Iraq - I love Oman and therefore always followed it, read a lot about all those problems, so I’m definitely more aware of that. Also - i travelled much more than most, lived in the US, in China etc… and I live in London in the moment and the UK Government has also a different perspective, which is difficult for the german government because if our history - we’ve been always blamed for everything
Antisemitism IS real. And no I’m not shifting narratives to say Arabs are also semitic, which is also true. I’m placing emphasis on the fact that Jews did suffer, unjustly. It was a terrible thing that should have not happened. But they didn’t learn from it. They exploited the world’s sympathy and overstepped all boundaries. If it happened to my people, you know with all guarantee we would make sure it never happens again to ANYONE. But Xionists? No. They used and misused it and they abused it to spread corruption. That’s where we draw the line. Especially in Germany which is afraid even today to face backlash for something it has provided reparations for every step of the way, when let’s face it the evil came from Austria which shares NONE of the German burden. Ich finds gar wichtig für die Deutsche damit gut umgehen zu können, die Moralrahmen gut zu bezeichnen. @Gillsing While it's true that we all consume resources, there's a significant difference between using shared resources-like food or energy-and deliberately harming others. Society is built on cooperation and mutual respect, and taking someone's home or life destroys the foundation of trust and order. While we all depend on others to some degree, it doesn't justify violating their rights or dehumanizing them.

