I was also going to ask.. why sand? Is it the most cost effective way you guys have found? No issues with mastitis? Also.. is there any way to recapture and reuse the sand that makes it to the lagoon?
@@doug1883 it is the “cheapest” bedding to get, but the most expensive on the back side. We do run a 70k scc which we feel is excellent, also like that it gives cows a little better footing when walking in the barns. I don’t believe we will use sand forever but it is an excellent bedding for the cows. Just a major pain for everything else
I think the skidsteer is one of the greatest "modern" inventions for a modern farmer..
Maybe try putting couple water bars or small mounds of gravel across drivectoo divert water off too side
