i find it interesting how in reality both Prophet and Alcatraz are dead, chilling in heaven somewhere having drinks together. meanwhile back on earth the nanosuit is basically using Alcatraz's body and a Prophet A.I. for the ultimate Prophet cosplay experience.
They aren't chilling in heaven. When you die, the lights turn off, just like sleeping, but without any dreams. You are still there, you are just broken.
Well... Alcatraz is not dead..man....the doc told he had life threatening condition...due to which he termed him a dead man walking...but suit symbiosis..healed his whole wound....in the crysis escalation novel...he fight with prophet over the control over the body
The suit "assimilates" the user, essentially becoming one with the person and even "downloading" that person's memories and personality. Prophet's mind was stored in the nanosuit, and his link to the nanosuit was cut when he killed himself. The nanosuit then assimilated Alcatraz as a replacement, but Alcatraz's memories were corrupted at the end when reversing the effects of the Ceph spear. Then, Prophet's mind was brought out of "storage." Alcatraz is essentially dead.
This is unquestionably one of the best endings in a video game ever. Seriously, my blood was pumping the whole way. The music, the atmosphere, and those last final words... "They call me... prophet!" Still gives me chills even to this day.
Andrew S but every game has its own story, BSI was great but honestly I prefer the post-apocalyptic game. I loved crysis series !! specially 2, the ending , cut scene , plot twists , and story makes it a great game
for me It is, but you sound right. I also had to play it several times in order to understand what happened, also I searched all over the web and finally got a clear vision of what really happened. :)
Andrew S I agree, as much as I love and understand Crysis, one of its weakest points was clearly explaining big changes in the game, the one that gets people confused the most is what happened with Alcatraz, the suit and prophets consciousness, another is what happened between Crysis 1 & 2. A lot of the details are cleared up in a Database (Can't remember what it is called) in Crysis 3, that has lots of usefull in depth information about the Ceph and the series in general, but how many people actually sit and read it all, i did, but most people rely on the game and cutscenes to deliver information, which it doesn't always do.
"...you and me marine, we don't get to die just yet, we gotta go back, back where we are NEEEDED!!!" ~perfectly fitting music plays in the background~ RIGHT IN THE FOCKEN FEELS!!! Will power level: INFINITE!!!
Here's my unpopular opinion: I enjoyed Alcatraz, being kept alive by the suit, much more interesting then Prophet taking over his body. Because his sacrifice was noble but that's what it should be, a sacrifice, seeing him come back and basically saying "fuck your existence" to Alcatraz seems unfair.
There's also something weird. When Laurence Barnes aka Prophet drag the dying Alcatraz to some refugee infection clinic, which is full of infected dead bodies, HOW THE HELL COULD ALCATRAZ NOT GET INFECTED? Of course it took time for Prophet to take off his Nanosuit and give it to Alcatraz. Alcatraz should've got infected that moment
So somehow I think people misunderstand the details here. The longer and the more your body is damaged the more the suit keeps you alive by replacing your body with itself. Prophet was so long in there that his mind went over into the suit but cannot do anything because alcatraz is in control of his own body. At the end at the main-spear alcatraz dies in the explosion, so there is no host that suppresses prophet anymore and he can use alcatraz body, which is still working a lot better than his old one, while his mind is still kept in the suit. So he does not kick out alcatraz but rather comes back to live in alcatraz' body when he dies as he is the only thinking being left in the suit as aclatraz only had the suit for some days.
***** it said the suit was keeping him alive, that it had fused with his body. I still understand what you're saying but i enjoyed the plotpoint of Alcatraz in the suit
Heck, I'd place the entire game in my top 10s. It is just so freaking good. Amazing visuals, amazing sounds (especially the soundtrack, that thing is so fucking epic), and on top of it all, an amazing story. This is such a great game, and it has some cool mods aswell.
yeah, that part of the story is a bit weird. Problem is, between Crysis 2 and Crysis 3, the comics were supposed to fill the gap, just like Crysis 1 and Crysis 2. I, myself, just looked up the story in the wiki, and appearently the consciousness of both Alcatraz and Prophet kept fighting over who gets control over Alcatraz's body and thus over the nanosuit. In the end, Prophet's won (something I don't like, since I think it would have been cool to watch the nanosuit control shift between the two, it could have been an awesome element of the story), and so we sort of get to where we are.
