I live here and went down in a two person ducky. I was in front and by the time we got to the end, I was behind freezing! This was in mid summer maybe july. I got out and some friends looked at me and gave me a sweatshirt to put on. I think they saw I might be getting in trouble with hypothermia. This was many years ago. I think they need a warming station at the end, maybe they do now. I use to go all the time and sit and watch rafters come down, it’s fun. That’s a bigger fall than shows up on camera. Im thankful God helped you out of that situation. I know you had to be so scared. This is a beautiful area. It sure has changed a lot though, and becoming increasingly unaffordable for me to stay here I’m afraid. Then there’s the devastation from the storms. So sad. We already had a housing crisis here, no place for folks to go and so many won’t be able to rebuild. Our insurance here keeps going up, but I’m sure it will be like Florida now… I’ve been a widow over a decade and live on fixed income, so it’s especially hard. Not old enough for SS yet. I think about getting a camper, selling my place, traveling. It’s more to think about when you alone. Camping isn’t as easy or affordable as it use to be. Anyway, im glad i found your channel. What state do y’all live in? Maybe you travel full time, not sure.
@@cumberlandquiltchic1 They definitely still don’t have a warming station. Your right the camera makes it looks like a rapid, but it’s actually a couple feet drop and very turbulent waters. We are thankful that God was with me.
Great video guys! Next time we camp together we know who is cooking!😊 Those burgers looked delicious. Rafting looked really cool. Sorry you had a scare that’s not fun! Yes praise God!!
Met y'all at the D&H Rv Truck Rally (I was in the purple teardrop.) I'm ready to trade that in for a truck camper now. Loving this video on the Nantahala area! Debby Hodges
Wow, that must have scared the crap out of u! Good thing u geared up with wet suits. Yeah if I ever do rafting, i'm gonna stick to a group dingy...too much of a chicken here 🐣 lol. 🍻
@@CharlesAnsman this video was filmed back in August before Hurricane Helene. I waited to post it until now because we didn’t want to post a fun vacation video right after the storm.
Awesome video and boy those burgers looked.
Thanks, you should bring your camper along, and we can grill them.

@@SpykersB lol, we learned a valuable lesson on that one. All in all it was fun, but for sure made us realize the dangers that come with rafting.
Was this before or after the big storm ?