Dude I love black metal too. But the lyrics don’t even compare to our reality anymore. I’m Jewish and I showed that kind of music to my parents and they were horrified but for some reason when they hear about Palestinians dying, it’s all sunshine and rainbows because it’s normalized, because it’s real life, even more so because they’re “enemies”. Thank you for speaking up about this issue. I am Syrian and Israel occupied a part of Syria (the Golan Heights) decades ago. People think that this issue started on October 7th or that it's all about Hamas/Hezbollah when the root of the issue started 75 years ago and is as simple as a colonizer (Israel) illegally occupying lands that don't belong to them and killing innocent people in the process. It's depressing to have to live so many years watching these things unfold, but I'm grateful that people are finally starting to realize the truth of the matter and it's thanks to people like you for speaking up.
Respect Ruby for this post. I'm Irish and Ireland, and along with 145, other member states recognise Palestine as its own sovereign state. We've now had a year of seeing Voldemort at it's work now they attack Lebanon, people have held protests in multiple countries and still all the UN do is talk about sanctions it's completely sickening there needs to be hard sanctions on trade and weapons these 2 would be a top priority. Solidariety from Italy. I am disgusted by the censorship there is here in the EU regarding this. I can't believe that the human being can go this far. And he who doesn't do anything, is as guilty as the person who commits the crime.
At least the Europeans have the decency to reprimand Israel and some hold arms. We Americans simply can't. I hope Europe can go further in bringing about justice and sovereignty for the Palestinians. Exactly! There’s this really good independent coffee shop near me that’s like a buck or two more expensive than Starbucks but it’s actually high quality coffee that’s well worth the price tag.
I think that we should all have that one ounce of personal integrity to invest a few minutes in finding out the next non-Starbucks coffee shop in our vicinity. Is that too much to ask? Yes, i felt horrible when that country had a terrorist attack. I fully supported them saving the hostages. However, i can't support genecide. I can't support bombing refugee camps and hospitals. That doesn't save hostages. In fact, they killed one of the hostages they were "saving.". Shot the hostage. When Russia bombed a hospital in Ukraine and a refugee camp near the border, Americans were outraged. Now they say nothing. Yes, i speak out when i hear anti-Arab statements from friends or strangers. I overheard two women i don't know talking about the Middle East and alJazzera and "why don't we just bomb them? We don't even know what their name means.". I quite loudly said "the island." And everyone went silent 😂 I know I'm rambling, but it is so sad and makes me embarrassed to be an American. I live in a very Jewish community in America, and the hardest part for me is to see people actively being ignorant. We have good education where I live, yet nobody has talked about this conflict and any mention of it is danced around. Many seem to take offense for any empathy and writing save Gaza on the bathroom walls could be considered hate speech. There are probably many who think otherwise but don’t want to speak up. Voices are silenced. Especially those of Palestinian descent. I am almost at a point where I don’t care to hold these words because it isn’t “socially acceptable”, and even more ironic is many Israelis believe the entity is continuing this war to stay in power. Some even say he doesn’t want the hostages back. Some want a ceasefire AND a hostage release. Since America isn’t where the conflict is, people can pretend this isn’t happening. But it is, and it will be remembered. Although, however we feel, we cannot let overstimulation, desensitization and helplessness keep us complacent or simply angry. We need to center ourselves and turn these feelings into compassion so we can help those close to us who are maybe dispassionate realize the humanity lost in this. Our voices and views matter, and can give or take humanity to those in dire straits. Stay strong. Peace to all.
You are the one being ignorant: Why did Hamas launch attacks from the tops of apartment buildings they didn't evacuate? Why does Hamas build their bases and bunkers only for their fighter and only under and around civilian buildings? Why do you think Hamas didn't build bunkers or gather supplies for all the civilians that would be directly impacted by the war? Why didn't Hamas build their bases and fight away from the people? Hamas could have kicked everyone out of their homes and turned them into bases for their fighters? Why didn't they do that? I was angry that none of the civilians allowed to travel and work in Israel didn't warn Israel about the attack, then I realized they weren't told either. They were never told about the upcoming war, Hamas didn't allow Gazans to prepare for it or leave the areas where the IDF would launch attacks at Hamas, because Hamas wanted the civilians there. Hamas launched the attacks, because they were going to blame all the civilians' deaths on Israel, and they counted on ignorant gullible people to believe the IDF was attacking civilians that happen to have Hamas fighters accidently mixed in with them instead of the truth which is Hamas wants to harm as many of their own people as possible to turn the world against Israel. You got played and Israel getting played. Israel should have made sure the world knew Hamas was launching attacks from places the IDF wouldn't attack unless attacks were launched from those areas. But don't believe me. Look at how little Hamas has done to ensure the safety of the people who elected them and look at all the resources Hamas spent on the tunnels, bunkers, rockets...etc. How good would the lives of Gazans be if all of those resources went to the people rather than this stupid war?
@@robertp457how dare you talk about how H doesn’t ”ensure” the safety of the Palestinians when you support the entity that is starving them and dropping 2,000 lb. bombs on their homes, hospitals, schools, tents, EVERYWHERE. Lebanon did take part in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War against Israel, but Lebanon was the first Arab League nation to signal a desire for an armistice treaty with Israel in 1949. Lebanon did not participate in the Six-Day War in 1967, nor the Yom Kippur War in 1973 in any significant way, and until the early 1970s, Lebanon's border with Israel was the calmest frontier between Israel and any of the other adjacent Arab League states. The most turbulent period in binational relations was during the 1970s and 1980s, upon the Lebanese Civil War. During the first stages of the war, Israel allied with major Christian Lebanese militias which led the Lebanese government during the early 1980s. The countries effectively reached normalization of relations with U.S.-brokered May 17 Agreement in 1983, but it had been annulled by Lebanon after power takeover by Druze and Shiite militias in early 1984. People who have power back are getting reimbursed for generators that purchased to power their homes and work is non-stop. I agree with the sentiment you hold here in most ways (mostly moral), but I'm not sure i agree with someone saying "they only gave them $750!" to leverage their argument on Israel. You said $750 will only last a few weeks, and that's the idea. It’s a holdover till we can get some actual infrastructure rebuilt and a better solution for the displaced.
@@blest5132 And you think ash isn’t getting the support it needs from the govt? They’re handing out $400 a day paychecks to help transport things like propane. My entire city is filled with trailers subsidized by the govt for housing the displaced. Search and rescue has been going on since the day the damage occurred. I’ve made a few runs myself with generators and gas from Wilmington (I’m based in cola). All I see on social is ash is just abandoned when it’s not, and all these people are complaining about foreign interest as if it has anything to do with it. Clearly it’s not “only $750”.
love you bro, from a French-Iranian living in Paris Lebanese people have always been the nicest "Arabs" here, others being judgmental about religion and such but what's going on now is not even about ethnicity nor religion, even though it makes it easier to care nah brah, it's about what's right and what's evil
One thing that saddens my soul so much, is someone or some people thinking they are mightier than you so they can destroy you because you don't matter. That is such an egotistic way of thinking. We ALL matter!!! Let's learn to live in LOVE and peace!!!❤
It's always emotional to hear how other people are processing this madness, we should vote whit our money, our voices, our choises and bodies, thanks for posting this.
Growing up in France, I knew several people from Lebanon. Adults, and children my own age. I also bought takeaways at least once a week from Lebanese eating places when I was living in Paris and tried to recreate some of the dishes at home after I'd moved to the UK. One of my doctors is Lebanese, I was discussing the country back in the 2000s, asking for tips as I hope to visit it one day (and would also like to visit Iran and Voldemort's country... but I think I'll have to skip those 2, Iran because I don't want to end up in prison). One tip my doctor gave me was to visit Lebanon first, as I wouldn't be able to enter the country if I had been to Voldemort's country, even as a tourist, although there are arrangements for business travellers, such as having 2 passports. He also told me he wasn't considering moving back to Lebanon (as several French Lebanese people did when they retired, in the 2000s) because, in his words, many people are ready to jump at each other's throats again. I wonder where my French Lebanese (some of them dual nationals, some of them French people who had married a French Lebanese person) acquaintances are now. Also thinking of that Lebanese lady I spoke with at Harrods in 2015, back then, about 1/3 of the population of Lebanon consisted of refugees from Syria. I am glad you are 'safe' in the US. Ask your cat to give you a big big hug from me. Boycotting is a good idea. Be careful not to tar all people who could be from Voldemort's country with the same brush though. Several of my doctors in France are Sepharade Jews, most of them look like 'Arabs' (and get controlled by the French police regularly, just like my Lebanese Christian doctor, and the Iranian refugees I also knew growing up... some of whom were atheists, and sometimes homosexuals!). One of my Jewish doctors, who spoke Arabic fluently, and worked with Muslim Northern African (Algerian, Moroccan) colleagues (just like my Christian Lebanese doctor) without any issues told me once that he had thought about emigrating to Voldemort's country like many French Jews but he didn't like the government there, and it felt like having the Nazis in power, only this time the Nazis are Jews and the Jews are Muslims and Christians (Edward Said, the American Palestinian academic, was Christian). People who speak out, like journalists (Haretz), academics, opposition politicians, get into serious trouble. These days you don't even need to send people to prison: just make it impossible for them to work, i.e. to earn a living, and they can quickly end up on the street. Most people will stay silent rather than risk their livelihood, especially if they have a family to provide for, and children. I recommend Robert Fisk's books on Lebanon and on the Middle East (The Great War for Civilization). He is a British Irish journalist who has been based in Beyrouth for several decades. Some British academics criticize him because he didn't read classical Arabic at Oxford, he learnt Levantine Arabic while living in the Middle East. Decades ago he was already saying that WW3 was more likely to start in the Middle East than because of the former Soviet Union or even China. Well done for your calm and for being such a decent person.

