The only reason I heard about this movie was because Sophia Carson, Vanessa Hudgens and Liza Koshy were in it. Other than that I would never have thought about watching this movie because I'm not a big my little pony fan, but I want to watch it now. I've also been listening to the song "I'm looking out for you" which is an amazing song, Kamiko Glenn's singing is amazing and that's the other reason I've been wanting to watch the movie🥰🥰🥰

My biggest critique was the abrupt ending. Felt that the producers could’ve added more towards the end for better closure.

What's extra amazing is that Zipp's and Pipp's VAs are dressed how I'd picture the other sister dressing if they were a human.
Kimiko Glenn and James Marsden, imo, were the standouts in this. Their comedic timing and line delivery was incredible. XD

@@ma.2089 Depending how you look at it. I know g5 is supposed to be its own thing but g4 is still canon. This means questions will naturally pop up. Do cutie marks and talent still work the same or not since they still had it without magic? Why is Pip's wings different? (if it's in the film, I didn't catch it)

It seems Izzy's VA has the personality to match her character. I love it.
I feel like I'm uncultured by not knowing who Vanessa Hudgins is. She did a really good job as Sunny. I wonder if she'll return in the series.
I'm very familiar with Kimiko Glenn because she voiced Lena in the DuckTales reboot. I had no idea she could sing until recently. Apparently, I listened to a song from Waitress ("when He Sees Me"), and I had no idea that was her. I really like her. She gives off Kristen Chenoweth vibes. I can possibly see her coming back to voice Izzy in the series. She's known to do TV series, but I know she's also doing another Netflix original (Centaurworld).
I'm also very familiar with James Marsden from the Sonic Movie. It's so funny. When the casting video had came out, I saw him, but I couldn't remember what he was in. As much as I'd live for him to return, I don't think he will return to thr role in the series. He's too big of a celebrity (unless Hasbro really has the budget but I doubt it). Besides, he's gonna be busy working on next several Sonic Movies.
I wasn't familiar with Liza Koshy. I saw that people said she was a RUclipsr. I watched one of her videos and thought that she was so hilarious and entertaining. Her as Zipp is like the perfect cast choice. I heard she's kind of highly paid. So, I don't think she'll be back for the series. Hopefully they'll get somebody just as good.
I had never heard the name Sofia Carson. I'm a musician, but I never listen to the kind of music she does. I absolutely loved the song that she did though. She was really great as Pipp.
I'd love to have all of the return, but I can't see most of them returning.
Vanessa Hudgens is most well known for playing Gabriella in the High School Musical trilogy but she was also great as Rizzo in Grease: Live.
Sofia Carson is most well known for playing Evie in the Descendants trilogy

It’s a bit ridiculous they’d hire such characters for these roles if they’re not going to return in the future. While, yes, it seems like a thing they’ll do, it’s really dumb. Kids don’t care about celebrity voices. But they will care if the voices of the characters they like suddenly change for the regular series.
My worry is that Gen 5 won’t sound or look as good as this did, which is why that despite the movie being good, the series could fall apart with all the changes and that’s sad

But they're trying to include older audiences too since they've been seeing that there have been more older teens and adults watching the show. They figure they'd catch the attention of older audiences with celebrity actors. They've done that in MLP FiM too. With the 2017 movie, they brought in Emily Blunt. She's practically a celebrity actor. They hire celebrity voice actors to get it promoted for the show.
I figured that, as far as new voice actors, they'd find actors that sound pretty similar to this cast.
I'm just keeping an open mind about voice actors and animation for the show. I'm not expecting something as great as the movie, but I still think it will be really good.

I like how this is the second time Kimiko has voiced a cartoon equine, both of whom are absolute POLAR OPPOSITES.
One likes to crush the skulls of her enemies and literally doesn't even have an actual name.
And the other is a blend between Rarity's creativity and Pinkie Pie's enthusiasm, who loves making friendship bracelets.

Vanessa killed it as Sunny (her high note in Gonna Be My Day ALWAYS gives me chills) and it's so good to hear her singing again. For her first voice acting role, she did fantastic.
I only know Kimiko from Liza On Demand, so when I found out she could sing I was caught so off guard! Her voice is amazing and I've been addicted to Fit Right In. She's perfect for Izzy. (EDIT: completely forgot that Kimiko was also in Close Enough and Into the Spiderverse lol)
Don't really follow Sofia Carson like that, but I know who she is from Descendants and I know she can sing. She was pretty good as Pipp, I love how soft her voice is.
James Marsden isn't a celebrity I know too well, honestly didn't know his name beforehand (I haven't seen the Sonic movie, sue me), but I like him as Hitch and I really enjoyed his singing voice.
And I liked Liza as Zipp. Gotta say Zipp is probably my favorite pony because of her design and personality, but of course the fact that she's voiced by one of my favorite internet personalities is a huge plus as well. For Liza's first voice acting role, as well, she did awesome.
If you want to hear more from Kimiko, she was in the musical Waitress. She does an amazing job with When He Sees Me. Also, James Marsden was in Enchanted. You should check that movie out if you've never seen it.

