I'm not sure these watches are actually selling that well. These "limited editions" are already discounted by 30% by online ADs in my country so demand obviously isn't very high. As a fan of both watches and anime, I sort of want one but I'm still hesitant to pull the trigger. Even at the discounted price, they seem overpriced for what they are.
So how much are these going for in your area?

It's a cool idea and i think it is a good buy, if you are a fan of the franchise.
But as a watch-enthusiast it is hard to spend that amount of money on these kind of watches especially because an enthusiast is always saving up for a product better than these ones are.
I collect vintage Seikos and i wouldn't pay 350 dollars for one of these when i can have a King Seiko for 500 dollars.
My son (9) is a Naruto fan and I have shown him the watch series. His reaction: Dad, I am not interested in watches 😅... you know, I would have ordered one for him, but now I save the money...

Showed it to my 6 year old and he thought the Rock Lee was great. I bought it for myself to give to him one day. I watched Naruto with my kids and asked if any of the others were interested... 😖 ended up buying 3 in total. $349 on Drop at the time

The sasuke watch was my first mechanical watch I’ve ever gotten and I plan on getting even more into the watch hobby. It was surprisingly hard to get in the us back when I got it in December.

Bruce! I just picked up my Naruto piece. I got the green Rock Lee version! I was also laughing my head off like Tom Cruise when I picked up my piece from my AD. It’s a ridiculous watch but I don’t care. The dial is so mesmerizing! The people who hate on this, I know that you will turn around and then say that ‘Oh watch companies don’t do anything exciting anymore!’

I think a cool idea would be for Seiko to hold a contest for the best five modded SKX's via Instagram submissions, and then produce/release a 2,000 piece limited edition set of the five winners. It would be kind of a thank you to the modding community, and I'm positive every single set of five would be scooped up by collectors and sell out. Win/Win!
If Seiko made a Malazan themed watch I'd buy a Seiko.
I had watched the anime with my kids and was considering buying all 7... one for each of my kids and me and my wife, but the girls weren’t really interested. I ended up buying 3 at $349... I was really excited that some of my kids seemed to be into watches too..
Got my Gaara model on 24.12. wear it every day since and the watch it very accurate I dont have to adjust the time now.

As far as other special themed designs for Seiko, I think back to who was perhaps one of the seiko brand ambassadors during the 80s? I think Roger Moore's James Bond.
Idk, perhaps a series of 007 watches based off of Roger Moore's 007 movies. A gold version for Man with a Golden Gun. Maybe a yellow black and white version for Moonraker.. something with a crazy textured color like the octopus in Octopussy... my 2 cents on possible fun themed Seiko watches.

I love the seiko quartz and Perpetual. For accuracy in everything.
I am a big fan of Naruto and Anime in general, but these limited editions are not my thing.
I do like that they are making watches to attract younger generations that might be more inclined to get a watch for their favorite anime.
I think that Orient is the new Seiko, and Seiko is moving a bit into the fashion brands sector, to attract more buyers at the entry-level point.
I threw my Naruto watch on a honey brown shell cordovan and it looks classy enough that no one can tell I'm a weeb.

I'm not a fan of Japanimation and have no interest in video games whatsoever but I'd love to see Seiko make middle to the high-end version of a Bugs Bunny watch.
I have the Street Fighter version of these, more specifically the Blanka. It’s a fun, crazy watch and a great conversation starter. It is expensive for what it is compared to other Seiko 5, but I think it’s worth it.

bought a Seiko 5 Street Fighter "Ryu" in 2020. Badly misaligned but still pretty cool.
Naruto is the single best show ever made.. I highly suggest it if you're willing to commit to 700 episodes lol

I'd love to see a dive version! Wish they never did away with the skx007 platform! Come out with a new SKX style with updated movement and screw down crown! A real dive watch!
I think they got away from "real dive watches" because they make so many, and they want the 5 line to be more base. If you want a Seiko diver, buy one of the many others they make.

I've never heard of the Burrito Anime thing eitheir but I think these look better overall than the Street Fighter special additions!

I think Watch You tubers are a bit too harsh on Seiko. It's become a bit boring. Seiko have their flaws, but they still produce many great watches, and their dial work for the price is often top notch. I just got one of the 38.5 mm Cocktail Time watches and the quality of the dial for $350 is outrageous.
I agree, it seems these days a lot of RUclips reviewers are chomping at the bit to mention misalignment issues or that price increases mean that Seiko is not good value any more. These are both valid issues but Seiko still makes some great watches & that fact seems to be lost on the latest generation of watch enthusiasts. Many seem to be obsessed with microbrands & that a watches must be a value proposition, i.e any watch costing over £200 that hasn't got a sapphire crystal or a ceramic bezel is a 'deal breaker' & they won't consider it regardless of what it looks like. I blame Just One More Watch for this lol!

Awful, cheepens the brand imho... But I'm old & guess anything that attracts youngsters to the hobby has gotta be a good thing... The designs themselves aren't hideously offensive, just a bit childish for me-but to each their own. Cheers mate 👍🏻
