- In our NYC LIFE: WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN - VINTAGE & OUTDOOR DINING we walk along Bedford Avenue & Berry Streets with our dog during the #Coronavirus Lockdown in #NYC to see how vibrant this neighborhood near the Williamsburg Bridge looks during the reopening of New York with outdoor dining during COVID-19 restrictions. We see many restaurants, cafes and bars open with outdoor seating and check out many vintage shops and flea markets set up along the street.

About JamesandKarla:
Hey everyone! We are husband-and-wife architectural/interior photographers based in NYC. We started our video channel to act an artistic intervention to help raise awareness of the importance of small independently-owned businesses and the unique character these shops add to the streets and neighborhoods of New York City.
In our videos we will showcase portraits of storefronts and shop owners in New York City & beyond and capture moments of city life that capture the spirit, energy and cultural diversity of individual neighborhoods. We also bring our dog, Hudson along whenever we can.
We made it our mission to thoroughly document unique 'mom-and-pop' stores when we began to notice the alarming rate at which they were disappearing. Our critically acclaimed books include “STORE FRONT: The Disappearing Face of New York”, “New York Nights”, “STORE FRONT II- A History Preserved” and “Broken Windows-Graffiti NYC”.
Come see the city & subscribe to our channel :)

I think im in love with this city
Thanks for taking me to Brooklyn with you, it's so "old" New York. I'm all about shopping the street vendors & watching Hudson interact with people.......he so lovable!! A big thumbs up for this video!!!
We are glad you got to walk along with us Renee and see us stop and browse the street vendors and of course see Hudson socialize! Thank you so much for the extra good thumbs up 👍!
Thank you for taking me back through the neighborhood I spent 10 years in! I left about 8 years ago and it's fun/sad/exciting to see all of the changes, but also familiar sights! Also great to see so much life & activity. I really miss the energy of the city.
You are most welcome Tracy! We are glad you enjoyed taking a walk around your old neighborhood with us. It made us happy to see the neighborhood coming back to its vibrant self. We will keep highlighting other streets in the neighborhood too as it is one of our favorite walks to take from the Lower East Side where we live.
Hi, guys! Once again you are bringing more and more amazing memories of our stay in NYC.
This time in particular, you´ve stopped right at the doorstep of the place we´ve stayed in Williamsburg! (150 South 2nd Street and Bedford Av, just by that small antiques store Hudson was so happy to visit). Are you following our steps? Hahahahaha.
It´s good to see that the hood keeps its vibrance and to see more people waring masks than in Manhattan (am I right or was just a perception I have?)
The Brooklyn Deli with that subway paint on its wall! Joe´s Pizza! Panchito´s food truck! The Dr Marten´s store where I bought the shoes I´m wearing right now! The L train station we used to ride to go back to the island! All those breathtaking murals! Wow, and wow a thousand times again. Thanks a millon times more.
There are so many places we visited there and to see them trying to stay afloat and fighting...that renews our hope: as soon as Mr Covid says goodbye, they´ll be ok and stronger. As we will.
Keep doing what you do, your passion is contagious and helps us travel with our imagination to keep memories alive.
Bye guys, stay safe.
Hey Christian,
That is so cool that we stopped right at where you guys stayed while in Williamsburg. We must have telepathy lol 😂! And yes the neighborhood is slowly returning to its vibrant self and people are staying safe by wearing masks. We love all the street art and murals the neighborhood has and of course the great little shops snd restaurants. We plan on walking more streets and highlighting more of the neighborhood in future videos.
Thank you again for the continued love and support! Hudson sends big kisses too for you from NYC!
@@JamesandKarla we are connected, there’s no doubt about it.
Kiitos!
Great walk !!!! Sorry I missed you live...! 🤗❇️🎆😋🐻🏵️🥀🌸💂
Thank you so much D N for the love! We are so glad you enjoyed taking a walk along the streets of Williamsburg with us!
My family lived in Williamsburgh in 1961 and 1962 when I was 9 and 10 years old.
Great video Karla i have lived in Williamsburg for 60 years now!

