It feels like the general balance is close enough to get in line over time but the SC1 races seem to be missing important tools vs specific units. Trying to beat Ultras without Immortals looks vile.
@@abunja Yea thats probably worse than bringing blink stalkers. Storm will only hit 1 or 2 ultras due to the size and won't be cost effective with some micro.
I saw on another cast in which carriers can do old carrier micro in this mod. (Targeting an extractor to get the interceptors out). I just cant remember which cast.
Would be nice to see a single game on a map that isn't extremely sc2 favoured. How in the world are the sc1 races suppose to expand on these maps when the sc2 races have 5x the mobility, and sc2 zerg have basically 50x the mobility and can expand everywhere no problem.
Brood War storm is 14 damage times 8 ticks = 112, sc2 storm is 10 * 8 ticks = 80. So BW storm does 14/10 or 40% more damage in the same amount of time.
I agree that the BW races need to lean into splash damage. I think if the devs want to make the BW races stronger, they could lean into that even more.
the sc1 and sc2 factions are ballanced quite well against each other. Some pros and some cons, there isn't an overwhelming meta. Everything has a counter, ofc, needing a good player, not spamming vultures and thinking the mines will obliterate everything. It has worked in the early stages, but strats are adapted to counter the vultures' mines spam
People disagreeing are probably the kind of people who play like they are playing BW in this mod, rather than adapting to the SC2 economy. MC did it too; just sticks to 3 bases until game end. That doesn't work.
sc2 ultras absolutely destroys bw units it seems. frenzied makes such a huge difference cuz bw spellcasters dont really do much against ultras. no ghost or libs and no immortals or voids. it feels like reavers hard carry bw toss and then ht and dark archons are both super imba but if zerg doesn't die then ultras and vipers are amazing.
Just goes to show that having reavers in SC2 wouldn't have broken the game. If you can't win with SC1 reavers and storms, how can you win with SC2 disruptors and storms?
Are you saying because SC1 protoss isn't broken that giving the reaver to SC2 protoss also wouldn't be broken? That is kinda retarded if you think about it since the two races are so fundamentally different.
The reavers in this game were absolutely busted. It's just that MC didn't actually play like it was SC2. I mean only 3 bases throughout the entire game. 16 min game. Just lol.

Mass reaver + shuttle seem promising. 8 reavers obliterates everything Zerg has.
Storms + mass Dragoons if Zerg fully commits on it

The reaver can still hit even with 0 scarab in. Bug still not patched. I would like to see more dark archont mind control.
Did they change the scarab hit animation? It seems less flashy on impact