the wearer is supposed to have like a second skin underneath the suit to stop the fusing of the suit to body they wear the second skin suit and then put on the nanosuit it was supposed to stop complete bonding when prophet put the suit on alcatraz without the second skin the suit directly bonded with him keeping his injuries in check...prophets mind and dna were already stored within the suit at the end of 3 the suit and body are now fused entirety with the conscious of prophet plus the suit was no longer bound by restraints so it can be what it wants. I think that's right
Yeah, and since that second skin wasn't there to protect him, there technically isn't a body under the suit. Its the suit walking around with the purpose of Barnes. At the end of 3 it transforms into a body that looks like Barnes so his mind could get used to it....but he still has all the perks of the nanosuit.
They killed off Alcatraz off screen. The suit literally ate him and the Prophet consciousness took over. It used Alcatraz's body as a mold for itself before eventually resurrecting Prophet at the end of 3 when it reforms itself into him. I hate it. I liked the dynamic between him and Alcatraz. I hate that they killed Alcatraz off.
Crysis 2's story felt very wonky, especially if you played the first. But... I have to say that its ending was probably one of the most satisfying, cinematic video game endings ever - it's up there with the likes of Mass Effect 2's cliffhanger of an ending. I think it was mainly due to Zimmer's music.
One of the few game endings that doesn't leave you depressed. It's very important to feel the relief at the end of a game after what emotional s#it you've been throughout the whole game. And it also makes you feel like a hero. ;)
CryNet started to skin the nanosuits from the people, CryNet catched the Prophet in Siberia and then delivered Prophet to the New York to take his nanosuit. In New York there is a Alpha Ceph which CryNet wanted to control better and thats why they started to take nanosuits. Nanosuits are based on Ceph technology and creators of the nanosuits went to the Siberia ( because of the meteorite that fell down there ) and it had some kind of technology and they took it, just 2 people survived there Hargreave and Rasch. And they used nano technology to survive that long.

Aztex Tex when the suit says "asimillation complete" alcatraz mind was erased and replace it with prophet's mind.... and somehow the suit can create the first wearer at the end of Cry3

@@andrejaradisavljevic8034 I know that comment is a year old but i just want to say that makes no sense since nomad was killed by a missile since he sacrificed himself...
basically he became prophet 2.0...... His body wont assimilate to the ceph DNA..... By using a dead body he can effectively fight the ceph without risk of influence
It's not his fault.. he didn't even know that his memories, personality, actions and his own voice were stored inside the suit. also he didn't know that he will come back.. as this plot explained " Thought I gone? well I thought so too "
he didn't overwrote anything. the suit did The suit is symbiotic to its original and first wearer. It means that It only loves its original wearer even if someone else wears it. Prophet's brain was stored in the suit, Alcatraz was a wounded man the suit kepy him only alive, additionally. when the assimilation process was completed, Alctatraz died because the suit replaced his mind with prophet's. it all seemed that prophet came back but he did not. somehow the suit managed to create someone exactly looked like prophet in everything. finally, when the nanites were free ,the suit chose to become like prophet like it's first wearer. so If the suit didn't change it's appeareance, you would have probably seen Alcatraz's body. In my opinion the story is great, exciting and awesome. the issue is that not everyone understood what happened
Nomad died while the whole team was being interrogated at Lingshan when he, Psycho and Helena returned to join Prophet. It's all in the Crysis comic. Psycho and Prophet were the only ones to survive the return to the island.
I remembered reading somewhere (whether in-game or at the Crysis Wiki) that the suit is capable of synthesizing voice based on past vocal knowledge. Alcatraz was injured before being put in the suit, so the suit could never hear him enough to be able to synthesize his voice. But Prophet had been in the suit for a long time, and it had learned his voice.
" Assimilation Complete" i think it has a double meaning to it, firstly the Nanosuit 2.0 had finished assimilating the data for the anti- Ceph spore weapon but it truly means that Prophet absorbed Alcatraz's mind and body.