Yes I saw it! I am going to visit 2 Bridge Diner soon.
Wow! Very lively and fun scene. I especially love all those amazing murals!
Thank you so much Patti for the wonderful feedback! Williamsburg definitely has lots of beautiful street art and some fun shopping and great restaurant options.
My boyfriend and I watched this tonight.
This was a very good video.
It made us wish we lived there
Thank you so much Kelley for watching and letting us know that you and your boyfriend enjoyed it. Williamsburg is a wonderful neighborhood to live in and we hope you get to visit it in the future.
Love your videos. Love your friendly dog. And love the Latin music on this video. It makes people in the street look like they are having a great time!!
Thank you so much Patricia for the love! We are glad you loved our video and the music we chose for it. Our dog Hudson sends you big paws up and kisses too!
Took Megabus from Toronto in Sept 2019 for a weekend trip to NYC . Walked across the Williamsburg bridge saw a movie at the Night Hawk cinema. Then had some tacos off the truck and took the subway back to my hostel in Manhattan. Good times.
Right across the street from that building (used to be a bank) where the guitar playing is sitting, there was a small department store called "Bitinsky's". I got my first summer job there at 14 years old. That was 53 years ago. Damn, time flies.
That is so cool that you remember that exact spot! So much has changed in Williamsburg in recent years especially along the waterfront where so many tall condo buildings have been built!
@@JamesandKarla I could tell you where many things where. Williamsburg was my oyster.
@@JamesandKarla Sadly, yes. Too many eyesores replacing beautiful older buildings.
This is a lovely video, thank you for taking us along.
Great video! Even the intro has good captures.
OMG the Bagel Smith is still there! It wasn't called that many years ago. It was owned by a Hasidic Jewish family. They would start at three am every day of the week (closed on Sabbath, of course). We used to go there for breakfast after a night of partying Friday nights for onion bagel and lox or cream cheese. Heaven!
Yes that is deft one of the older businesses which has survived the gentrification the neighborhood has undergone in recent years. Thank you so much for watching and commenting and we hope you also enjoy watching some of our other videos highlighting unique small businesses and interesting places in NYC! 👍
@@JamesandKarla Thanks. I will!

This video is amazing!
Thank you so much Freakazoid! for the great feedback. We really appreciate you watching and commenting and hope you also enjoy some of our other videos highlighting unique places and small businesses in NYC!
👋 new viewer here. Just wanted to stop by and say that I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS ! Thank you so much for them because my family and I will probably ha e lunch around this area sometime next week!
Krystle thank you so much for not only watching but for commenting to us with the great feedback. We really appreciate the love and hope you enjoy walking around Williamsburg with your family. There are so many great dining options there and we are sure you will have an “extra good” time. Thank you again for the support!
I was born and raised in Williamsburg(h). I miss the old neighborhood when it was full of European influence, all the buildings were clean, no graffiti or painted stuff on walls. No street vendors cluttering up sidewalks and streets (All merchants had stores). No hipsters! There was an old European atmosphere. As the saying goes, you can't go back home.
Heru-deshet it is certainly hard to believe how much the neighborhood has changed. The large ethnic enclaves have mostly gone although there are still some pockets including the Jewish area around Lee Avenue and the Italian enclave near Graham Avenue and a small Polish area near the Greenpoint border.
@@JamesandKarla There were Also Irish, Puerto Ricans, Ecuadorians, etc. I knew many of them when I attended St Peter and Paul Catholic school. There were great music festivals held at the Epiphany Catholic church during the summer in addition to Italian street festivals honoring patron saints, etc on the North side. Those were extremely wonderful times.
What is the name of the song played in first minute of the video? Btw good job! ❤️
SOMEONE GIVE ME THIS DOG!!!! ♥️😭
Hudson (our doggie) sends big kisses to you! Thank you so much for watching and commenting and hope you also enjoy watching some of our other RUclips videos walking around the City with Hudson of course.
Cool video. When was this filmed? weekend I assume?
Thank you so much. And yes it was the weekend
Is this on weekends? I’ll be in that area in early August.
Yes we filmed this on a weekend but now NYC has fully reopened so both indoor and our door dining are at full capacity with no restrictions and stores can also have customers inside at full capacity!
Salak salak youtuberlerin kendilerini çektiği anlamsız videolardan bin kat daha iyi.
Brooklyn'i görmek istedim ve Brooklyn'i gördüm, sokaklarını insanlarını gördüm
Dam colonists
Hipster apocalypse
Some definitely may classify the neighborhood as hipster central but we remember it when it was mostly just warehouses and factories and also pockets of modest row houses for working class people
Bah!
Pretty neighborhood. Too bad about all the phony non-New Yorkers who live there.
