@@RealisticAndTrue next year he lose to Nole in AO and US, RG to Rafa, 2012 win W again, lose AO to Rafa and RG to Novak his level didnt decrease, just was playing against prime Rafa and prime Novak
Really I think the last 20 years is the golden age of men's tennis. Fed-Rafa-Novak all overlapping. The 3 greatest of all time. Fed's my personal favorite for his style of play. Overall though I don't think we get an era like this again
You gotta love how he dismantled Hewitt, a 2 time grand slam champ and multiple finalist, easily in straights. And then did the exact same thing to Murray, who most tennis fans acknowledge to be part of the greatest era in tennis. Truth is only Nadal at his best and Novak could truly stop Federer in grand slam finals. The only non big 3(4) loss Federer suffered was at the hands of a certain Del Potro.. In recent times Rogers status has been undermined and undervalued a bit and it's getting a bit annoying to say the least. The man was a tennis machine. To have played over 1500 matches, winning slams in a baseline oriented era, having had to change his game multiple times to adjust to different circumstances more than anyone else is something nobody should forget about. And all that with a single handed backhand as well? Get outta here
@@TvRF20 yeah I mean in slams when these guys Federer Nadal Djokovic are at their best they almost only get beaten by each other 😂 rare are the players to beat the big 3 in slams in their prime era…delpo stan soderling berdych tsonga…obviously I don’t include Murray he is almost these guys level ! A very competive era
@@romainmj7245 Murray in his prime basically played like Novak, but less offence (to his great detriment). He was like 3% behind Novak imo, and that's enough to lose all those GS finals
Actually before the racket change even novak wasn't that problem The new racket worked better against nadal because of the upgrade of the backhand side but worked worse against djokovic because of the downgrade of the forehand side
He was such a smart player, on top of the brilliance and beauty. You get to see his point construction like a chess player fighting for position out there. Both him and Lleyton want that baseline dictating position and you can see that fighting dance so clearly on this compilation. Great video! 👏
This is literally like Sinner vs DeMinuar. Hewitt and Deminaur have zero power and just can keep the ball in play and have good defense but the power and top spin that Fed and Sinner have just blows them out of the court and are left scrambling.
Federer in his prime made everything look so easy. He transcended tennis during his peak and set the bar higher which made rafa, novak chase excellence and seeing the big 3, Alcaraz and Sinner are also elevating thier game now.
It's the version of him who was most confident not only in his game but his body. The next time in his career when he was like this was 2017 and maybe part of 2009.
The backhand is on fire. Just to remind that it did not have to wait until 2017 to have a good back hand. Some great volleys too. Hewitt is also good at the net.
I don't think people understand how good Fed was. It took a right hander who played tennis using his left hand just to attack one side and Fed still had the last say.
Novak is the GOAT, but I would maintain that Rog had the highest top level of the big 3. His creativity and versatility just made him more unpredictable and made it easy for him to dismantle top players from any position on the court; that accompanied with what is at least one of the top 5 serves ever in tennis made this man truly incredible (and untouchable when he was playing at his peak)
Hewitt just does not prepare early enough for his shots and as a result he is unable to seize the initiative and is always stuck on his back foot allowing Federer to dictate the points on the weaker Hewitt groundstrokes.
They made a huge mistake when they slowed down the surfaces back in the early 00's. The fast pace and tempo tennis is so much more enjoyable to watch. Also Roger would have won 40 slams if not.
i dont agree. this isnt the best RF. Neither was Hewitt´s. See how he doesnt get as much speed or hit deep balls. he gives way too much time for rf to hit better shots. he barely forces rf
Blessed to witness this era of prime Federer
This is not prime Federer

Very well put into words! He also dispatched Tsonga with ease in the semis, a not enough talked about performance imo

Brutal for Hewitt, played great points with perfect shots but it wasn't enough.
The Roar of the big Lion,i miss Roger very very much 💕
Hewitt didn't even play bad in this match.
For his overall level in 2010 when he’s basically washed like the rest of the weak era goons, sure.
Roger's backhand was on it this tournament!
Oh yes! Murray didn’t know what hit him 😅 ”I can cry like Roger, it’s just a shame I can’t play like him”

2:56 Oh Roger!
The good ol days now, where we watched a single handed backhand destroy two handed forehand after two handed forehand
Ao 2010 is his most underrated slams
Not really, I’d say Wimbledon 2012, one of the few times he beat 2 members of the Big 4. He never beat Djodal in the same tournament.

I really miss watching Roger playing :(
Hi what year was this? Fred was playing awesome during that period of his life nobody could touch him.

he's just amazing isn't he?
Federer is the most capable player I’ve ever seen. Who has so many different varieties of shots?
Only Federer!
No-one before or since
Federer was the maestro, Hewitt just responded.
Australian Open 2010 was the last tournament among with the ATP FINALS 2010 of Prime Federer.
Love that commentator,not Mats obviously.
In french we say "La force tranquille" ❤
The last Grand Slam of Prime Federer
This was Federer version when the courts were fast. Then they started slowing down all the surfaces and it got into trouble.
king federer !
Poor old Hewitt 😢😊
Thanks for the video but people and I can’t seemed to find the first part of this match. I always see a video that is at 5-2 first set Federer
I think it’s because Eurosport simply didn’t broadcast the first set, likely showing another match up til that point