I don't get it, Crysis was my childhood, and oml the graphics were incredible, I don't get why they weren't ablet to move on into making A crysis 4, some people now a days are just too stupid to know that people work hard to make games with good atmospheres
You might see the connecting, between what tell you suit, and prophet. "Finished what I started". It seems Prophet always be in suit, they still in one piece.
Eugene InLaw ?? wtf for one gta started out on consoles im pretty sure and for two without consoles we wouldnt even have gotten sequels ya moron.. gta has always sold well, and on consoles so wtf are you talkin about
2:28 "Asimilation Complete" meant that Prophet's memories now controll Alcatraz. This was a hidden feauture in the suit, even tho most of the people thought that Asimilation was turning their nanomites into against Ceph. Everything has 2 sides. One good and one somehow bad.
My favourite game ever ever and ever......i love this game very much.......It is my favourite game.....till now its one of the best game ever made.....all crysis series are epic.....also i also wants one suit like nanosuit plz(where are u Hargreave)
crysis 2: linear as fuck, but still damn enjoyable. feels awesome to battle through new york in a 3-way battle between alcatraz&the marines, cell and the ceph. and the ending was epic.
For all of those who still doubt & can't still explain the end, this is the conclusion I came up with: Once Prophet got contaminated with the Ceph's Alien Virus, Prophets immune system got corrupted & could not longer conclude the mission he was called to accomplished because in order to wear the Nano Suit to become a Post Human Warrior, the warrior's body & mind needs to be in shape so the Nano suit can deliver its max. Once Prophet becomes aware of this, he decides to break his body link to the suit by killing himself, right after dressing Alcatraz with the Nano suit. What the Nano suit did was not to become a Post Human itself as many gamers out there mistakenly believe. It did not kill Alcatraz or even vanished him as a few others believed. All the Nano suit did was simply to clone three different elements which are: Prophet's strength, Prophet's mind & Prophet's molecular structure, transforming "Alcatraz into Prophet", bringing Prophet back & even inheriting Alcatraz body, mind & strength. Just as prophets consciousness says in the ending: Hargreave was right. The Nano suit changes all the rules. Impressive storyline & concept. I have not doubt if Crynet make at least two, or three more titles like this continuing the sequel "which I doubt it", will probably even come out with their own movie.

Good to know that guy survived.
1:12 *MAXIMUM* *EFFORT*
*Legendary Actions Engaged*
A superhero landing!!!
Humans win again! Can the aliens get their shit together already? Fuck!!! EVERY GAME!!!
Who in 2024?
2021 anyone ?? Just came back here after they announced Crysis Remaster Trilogy
Prophet voice at the last sounds like : "They call me Optimus Prime"
" They call me prophet " Goosebumps everytime ....
This ending really made me cry, i loved playing it !
When your friends fart is deadly that it kills you: 2:37
Lmao
Why the fuck is a nine-year-old playing the game shut the fuck up you joke is literally dead just like your grandmother
'You and me marine, we don't get get to die just yet, we get to go back, back to where we're needed' GOOSEBUMPS
Amen
basically he became prophet 2.0...... His body wont assimilate to the ceph DNA..... By using a dead body he can effectively fight the ceph without risk of influence
ISIS-CHAN not really. When he learn to become the alpha ceph...he became immune to the ceph influence. After killing it....nothing can touch prophet
@Dex4Sure Fuck yeah mate, we have control just a Suit simulation a person, just fucking aweasome this game
Man, what a series... I think Prophet is up there with Chief and Doomguy
Still one of the most epic endings and its 2019. The music is awesome.
It's not his fault.. he didn't even know that his memories, personality, actions and his own voice were stored inside the suit. also he didn't know that he will come back.. as this plot explained " Thought I gone? well I thought so too "
This is the most satisfying to see the aliens gets destroy like that
They did fight around the world, but instead of making the game about THAT, they skipped 20 years into the future. :/
Man, it sucks that Crysis 3 wasn't as good. Also, Prophet apparently overwrote Alcatraz' identity, so apparently he's a fucking body snatcher now.
he didn't overwrote anything. the suit did
The suit is symbiotic to its original and first wearer.