That’s where we draw the line. Especially in Germany which is afraid even today to face backlash for something it has provided reparations for every step of the way, when let’s face it the evil came from Austria which shares NONE of the German burden.

While it's true that we all consume resources, there's a significant difference between using shared resources-like food or energy-and deliberately harming others. Society is built on cooperation and mutual respect, and taking someone's home or life destroys the foundation of trust and order. While we all depend on others to some degree, it doesn't justify violating their rights or dehumanizing them.

I found that one effective way to ask people to boycott is by giving them alternatives. So instead of “don’t go to Starbucks” I would say “we’re boycotting Starbucks BUT I know a better place to get coffee, let’s go there instead”
Yes, here in the UK, i've started going to Pret's for my coffee.
Yep!
Exactly! There’s this really good independent coffee shop near me that’s like a buck or two more expensive than Starbucks but it’s actually high quality coffee that’s well worth the price tag.
@@iamdamosuzuki_ Yes Starbucks aint that good tbh
I think that we should all have that one ounce of personal integrity to invest a few minutes in finding out the next non-Starbucks coffee shop in our vicinity. Is that too much to ask? If we are so endlessly entitled and comfy that we are only willing to abandon a pro-gen0CId€ shop if someone serves us with the route to the next alternative so we don't have to bother, then we're not worth it...
Rudy, you are a man of good moral fabric. Youre absolutley right. Enough is enough
One part I find truly insane is how many people are still using 40,000 as a number. We know it's at least twice that. We know it's likely three times that or more. They literally demolished every home, hospital, school, and utility building possible. Where are the people supposed to go even when I says it is done? This horror is too much.
It may be much worse. A letter by The Lancet showed that the fatalities since the beginning of Operation Swords of Iron could number more than 186,000. This is about 8% of the Gaza Strip's entire population. We still don't know how many people are trapped under the rubble, and keeping track of the figures is nearly impossible in the current state of the territory.
@@_S_I_ Yeah I've seen that report. Completely unsurprising to me. I think by the time this is over, Israel will be directly responsible for at least 1/4 million deaths. It's insane people don't realize this.
These wars have never been about the people who live IN a country but about those who OWN the country and the people are mere pawns in their war games. Thank you for starting the conversation. I have been horrified by the attacks by the country you discuss.
I quite loudly said "the island." And everyone went silent 😂

You are the one being ignorant:
Why did Hamas launch attacks from the tops of apartment buildings they didn't evacuate?
You are actively supporting their Jen o side but have the audacity to blame H. Just sickening.
@robertp457 1. H.a.m.a.a.s was born because of the oppression, brutality, theft, dehumanisation, etc. Of the evil entity, you don't blame the symptoms.
2. Investing in defence is the best strategy for anyone because it allows you to protect yourself.

Southeasterner here. Theres a ton lost here and everyone adjacent is helping. While the $750 thing thats been thrown around on Facebook groups is true, it’s being framed and leveraged incorrectly. The $750 is not the end all be all, its just to get anyone affected by for a few weeks for items not as commonly donated (prescriptions, etc). People who have power back are getting reimbursed for generators that purchased to power their homes and work is non-stop. I agree with the sentiment you hold here in most ways (mostly moral), but I'm not sure i agree with someone saying "they only gave them $750!" to leverage their argument on Israel.
