Mars Hydro VG80 LED Grow Lights | My Initial Impression

- This is just a quick overlook of this model and a few opinions that I have about them. I will be doing a later video as mentioned at the end of this one. At some point in the future I will be using them for their intended purpose.
I don't like wasting time unboxing products on camera just for content. I can say that it was well packed and I didn't see any reason why it would ever be damaged from shipping. Any time I have received lights from MarsHydro they have been well packed, well designed and I have not had one product fail during the time it was used.

Just to clarify, the other way to use the cable holders is to loop the cable around what you are hanging the lights from and back into the compression hole. It works well that way. Also, some standard shop lights work almost as well as these, but these are more intense compared to most options. And stringing more of these together is quite easy too. Price wise…I can’t really say if these are worth it. I’m a big DIY’er so getting something like this goes against my money saving mind. But for anyone looking to pay to make it easier, these might be worth the higher price point.
This is killer for lettuce, but are good enough for clones hanging the two VG80 in a 2x4 tent using rope ratchets.
Great cutting/seedling light. I like the way they daisy-chain together.

Can you use it as side lights ? For certains trees 🌲 lower canopy ?
Hey! How far would you recommend putting the lights from seedling trays when using the two lights together?
If probably do around 10” for more Even Coverage. I would not try to grow them for very long as seedlings under these lights. You’ll want to increase intensity to suppress reach. Micro greens are fine for the duration.

Do you have any suggestions for 4ft shop lights for seed starting? I was all set to order barrina 6500k leds on amazon today until i dug into all the 1 and 2 star reviews about them almost burning people's houses down. They're built like crap, and I'll be leaving these on all day while no one is home. Any suggestions? I appreciate any help
For seed starting you could use almost any shop light. Just make sure it’s 3500 K or higher. The only thing that matters for seed starting his proximity to get the right intensity. If it’s a white light you can just use a lux meter via a phone app. You can watch one of my other videos about luxe meters to understand how to convert that to par.
