The spell rolls looking kind of like toilet paper gave me a very fun mental image of the Paper Mage “TP-ing” a building, to then ignite the spells afterwards
The rabbits are so cute! and remind me a little of studio ghibli. I also love the paper mage, there probably my favourite character so far, maybe not including the broken music box.
The moment I saw the toilet paper-shaped scrolls and the giant plunger staff I was immediately reminded of a villain from a show called ''kids Next Door'' named the Toiletnator. The paper mage design is far superior to the point where I thought this is how the Toiletnator always imagined himself as🤣🤣. Excellent work on the art, looking forward to more in the future. Keep up the hard work
Definitely a few edits I would make to the design if I wanted to develop them further. I struggled a little with the colour palette for this character so there’s plenty of room for further exploration. I really like the main concept for the Mage, as well as the Mini-Mages so will try and revisit this character sometime in the future. Also, I say the word “spells” A LOT in this video😂
Objectively I love this character design, you could do so much with it or otherwise reserve it as a stand-out X factor to spice up the story. The bunnies just add to that, there's so much other good fauna that having one specific to a single character helps portray that sense of power as a rogue element. Though if I had a suggestion to refine the flashy design a bit, Wellywell over there has a flashy outfit and a lot of paper wrapped over it, but both may be too much. Rather, as a soft power scale, you could give them a pattern-less costume and require them to fill the blank space with the flashy spells they collect, a way of indicating how each mage hides under the veil of their stolen powers.
Not only the idea but also the design of the characters and props are AMAZING! as usual ofc. I love how their masks are mostly cute but their faces are scary when viewed from the side. They look like mysterious and fun ~ and mini-mages... i need them they're so cute T.T
Love this guy. And I love more the idea of him fuming under a bus stop with all his bunny’s hiding from the rain. Probably watching an epic fight that would have had great spells for him.
I love this guy and design so much! My immediate thought was that maybe the guy keeps saving spells but he can only use them once? That paper being spent afterwards.
I am in AWE of the mini-mages!! The second I read the title I thought 'I hope they fold tiny little guys to be friends', but this is so so much better! Incredible as always :)
An entity not entirely bound by moral rules, but rather how they decide to make themselves; more powerful but risk being devoured by the magic or in control but in need of trickery or being thoughtful of how they proceed. At least that's the main notion i liked from the questions in the end, really neat design!
The only thing that can easily defeat the paper mage is the scissor mage! Just like how paper decays, the paper mage has soaked up too much evil to return to their former selves. Thank you for another video! I have an exam tomorrow but this has cheered me up
Your concepts are incredible! I’ve always loved this level of whimsy and mystery being put into creatures/characters, but there’s so few artists I’ve found who actually do it like this. Hoping to someday learn how to make my own designs, but for now I’m more than happy to take notes on your method 💖
This is sooooo cool!!!! I LOVE how you essentially took inspiration from toilet paper and a plunger!! That's so creative!!!! So wonderfully human! Fuck AI!! The magic in my story is inspired by a printer! Just goes to show human creativity can come from anywhere!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello, I’ve been watching your work for a while, and I have to say that I love how you create an almost entire world based on a simple concept. When I saw your videos, I was aspired to create my own world for a story of mine as I took notes how you created your concepts. But because I have so many ideas, I get carried away with all of them and lose focus. If you can give an advice to someone to prevent this from happening, what would you say? I enjoyed your videos, especially about the heads & tails birds.
What helps for me is breaking it all down into smaller chunks and tackling each part at a time, whether it’s world building or characters. It definitely can be tough to balance it all, I still struggle with keeping it all focused, but having it in smaller segments makes it feel a bit more manageable and I keep making progress with it (even if it’s small bits of progress)✨
@@laurason1191 Absolutely! Focusing on one thing at a time stops me from rushing the process, especially for characters- I think I start to stress if I take on too much and that causes me to rush the drawing process, so I’ve tried to take it a little more slowly lately (especially since I have to juggle other work as well) ✨ It’s definitely all about finding a comfortable pace for yourself🙌
Since the Mage are made of paper, does that mean they are weak against fire or sharp objects as scissors? Or even earth-based spells? I think that would be an interesing reference to rock-paper-scissor game.
Now design the Paper Mage's biggest rival..... The Water Mage (Joking). But it would be a cool idea to design a Mage with opposite powers, like reflecting back spells that are thrown at them. Like a Mirror Mage or smt similar.
Wouldn't the oposite of taking spells be giving them? So wouldn't the "reverse" Paper Mage's powers be giving people some of its spells or fractions of its spells?
What a cool concept, which is no surprise when it comes to your channel How do you have so many ideas for original content and world building? I find it Hard to conceptualize such ideas when not in relation to an already present piece of media/fiction
I feel like the paper mage may have a few origami spells hidden somewhere on his person for an emergency evacuation in cases where they are overwhelmed by the opponent. Second concern: where does the paper come from? I imagine it to be magical. Is there an industry that produces it for scholars with paper rabbits hanging our near warehouses for potential raids? Or did he invent it? Thus would make him one of a kind
This is the first video from your chanel that i've watched, i liked it🎉 Also you showed a paper roll with fire magic in the video and that made me question how the absorbed magic is stored and used. Whem the Paper Mage absorbs a spell, does it take a whole roll of toilet paper or each time a spell is absorbed it gets printed in only one or a few pages of tp and so there are tp rolls with multiple spells in it? If it is the second them does the PM control the order in wich the spells come out or do they come out in the order of absorbtion?
This wizard is twice as absorbent as the leading regular brand.
The spell rolls looking kind of like toilet paper gave me a very fun mental image of the Paper Mage “TP-ing” a building, to then ignite the spells afterwards
I cast bucket of water!
Very Cool! The idea of a mage taking the remnants of other spells for themselves is really unique!
Thank you!🪄

I love the idea of the mini mages- I would love to see a follow up
@@Mecceldorf Absolutely! Definitely a lot more exploration I can do with the costuming, especially when it comes to the spells👍✨

He was destroyed by what was to keep him safe. Thats so interesting and fun he sound like he would be a fantastic villian
I think a cool name for the paper mage is The Pagemaster.

Good luck on your exam!✨
I was just thinking how cool it’d be if there was a Mage of Blades and a Mason Mage.
@@lilysillustration Thank you!! I did pretty ok
@@robhardingpoetry Mage of blade and mason sounds way cooler
And then comes the rock mage to defeat the scissors mage 😂
now you need to draw a rock wizard and a scissor sorcerer

Me encantan los diseños de tus personajes y toda la historia que les creas! son muy interesantes, me inspira a crear mis propios diseños 💖
Oh sweet glorious paper
I love the goofy or mischievous smiles
Stylish and magnificent
Nice new take on a mage!
Thank you!
Is there just one paper mage or are there multiple paper mage’s?
I love this concept so much. It’s so thoughtful and clever. It certainly couldn’t be an allegory for anything…

Yeah if I do another video, I’ll try and work out if they’re weak to anything, or if they’d soak up everything like a sponge ✨
