A little message to let you know that Akai can thank you. This video definitely won me over. I've been using MPC live for two weeks and I treated myself to the "Fabric collection" plugin pack. And I don't regret it at all. Your video is really cool and convinced me. Thank you for your work. Thx.
Very useful. My favourites are Tenderness, Brass Orch. 1, and Attack Strings. Its not just a Dance/RnB machine. Its proving that I could potentially create cinematic scores here. May I offer a suggestion here though; a lot of sounds you only concentrated on the mid and upper ranges - if you could demonstrate the lower ranges more consistently that would be awesome. Orchestral patches are the thing for me and I'd love for Akai to prove it can be used for movie soundtrack scores. Great video though, very useful! 👍
How many pads are there anyways??? I think this could be my first synth and I’d like to know if the sounds are easy to get lost in. I am however stoked at the fact of a workstation mpc in one of course!!! But my other options other than that are the prologue 8, or hydrasynth 49/73
Fantastic Apresentation & Performance. I like the Suitcase+Times, Slow Strings, Romantic Piano. Really for a pop rock musician, the sounds have too much delay, as you mentioned
@@PinkBuddhaAcademy Thanks for this ! I’m wondering though there are 6,000 presets which represent several variations on the same sample . How many actual different sound sources (waves) are in there? 5 or 600 perhaps? Just my guess . Sounds good. As a synth not the best I’ve heard, certainly not the worst . Again, great thing you’ve done for us here .
That Celephone 14:44 is BEAUTIFUL!!! One of my most favorite instruments, in addition to Unsolved Mysteries. I've written a few songs with Unsolved Mysteries and Attach Strings and even using with Orchestral Hits. My Wife says it's magic.
Hello, Thank you for this review ! It's a good surprise for me cause there's many nice instruments and the pianos are particularly sweet. For the delay, I totally agree ! It seems that Akai got a discount on it!
Great Video! Thanks The Fabric Xl sounds are real good compare to others workstations? What your opnion about the new Akai Mpc 61 key? I'm interested in buying a workstation to compose pop and rock music, without the needing a computer.
Interesting synth, but the Force has most of these sounds in it already. The dual layer feature is the only big advantage I see. Love what AKAI is doing with these plugins. They will sell me on a few of them, I can see it no, but probably not this one.
How's the loading times from preset to preset? I was sure because these take up a lot of space, that they don't load instantly like on regular workstation etc. Yet i see you just scroll thru them with no loading time, or is it just the video editing?
@@nucentury08 provided that there is adequate ram available for the samples to load, i do not think that memory size has a significant correlation to preset loading time, so either the keys61 has a slightly different architecture, or faster ram/processor imo
Question- Is there a way to save the changes you make to instrument FXs/parameters? I just got this thing and i love it, but there is too much delay and reverb on 90% of the instruments for my taste and it's annoying having to tone it down every time i pick a new sound.. hopefully you can help?
Thanks, where can I find a list of ALL the presets please? for someone to find "saxop" to be able to find saxophone or "flut" to be able to find all the flute sounds out of the 6000 presets!...short of fishing through every plugin category, how can I do that? Thanks again.
The sounds are nice but as you mention every so often as you play along, some sounds were just not practical for use. I was hoping to hear more bread & butter acoustic type sounds. I read that this unit doesn't have any woodwinds and saxes, so that was basically the deal breaker for me - unfortunately. Otherwise this synth is nearly perfect with all that it offers.
well - the have XL and just the Fabric ones. On the MPC Key 61, it has more RAM, so you can do both. But the Force and the MPC prob really need to just use the "lighter" version.
@@PinkBuddhaAcademy Yes it would be very long!!! I totally understand! But maybe your Title is a bit misleading, people might think there are only 100 patches in Fabric.
No ; you will regret it! The workflow on the Force is still way better than any other MPC … speaking as someone who has the Force and used the MPC X and the key 61 . I ended up passing on both the X and MPC key 61; force workflow is way faster in my opinion and modern for sure…! But if you feel like having a new toy will make you better or inspire you to finish more songs then go right ahead… I’ve found the Mpc workflow leads to more loops than full songs…compared to the Force

Sure - I can provide more range next time.
Pads on the MPC Key 61? The standard 16 pads. Although.....they could have easily added more!

For producing, this keyboard is a beast. I wonder if it's good for playing live, since it takes a few seconds to load.
It is! You just have to configure it in certain ways to easily jump between sounds. I've done it!
great job
😎✌️
OPx-4 next!!! Also, there's over 1200 presets in Fabric XL. This is the "Preview" bank, correct?
Yes - I'm just finishing up that video for the OP-X. And yes...the preview one. The other one would be too exhaustive!
Thanks!!

Are all this sounds on the screen comes with the price for the key 61 ? or you have to buy them separately ? Thank you.

Maybe check out the Mini-D - I just posted a video on that one today: ruclips.net/video/wIO3q8pHdy4/видео.html
Where in the Force can I find those sounds?
How's your hunt for a polyphonic synthesizer going? I think I'm either deciding between a Prophet 6 or Prophet 10
I have honestly been less focused on it lately, as I sort of re-allocated that budget to other gear! haha

On the mpc key 61, it's pretty instant. No video editing tricks.
a noticeable lag from sample loading on the akai force..not a workstation alternative from sound perspective
4Gigs RAM Vs 2Gigs It’s Fast My Maschine+ had 3Gigs I believe!.

Is it better than Roland Fantom 06? Listening to the sounds, it looks fat and beautiful on Akai.
Haven't really played the Roland
What scale was you using when playing emotional case
Lol...idk. Would have to go back and look
Hi
Does Fabric XL come pre-loaded on the Key61 or do you get a cut-down version and then have to pay for the full version?
Yes - comes with it
What are the limitations to this keyboard? I heard you can only load 8 tracks while in keyboard workstation mode?
I don't have it anymore to test, but think that sounds about right.
Question-

Yeah...you just have to save your own presets. Just save the program/kit, not the project.
But yeah, I hate how akai does that. It's ridiculous.
Can someone tell me what plug-in to adjust to an 80 reto wave synth sound like songs produced by Timecop1983, kalax, The Midnight. Bands like these.
is the mpc key 61 plastic or metal like the x?
Plastic....but like REALLY high quality plastic
@@PinkBuddhaAcademy thanks for getting back to me. ive ordered it regardless but was curious as no one really talks about the build quality

I was just demoing it.

@@PinkBuddhaAcademy Thanks, yes I called Akai customer support, they confirmed they missed that, she said maybe next update!...
Their are categories, but no woodwinds, no flutes, no woodwinds, and brass section has no clear sax
Is Fabric XL also available for the 37?
I would imagine so
It sounds like that aftertouch/vibrato is heavy on a lot of sounds.
Yeah - way too heavy, imo.

Yes it has an arpeggiator SMH
Is this standalone or on mpc software
It's the same for both
