LOL I love when she said "get to the fucking point Penn" 😂 I think we were all thinking that
Had me howling, yet I gotta admit I do relate to Penn on the verbal waffling, with me it’s an anxiety response with him it’s likely just due to his intelligent brain throwing so many thoughts towards his mouth that he can’t get them all out at once.
Jameela is such a refreshing guest and an absolute force of nature - love her. You can tell how much everyone loved her vibe too. Honestly think she's been so misunderstood, particularly in activist/left spaces, when she is such a force for good.
I remember when there were loads of grim, ableist posts about her life along the lines of 'so much bad stuff couldn't have happened to one person' and it's like, that's the whole point??? So much bad stuff shouldn't have happened to her, shouldn't have happened to a lot of us, and she's just a great example of someone moving f o r w a r d and refusing to be made small. This just really reminded me how great she is

wow this was such an amazingly well rounded and insightful episode. i love how ms jamil was so eloquent and knew exactly how to answer all the questions in such a quick manner that was tru to who she is. gosh ive totally fallen in love w this podcast its such a wonderful breath of fresh air. sophie, nnava, and penn are such funny and kind hosts and i love their dynamic. so so so insightful. i feel like mybrain expands listening to these.
I really appreciated the talk about eating disorders and body image, especially coming from a middle school podcast. I’d love to hear you guys tackle those and other mental health issues.

Jameela is so real ❤. I totally agree with the fact that beauty standards are ridiculous , there are things that shouldn't even matter . It's so sad how media and societies have contributed to all that.

I really loved this. I’ve always loved the good place and have had it as a piece of media that both fuels much needed escapism and optimism, and it’s so nice seeing Jameela in a fuller way so I can see her playing Tahani in a bigger way too! I loved how real everything was :)

that's so weird hearing about parents being mad at or forbidding some cds or shows, especially when my dad was the one having a cd from eminem and me being the one watching a show and making everyone watch it (like they'll say it's stupid at first but then really get into it)

She is so manipulative. She'll say she became famous overnight and then say "I still don't know what i'm doing" forcing everyone to rush to rescue her ego. It's narcissism 101
Strange comment, both can be true at the same time. We all get that you have a selective bias to dislike her.
Penn doesn’t need to be on this podcast. He doesn’t make interesting comments or ask interesting questions. He makes me cringe every time he ruins Jameela’s jokes. He adds ZERO value to the podcast and is probably better off being off-camera and focusing on his day job.
