Does your plant go into Dormancy in the Fall/Winter months? Thanks for the tip.
Hi, I am living in a tropical country and it is hot here most of the time, but I experienced dormancy just recently when we had continuous rain for almost a month. New leaves sprouted already so all is good. But it is normal for Alocasia black velvet to go dormant in cool temperatures.
Beautiful black velvet🌿☘️done subs🌿☘️my new frnd.. godbless
Thanks po! ❤
Thanks much po for sharing but not much new compared to other videos here in RUclips. IMHO
Hi! No worries, I'm just documenting what I discovered based on experience. 😊 thanks for dropping by, greatly appreciated. 🙏
Ate, Mine is small pa, when do you recommend repotting? Goals ka ate!
Hi! Thanks for dropping by, if your pot is too small, lipat mo na sa medium size kc their growth depends on the size of the pot. Soil mix, prone sya sa root rot so the mix should have proper drainage, regular garden soil will do mix some ipa ng rice or perlite. Or buy loam soil that will do. Good luck with your black velvet! ❤
Nice and concise 👍
Thank you! ❤

Hi! I bought my alocasia two months ago. I found that there was a net pot attached to it. I took the plant removed the net pot carefully (roots were not dense though) and replanted in the same soil. That time it had two leaves. I can not see any new growth in my alocasia and the leaves are drying out. Can you please guide how to save the plant and get new growth..
Hi, yap the roots of this one is not that much, are you sure you did not damaged the roots? I'm wondering why its drying out, it could mean that the roots wAs damaged when you remove the net and re-pot the plant. And place the pot away from direct sun. How's the drainage? Make sure the soil is well draining and don't water it often, water only when half of the soil is dry. Hope that helps, let me know how it goes.
Regarding new growth, once the plant is well established and happy it will give you new growth. Plant vitamins will also help. And make sure to place it in a medium size pot to encourage new growth.
Drainage of the soil is quite well. And as I can recall I haven't damaged the plant. As the plants went to the replanting shock and then revived. Thanks for the tips hoping to see new growth. (Fingers crossed 🤞)
I heard that you should cut the flower because it takes nutrients from the leaves
hi yes, that's true. the plant will look healthier too if you will cut the flower same with Aglaonema.
@@EdViAriah thank you. I will chop them off asap
Hello nice video. But don't understand what did put will make leaves better. Please kindly explain English
Hi! The trick is simple as explained in the vlog in English, transfer the plant in a bigger pot to have enough space for the plant to grow, it will make the leaves bigger in no time. Try it! Good luck! 👍😊
Hi, If the plant's leaves are curling, maraming possible reasons. Pwedeng not getting enough light, it's either being overwatered or underwater, a potassium deficiency, pest infestation, low temperatures, lack of humidity, or even over-fertilizing. If tama yung lighting, sa pag water wag antayin na dry na sobra yung soil bago diligan, baka sobra natutuyo yung soil, pag medyo half na tuyo, then water na. And check din baka may mga pest sa leaves, if feeling mo all ok naman, check and wash the roots then palit soil. Hope this helps! ;)
Hi gud evening..
Nice and beautiful
Black velvet.
Love it...
Tnx for sharing nd
Caretips.

Thank you so much and God bless too. ❤
Hi! What kind of soil that you used fpr this Alocasia?
Hi, I used garden soil mixed with rice hull. You can use loam soil, just add some perlite , rice hull or a few small coconut husk for irrigation. Alocasia is ok with moist soil but should not be left soaking wet or it will rot.
@@EdViAriah 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 thanks so much
Tnx u so much u reply. Kindly tell me do know any thing like plants stem make thickness and bigger make leaves.
I transferred big pot and vitamin some.still same
Please kindly help me
Specially I like to do this plant ( Bangladeshi bottle groud ) if will write Google u can see plant. Like long marrow. Maybe u know Bangladeshi, Indian bottle groud.
Only grow good hot countries
Hi! Yeah I googled bottle groud and we call it "up" here in the Philippines, its one of our most common vegetable. I don't plant it because I don't have space for it in our backyard, you'll need trellis since this one is a climber. Anyway, I searched for some tips for you I hope they'll help: Bottle gourd should be grown in open and sunny locations.
Top dress the plant with a thick layer of coco peat and well-rotted manure in equal parts. Repeat this 2-3 times during the growing season.
Bottle gourd plant requires plenty of watering for growth. It requires abundant moisture all the time.
Continuous stopping and pinching of climber ensures very faithful and sharply plant.
For the black velvet, the trick is just the soil, make sure it has proper drainage, you can mix perlite with your garden soil or rice hull then indirect sun, watering only once half of the soil is dry and use a bigger pot for easy growth. Then you'll see bigger stem and leaves. Good luck! 👍😊
pwede tanong? pwede ba irepot yong may flower?
Or make sure nalang wag magalaw yung ugat para d masaktan pag repot.
What soil mix you used
Hi, I just used regular garden soil and mixed some rice hull for the irrigation. You can mix perlite too or orchid bark. 😊
@@EdViAriah Okay thanks 🙏
Thanks for the info. How about the bulb? What happen now?
Hi thanks for dropping by! The bulbs already sprouted and now with their new owners. These plants that I transferred also have new babies now, I'll post their latest pictures in our FB page. Pls follow us there! Thanks! ❤
Namulaklak pala sya..
Yes po numumulaklak, matagal din bago mawala.
How much po if you buy a live one at a garden store? Newbie po here👋😊
Check sa mga fb groups yung iba nagba-barter iba selling their propagation cheap lang though maliliit pa then ikaw na mag alaga may mga 200 to 300 na price range. Goodluck!
@@EdViAriah Thank you po
Hi! Dapat well draining yung soil, prone sya sa root rot kc, d pwede mababad sa water. Kahit regular garden soil, mix it with ipa or yung coconut husk na putol putol, or mix with perlite if meron ka. Para lang maganda drainage. Loam soil is good medyo pricey nga lang. Hope that helps! Try again, makukuha mo na timpla nyan next time, goodluck! 😊
Hi! Well draining soil for them, d nila gusto mababad sa water so dapat the water will drain well. ordinary garden soil, you can mix perlite, rice hull or yung coconut husk na maliliit. Hope that helps 😊
I think, the best way to get big leaves is by potting the plant in a big planter 😂🤣
yap, so simple but it works! Mine finally have new babies now. ;)
Check the condition of your soil ha and wag sya direct sun.
Nag yellow after a day ang leaves. Talagang d mo
Hi, it could be due to the condition of the old soil. Or baka nasaktan nung pinalitan mo ng lupa when you repotted? Marami kasing possible reasons. A cause of worry pag as in namatay yung plant. Assess mo lang need nya, nasaktan lang siguro observe the other leaves and make sure ok drainage ng new soil. Cheer up, at least you're taking care of it and assessing it's need. Gardening is trial and error, check what works for your plant. Good luck! ❤

Hi! Ang curling nasa watering e. If curling downward overwatered sya, minsan kc tuyo na top soil pero basa pa sa loob, check drainage too if may proper drainage sya. If curling inward naman underwatered sya, trying to retain moisture. Check drainage first, if may water meter ka u can check the soil moisture, if wala kahit stick lang or if you can dip your finger to check the soil. Hope that helps! 😊
@@EdViAriah thank you maam! I will try your advise po. 😊