I’m new to My Little Pony. I thought I watch the movie to expand my horizons now that Power Rangers is part of Hasbro
I was just watching the movie yesterday. I may never have been into My Little Pony. But I was a bit surprisingly entertained. Nothing like Edward, Gabriella, Evie and Lena teaming up as Ponies.
I like how they can have on-screen chemistry, even when they're recording their lines at different times (and in a few different places, from what it looks like)
And this is why the soundtrack wasn't out a couple of weeks earlier, Kimiko just couldn't get past this one part. XD
I honestly think they all did amazing, but idk if it's because I'm a huge fan of Sofia's, but I just can't quite picture animated Pipp with her voice. Like it sounds too not cartoony if you know what I mean? It's like her voice sounds too much like her, but she honestly did great thooo

Well day. They're dead. This new one is way in the future. And sure it sorta crumbles what was built but it's set for a lot of new stuff to come from it. It's not restricted by the past show at all. It can build and make new things.

This is for the people who’ve watched the movie because I’m gonna explain a little theory of mine and it’s gonna involve spoilers. I believe certain characters are distant relatives to the mane six. Sunny I believe is related to Twilight, because Sunny never gave up in believing the 3 different ponies can live together in harmony and at the end she turns into an alicorn. Her book even has Twilight’s cutie mark on it. Hitch is related to Fluttershy because there are multiple scenes when creatures are mysteriously drawn to him. Izzy is related to Pinkie Pie because she never loses optimism and she crafted the decoy just like Pinkie Pie would, with glitter. Sprout is related to Applejack because he’s the only pony who is a bright red like Big Mac, and his mother calls him sugar cube, and the only pony who calls relatives sugar cube was Applejack. Zipp is related to Rainbow Dash because she has the exact same personality as RD and didn’t want to do the makeover to disguise herself as a unicorn. Even though she’s a royal, she’s the only one out of the royal family that doesn’t wear any accessories, implying she doesn’t like girly stuff. Pipp is related to Rarity because she thrives on people’s love for her and is more girly. Now I know what you’re thinking, Pipp and Zipp are sibling how can they be related to different ponies from the mane 6. But let me explain, Have you ever realized Zipp looks way different than her sister and mother. She’s a white pony while Pipp and the Queen are purple/pink. Her not liking girly stuff is probably because she’s not a biological daughter, because Pipp and the Queen love attention and accessories. I have thought about why Pipp has really fluffy, feathery wings while Zipp doesn’t. Actually now it’s making me think they’re half siblings. They never mentioned a king and Zipp is older because the Queen says Zipp is in line for the throne, implying she’s older, so we can rule out the possibility of them being twins. Zipp got her wings from her mother, the Queen, and everything else was probably from her father. Pipp is the exact opposite, the only way for the Queen to give birth to a Pegasus with completely different wings is that if she had a different father than Zipp. She got her wings from her dad and everything else is from her mother, the Queen. So this is why I strongly believe Zipp and Pipp are related to different ponies of the mane six, because their fathers were the descendants of Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Or the Queen herself could be a descendant of Rarity and Zipp’s father was a descendant of Rainbow Dash. So that would make Zipp related to both Rarity and RD and Pipp only Rarity.

Biased stuff aside: i feel like the movie was better than the old seiries i mean the design the animation the voice seirously im not saying that the old seires was bad i loved the old series but this new movie wasnt just saying "be friends be friends" yk what i mean. I usually prefer people who are specialized voice actors to do voices rather than outside celebrities. This did work out pretty good though.
I really hope the series is as interesting and amazing as the movie, the songs and voices are just as good and enjoyable (this is the first time in a mlp series/movie I actually like the songs and will play them on my own time), and the animation is just as good and in 3D.

oh snap! hitch was voiced by James Marsden? i thought he sounded familiar. i was worried when that article came out about Sunny being an activist, but it felt far more organic in the movie then the article suggested; and found myself actually enjoying it

God I find it crazy that the guy who was Tom in the sonic movie duology is voicing hitch. But I remember one time hearing that he was voiced by Ben Schwartz who was sonic in previously mentioned film duology.
