Car Scanner app seems a good - but much cheaper - alternative to Carly, Carista, Torque Pro, EOBD Facile, OBD Eleven, OBD Auto Doctor, etc. And Car Scanner works on iPhone and Android.
Car Scanner app requires ELM327 Bluetooth or WiFi adapter - but Bluetooth works better!
(iPhone works only with Bluetooth 4.0 BLE or WiFi).
Car Scanner app is compatible with OBD-II protocol and with many special Japanese protocols:

Car Scanner ELM OBD2 on Android Auto
For mirroring 2 free apps are needed (not available on Google Play, in Android Auto settings you should allow options: Developer mode, Apps from unknown sources). First app to install is AAAD: github.com/shm...
Open AAAD, select and install Android Auto Mirror AAM or Screen2Auto (or maybe try other apps on the list). Free AAAD allows to download only 1 app every 30 days - I selected Android Auto Mirror AAM. Maybe other apps on the AAAD list will work better? Let us know in comments.
how to run Car Scanner on Android Auto:
Open Car Scanner and AAM apps on the phone. Connect phone to the car (wireless or with USB-cable), start Android Auto, click AAM icon on Android Auto screen. Phone screen will be mirrored to the Android Auto screen (without touch screen on AA).
Attention: touch screen functions work ONLY on phone screen - phone is displayed (mirrored) on Android Auto screen.
This method doesn't work on Apple CarPlay

I have a question. Can the temperature of CVTF be read?
Profile Honda OBDII/EOBD+ATF has 3 different sensors for ATF temperature. So probably yes, but I never tested myself.

There are much more sensors in Toyota profiles, you can try several Toyota profiles. I have no access to such car here. Full version of this app is free for short time, just try it.

Car Scanner has profiles Daihatsu-OBD2 and "Daihatsu JDM K-line" (for older cars). Download Car Scanner (free for short time) and connect to car with a good ELM327 adapter. Number of detected sensors is identical in free and Pro version.
One more thing: in setup/connection/advanced menu manually activate "Daihatsu JDM compatibility mode". Good luck!
