- After buying the old stone house on the hill . He hired skilled craftsmen to renovate and rebuild the house. Build huge stone walls. Because of the difficult terrain, the renovation process takes a lot of time and money. Hope everyone likes this video.

It’s a shame that much of the beautiful old stonework was either demolished or covered by stucco. Especially the interior doorways and walls they would look amazing with just neat pointing

In China no one owns their homes they are leased by and owned by the central government. Many people do not spend money or energy on major structural upkeep or expensive renovations and interior decor. is easier to rebuild cheaply nearby to it , move in and let the old home rot. Hence villages of abandoned tumbledown homes.

Why is it we never get to see the finish? It’s always left to almost but not quite. Please show how it looks completely updated. It’s such a disappointment to go through the whole video and be left hanging.

Missing something??? Bathroom is unconnected to house...how is this convenient in rain or snow or night, also steps are very polished also ??? In bad weather. Otherwise house is stunning.

How do these places get so trashed
They have been a banded for many decades, some of the ones I watch on this channel have had families die out due to no children to inherit because of the old 1 child policy and once the the people have passed on their homes are just left as it was the day the either walked away or died. One of the ones I watched was a young man who returned after 30 years to his family home and spent the following year returning the home back to the way it looked when he was a child.
@@dawsie I wondered why there were seemingly so many of these homes in such abandoned condition, but knowing why is rather depressing. Thank you for the information. I knew about the one child rule of course but seeing the results of it makes me so sad. Very poignant situation.

it could have been so nice - but all this cement and concrete paving. sorry, but there is way too much cement in the construction in all of China. sad to see a possibilly good project being ruined.
I'm not trying to be mean,this guy worked very hard,but he did all that construction, demolition and labor,to still have when done,a two room house with a bathroom on the other side of the yard!!!😒
Never judge how you live with how they live. Keep it in context of the place he lives and how they live. I live in Australia and I love what he has done I love the idea of the outside kitchen that so many of these restorations have done on this channel. They don’t have as much saved in their lives and they live very simple uncluttered lives I look around me and I wish my life could be so much more simpler than it is.
@@dawsie You are absolutely right, since I started watching these videos I've seen that they most have in common the kitchen and bathroom outside the house itself, that's the way they live. I am myself from Spain, but I really admire the work and effort they put to renovate the houses, they are really doing an amazing job!!!

@@conniebaughman9894 The water line is barely buried. That means it won't get cold enough to freeze so it must be southern China which is tropical. Only further north and west does it get colder and there's an actual winter. My husband was born in Hong Kong, it's HOT!

Malgré les sommes colossales dépensées, ca ressemble toujours à une guérite de chio...s dans une cour de prison. En plus c'est construit n'importe comment! Pas étonnant qu'ils aient une crise de l'immobilier en Chine si ils construisent tout comme ça. Chaine décevante, car tous les contenus sont incomplets, trop longs, mal filmés, fatiguant à cause de la vitesse, et on ne voit rien de beau à la fin. Come chaine de propagande pour le "soft power" chinois, il y a de gros progrès à faire.
