Followed this guide too to upgrade my Ender 5 Plus firmware to Marlin 2.0 For the screen-> Do not forget to format the USB stick and set the allocation unit size. I forgot the formatting step and my AUS was different and it did NOT update anything. After the format it worked like a charm.
I have to say you need to focus a bit more on this firmware as you skip over it, I am not new to firmware but have had to dig a fair bit to find the answers, this will end up in a world of pain for those who dont understand how to do it
Hi , i have the E3D hemera , end downloaded Hemera Mount for Ender 5, butt where can i found the fanbracket? there i no link in here. Where can i found it? thx.
Perfect, this is just what I needed. The E3D Hemera is the sexiest DD on the market right now. Is there a particular technique to load material as you can't see the gears feeding the filament?
Hey Jason. Thanks for the video....are you planning on doing a revision with the new Revo Hemera quick change hot end..... I was also hoping you do a firmware compile for the ender 5 and BL Touch and I found the the filament sensor has no way to be working at the same time on the silent mother board ... with the Creality firmware (LAME) though there is plug for it and the BL Touch. Be awesome if you could assist.... Wanting the upgrade .. even bought it from you guys :)
The one I designed for our previous Hemera video for the CR10V2 ruclips.net/video/sn0mLLTGF28/видео.html The mount STL is on our github. You need BLTslider and Fanbracket. github.com/3d-printing-canada/CR10V2-Hermera
You didnt have any issues with nozzle not making to the bed? Because I'm about to try to raise the bed because I can't get nozzle down. I just top out trying to level
Hi, Thanks for all your videos. I would like to purchase an Ender 5 plus but.. I have a new Hermes on my desk and want to make sure I can put it on the machine. I also have a Geeetech A30 that I tried to put the Hermes on and do the firmware flash. I pluged the A30 in and heard a pop. So I believe I fried a 3 week old machine and do not want to destroy a new machine ( Ender 5 plus). I have never used any of the firmware programs and have struggled for 6 hours now trying to follow your video. I need to download the correct firmware and do not see the link to do it. I did successfully download the platform and vscode. I have been 3D printing at work (teacher) for 6 years now (Taz 4 and Taz 6s) but I am not very computer literate. Since I am teaching from home I need a 3D printer that I can use.
can someone give me a link to upgrading my ender 5 plus, I purchased a 500c heat tube, v6 hot end, and a 500c thermocouple/thermistor, what do I need to set in the firmware and how,, unless someone has one preset for me to install, which would be aweseom.thanks
So, I have a question. I used your mount for the Ender 5 Pro (very well made mount BTW!), and it seems the mount causes the print head (nozzle) to exceed the bed by about a 1/2". Not sure if I missed anything but is this a known issue? I only ask because I have a fairly large print
Why not just create a github link with the configured marlin ? Now mostly useless guide, link to Marlin no longer exists and can't find any versions close in formate to what ever this was If anyone could link me something close enough that would be great, seams I'm going to have to start from scratch with a totally generic guide after the fact of completely re configuring my printer.
Nice tutorial, that mount on the Ender 5 Pro is extremely wobbly and you lose a lot of build space, it now slams into the front of the cage. Print quality is not great.
You should probably set your limits better... I would guess, that's just an oversight on your part. From what I've seen and played with, you have the power to adjust all the travel limits. You must have missed that in the tutorial.
Great walk through love the mount design :-) I would NEWER print the fan shroud in PLA. PETG or even better in ASA would be my choice Thanks for sharing.-)
Agreed. This particular fan shroud is too close to the heater block for my liking and will soften. Industrial DLP resin is my go to for this ;) In FDM I usually use Polycarbonate or ASA
I've had my Hemera (and all the extra parts I need) for a week and have still not installed it. I've printed all the brackets and fan shroud in PLA+. I've assembled everything than can be put together before physically modifying my machine (Ender 5 Pro). I designed and printed my own overhead spool mount. I'm all set, but I'm still nervous. The physical install and soldering are pretty straightforward. What bugs me is the tuning. Is there any way to do this outside of incremental modification of code and having to open and re-open the case to inject the mainboard? I'm new at 3D printing and already not that great at finding problems and fine tuning on print settings alone. If I start going the wrong way on one thing then try to go the wrong way on another thing to fix the first thing I broke, I might wind up looking like some really bad overly tuned slicer settings (guilty!) If I go with the recommended settings, how far should I have to go on adjustments?
..after installation I will re-print everything in ABS, I just don't want to attempt that with the stock print head. I have a glass plate, spring metal PEI plate, and the stock "mousepad" creality plate. I'm in the large creality tent, with a dehumidifier, air filter and outlet fan, custom brackets for mounting on the tent frame, webcam, lighting, spool dryers, etc. My goal is to be able to regulate temperature in the enclosure. May require heating/cooling unit, but I keep the humidity dialed to 30% or less.
Am I the only one having issues with the flashing process? I see no github link at all in description so I type in it as I see in the video. Even then once I download it I am not getting the same 7zip file to extract. S.O.S.
I have the same problem. I downloaded the file from the github page with the same name. but the folder structure is different. I tried to follow the instructions in the video but the MS Visual Studio code when I go to build, it comes back with "he terminal process "C:\Users\khanj\.platformio\penv\Scripts\platformio.exe 'run'" terminated with exit code: 1." can any one help me. I am trying to add only Hemera and nothing else. Thank you.
I just installed one on one of my tornados. I used a different mount, but the general physical install process is almost identical. If you have specific questions I will gladly answer them here.
After I followed this video, why if I press auto level or measuring theres glitch then crash, and i have to restart. Is it means my autolevel is not working? And why the size bed is smaller? Thank you
This is the full cable cable kit i was referring to, but you dont need all this, so it only makes sense if you have it (or pieces of it) laying around: 3dprintingcanada.com/products/cr10-extension-cable You just need (2) of these: 3dprintingcanada.com/products/stepper-motor-extension-cable-43cm
@@Jason-yn6oy Thanks. I was going to grab some of the cables but the parts were a few bucks and the shipping was $20. Gotta find something on amazon instead, thanks though!
3d printed shrouds make me shudder. You're relying on the accuracy of the printer to make sure everything is aligned and plumb. I'd take CNC machined metal any day.
There's no need for wires, just clip them all! Take a chainsaw and just rip them all out. Connectors? Ain't nobody got time to do things properly! This is just for the video, so why bother actually taking the time to do things the right way? Once you're done, just toss everything in the bin and buy all the new parts from your shop! OR buy appropriate lengths of cables and make your own cables that run between the original headers if need be!
Excellent video. Thanks for the quick answer over the phone. I generally leave comments, but this was more that worth it. Thanks
Great info, clear instructions, quality presentation. 10/10, definitely subscribed

Can you link the BL touch attachments?
still dont see a link to the firmware
I broke off the nozzle while tightening :( Didn't think I used that much force either
Id love to see what improvements gained using this type of setting
i have done everything but at the end i didnt find the screen 7z files with the tiny machine`s marlin , how can i get them please?
Can this be done for anycubic Kobra neo printer???
I also use a different firmware how do I combine my extruder settings with that firmware
Where is the link, please

these steps work for the ender 5 pro too ????
I was wondering if you could mount the EZABL Pro to this mount? Thanks!

Did you need to adjust the stepper driver vref for the hemera stepper motor?
this guide is irrelevant to current standard, the bare basic info is there however it will not get you through the config setup
I'm really unclear on the flashing step. Is there a write-up somewhere?
same here please let me know if you found a solution
I want to upgrade my ender 5 with the hemera like in your video.... Will this work?
Is this pretty similar to volcano on the Ender 5 pro?
