You have just described me; retired law enforcement from California and moved to Arizona; retired at age 51, and I have not worked ever since; been retired over 5 years; everything is paid including my house and have a pretty lucrative pension and thats not including my retired military pay that I will soon receive at age 60 (retired from the Army Reserves); I have no children or a wife; I wished I took more time investing into a healthy Christian family; it gets kind of lonely at times, but I do have God in my life; without Him I would be devastated! Family Family Family; thats what I think all young people should invest in; money definitely does not bring happiness or joy; God brings Joy; I love ur youtube channel (been watching for years) and your adorable family!

Geezers. It's never too late to start dating. You may find a single ( for whatever reason) mother with children , and maybe grandchildren. Get a dog , take it for walks. You never know who'll you'll meet. I'm almost 70 and just found a new man friend. Just being companions right now. May stay that way, may become something more. I wish youvwell in finding a companion of your own.

My husband works in the renewable energy field. The company he works for is international. To make the most money he can he has to work out of state/country. The last 2 years he’s been in Canada, we live in Michigan. It has its up and down for all of us. A lot of mental in there. We keep the end goal in mind and do the best we can. Rough going most of the time but we get through.

It was so pristine up in that 'neck of the woods'. It still looks so beautiful but all of Alaska is something. There used to be 3 ancient back up generators but now they seem to have one. IF you think the system that you shut down Bert is old, you should have seen the one that was there Back in the day, at least the one I saw. I was told it was from the 1960s. That was once a point in which the Army would use. Most of the jobs there were seasonal which was why it was interesting. It was from winter to winter; you didn't necessarily do the same thing. Stay warm!

"Golden Handcuffs" are how the employers keep a lot of workers from leaving. As in the lower 48, aircraft workers made a lot of money in the past. However with acquisitions and lower respect for workers has disappeared. When I was in law enforcement (late '70's to early '80's) AST was advertising here for LEO's starting at >$30K. I would have come there, but family said no. And I regret that nearly every day.

Hi. We’re doing fine in Florida. This winter has been great. 60’s-low 70’s days and 50’s at night. Windows open and AC not needed. Been following AK weather and the deep freeze. Isn’t there a worker shortage in Anchorage? Boy, this would be good for my 21 yr. old son. He has issues but maybe the pay and just a change in scenery might help. 🤔 Is Coldfoot the last place you can drive where there are roads?

I wondered if you’ve seen the series ‘True Detective’? Season 4 just started on Max and it takes place in a small village in Alaska. It’s starring Jodie Foster. It’s soooo good. I feel like I’ve learned so much about Alaskan villages from Bert that I can see where they really nailed it on a lot of things. I also checked on filming locations and they filmed in Iceland, which was disappointing. However the cost to film in Alaska (hence the title of this video) would be astronomical in sure. I feel like the more shows they have out there displaying the way of living and culture of Alaskans is great. This one is a scary but humorous show and not for kids. I feel like when Jodie Foster decides to act in a movie or show you just know it’s going to be good. ❄️

I’m a truck driver here in the U.K. , I average anywhere between 60 and 70 hours a week , with regular 2am to 4 am starts and 15 hour days, and been away from home Monday to Friday , so I’m used to the work I’d just love to do it in Alaska .
