    All the factors BJ mentioned are often taken into the equation when comparing all time greats of different eras. Comparing across eras isn't easy, but it's not extremely difficult either. It can be unfair, if enough factors are ignored.

      Dude, the difference now is the 7-footers shoot Threes! And MJ shot the ball exponentially more than James does on a nightly basis. He was the league's first true volume shooter. More than Chamberlain, Maravich, Havlicek, Monroe, West and anyone else you can think of. And LeBron should've won the MVP Award in both 2005 and 2006 over Nash, but the writers, who don't have a set criteria with which to assess a player's annual performance, basically give the award to whomever they want to have it. LeBron's numbers were twice as good as Nash's. Do the research and check it for yourself. MJ averaged 30 ppg for his career and James has averaged 27 ppg for his which has been 6 years longer, which is much more difficult to do at an advanced age. That's one 3-point shot better. James has almost twice as many Rebounds and over twice as many Assists and he's still adding to his totals. He's a machine. No one has ever played as well as he has this late in their career. He's averaging 23, 9 and 8 this season so far and he's not even having a good season to this point. James wins by attrition because he's always going to be the last man standing.

    • @John_Hoover
      @John_Hoover 29 дней назад

      @@MrPTR91You (rightly) say it is more difficult to average a higher number as you get older, and that’s all week and good… but seem to ignore it’s also harder to compete with stat TOTALS when you’ve played EIGHT YEARS FEWER. Of course LeBron has more assists and rebounds than most other players in league history. He SHOULD have more.
      Now give Jordan (or any other era’s greatest players) the same no hand checking, PEDs, equipment, training, etc that LeBron has and see how they fare.
      Of course that’s impossible, making these cross generation comparisons largely moot.

    based on bj's reasoning, MJ's skill would translate even better today if you're not allowed to be super physical with him. Lebron would suffer because it was a big man's game in the 90's, if he couldn't even get pass dwight howard, imagine him running into alonzo mourning, patrick ewing, Dikembe, David Robinson etc

    • @2robjenkins
      @2robjenkins 27 дней назад

      I’m mot sure who lied to you and told you that you were allowed to be physical with Jordan without the whistle being blown. Jordan had arguably the best whistle from the refs in the history of the nba. Couldn’t touch him or breathe on him without it being a foul.

      @@2robjenkins obviously you never watched any games. Jordan was picking himself up off the floor nightly. There was a reason he stopped going to the hoop. You forget that hand 🖐️ checking was allowed. You have no clue what you are talking about. Could you just imagine if MJ could have taken 5 steps like they do now? 🤣🤣🤣 it would be over for the other team. ALSO THERE HAS BEEN NO OTHER PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA THAT HAS BENEFITED FROM SPECIAL TREATMENT THAN LEBRON. Only thing Lebron really has over MJ is passing which many past greats had over MJ anyway such as Bird and Magic. MJ is a far better rebounder for his position he averaged more offensive rebounds than Lebron as a shooting guards. Defensively MJ was better at peak and was consistent with his defensive effort over time where as Lebron use to play it in spurts then it’s turned into gradually nothing. Then offensively your biggest Lebron fan is going to give scoring to MJ. Better freethrow shooter shot blocker steals Man U name it MJ is better in every category.