Paranoid0147 Alcatraz died in the explosion then the suit replaced his dead mind with prophets. The suit didnt kill him. The explosion did
But the suit kept him alive till the very ending of the game. until the assimilation process, it means that the suit did kill him
Crysis 4 !
ITS OVER!
remember ur word
It will come
@@ridhambehal1502 are you sure
Look at me now, it's announced
Nomad died while the whole team was being interrogated at Lingshan when he, Psycho and Helena returned to join Prophet. It's all in the Crysis comic.
Psycho and Prophet were the only ones to survive the return to the island.
I remembered reading somewhere (whether in-game or at the Crysis Wiki) that the suit is capable of synthesizing voice based on past vocal knowledge.
Alcatraz was injured before being put in the suit, so the suit could never hear him enough to be able to synthesize his voice. But Prophet had been in the suit for a long time, and it had learned his voice.
" Assimilation Complete"
i think it has a double meaning to it, firstly the Nanosuit 2.0 had finished assimilating the data for the anti- Ceph spore weapon but it truly means that Prophet absorbed Alcatraz's mind and body.
I don't get it, Crysis was my childhood, and oml the graphics were incredible, I don't get why they weren't ablet to move on into making A crysis 4, some people now a days are just too stupid to know that people work hard to make games with good atmospheres
Crytek went bankrupt
Crytek is dead they dont have money
You are right on point. Oh also gotta mention Ea ate crytek
@@pvtmaguire959 Cause the company cared more about how players enjoyed the game, and not the money.
HI
They call me prophet but in reality I am alcatraz
No, Alcatraz Died and Prophet Reborn :)
The ending gives me chills.
That suit really had abandonment issues
You might see the connecting, between what tell you suit, and prophet. "Finished what I started". It seems Prophet always be in suit, they still in one piece.
This one of the greatest game moments ever created
epic end
Hope Someone makes it the beginning of a new *Epic* .. Till then , we are all dead men walking :)
We need Prophet now more than ever.
Best line, They called me, Prophet.
Astounding game and astounding ending. The aura of this game alone makes you feel like the most badass person ever.
the last mission was absurdly easy... the outro was superb.
its a shame what consoles did to this series......
same with GTA 5 and other great games
Eugene InLaw GTA has ALWAYS been on consoles. Ugh................ gez
Stfu. Thisbexplains san andreas havin awful graphics
On what, the PS2?
Eugene InLaw
?? wtf for one gta started out on consoles im pretty sure and for two without consoles we wouldnt even have gotten sequels ya moron.. gta has always sold well, and on consoles so wtf are you talkin about
They call me.... JOHN CENAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
+Tyler Gladstone Do dodo dooooo
+Sir Lexus wakawakawaka
Remember when that was relevant?
2:28 "Asimilation Complete" meant that Prophet's memories now controll Alcatraz. This was a hidden feauture in the suit, even tho most of the people thought that Asimilation was turning their nanomites into against Ceph. Everything has 2 sides. One good and one somehow bad.
I love how not only when it said prophet, another as well said Prophet but in a hoarse voice, its like alcatraz or the suit speaking.
for me a difficult game. I just finished Crysis 2 today January 3rd, 2021 😁
My favourite game ever ever and ever......i love this game very much.......It is my favourite game.....till now its one of the best game ever made.....all crysis series are epic.....also i also wants one suit like nanosuit plz(where are u Hargreave)
whos Watching this in 2016??

Welcome from the future I come from the year 2018 and yes back to the future lied.
Now 2023 best game over I'm remember i played Crysis in 2018
one marine became a chosen for the sake of earth. jesus man need more stuff like this in the future even a 4 sequel would be cool
На русском языке концовка тоже очень эпично смотрится, аж дух захватывает. Всё таки Ганс Зимер это гений в музыке
Он ещё и человечность сохранил, чего никак нельзя сказать о его некоторых коллегах.
They call me Prophet
2:53 Made In Heaven!
crysis 2: linear as fuck, but still damn enjoyable. feels awesome to battle through new york in a 3-way battle between alcatraz&the marines, cell and the ceph. and the ending was epic.
did any one see on the 4:40 seconds prophet was talking to the soilder in the suit-alcatraz
